    wow seeing the dollar amount of gifted items really puts things into perspective ! wish this kind of transparency was more common, even beyond slow fashion circles. i think despite everything, cost and money are still somewhat taboo but im glad creators like you are working to break them

      Yeah, it surprised me as well! The breakdown was ultimately around $700 for items that were part of collabs and $400 gifted outside of that. It just really goes to show how quickly items from sustainable brands can add up. I also wish to see more people talking about cost/money in the creator space and beyond! Thanks so much for watching and for your support

    I always love your thoughtfulness and perspective as well as your style! Thank you for sharing them on TH-cam!
    2021 was the year I started buying clothing on secondhand apps, and I went a little HAM… yikes. Most of the pieces I bought were beautiful and are already staples in my wardrobe, but when I look at my buys as a whole, it’s like, oh snap, that’s way too much. I think it was really easy for me to justify every purchase with “oh, it’s secondhand”! But overall consumption is still an issue!
    To s l o w down, I now have some more formal low-buy rules and am focusing on wearing what I already have in new combinations! It’s a joyful experience already. Also I’m saving up for a mystery bundle from Lavender Haze LA, who I learned about from your videos! It’s super easy to turn down more impulsive buys when I ask myself if I really want that thing more than I want to save for the bundle.
    Side note - oh man did not expect a thick slouchy sienna cardigan to jump out at me and sing my heart’s song today, but that Tradlands sweater is just gorgeous. You can see the quality from a mile away too! Love the ways you styled it. That and the linen pants were my favs of your new acquisitions!

      Thank you so much for your sweet and thoughtful comment! It made my day 💛
      I can totally resonate with the secondhand apps issue. They're also really good at getting you with sales emails and notifications (at least ThredUp and Poshmark are). I had to unsubscribe from ThredUp emails so I wouldn't be tempted to look 😅
      I'm glad you're enjoying your low buy journey so far! That's a great idea to save up for something you really want and keep that in mind as you're approaching new purchases. I know people really like Jade's bundles and I hope you'll be delighted too!
      Tradlands really does have lovely knitwear and I know I'll be wearing the cardigan a ton for years to come. And I can't wait for spring for the linen pants!
      Hope your 2022 is off to a good start, and sending you the very best!

    I've been trying to reduce my consumption for a while and your videos seemed to be the final push I needed to take it more seriously! Love the video and it's really encouraging to see the transparency :)

    love this video idea!!
    I have been documenting the clothes I buy/sell since 2019 (on excel+word), so I can see exactly how much I spend on what :) I try to buy/get gifted 12 items per year - which is obviously 1 item per month. I like that concept because I used to be a horrible fast fashion shopoholic and this narrows it down. I usually make a wish list at the start of the year, and then throughout the year I see what I actually need/want! It also helped immensely to write down every single item I own to not buy anything similar :)

    I’m pretty happy with my fashion purchases for 2021, but I think I’ll start keeping track of things I may be gifted too!

    You're glowing in this video, Lily!
    I love the leggings with pockets. Definitely want leggings with pockets for going for walk.
    Also curious if you have a post on sports bras for larger cup sizes? Because I find usually they only come in regular clothing sizes but not in cup sizing, and if they do they tend to be smaller ones.

    • @imperfectidealist
      @imperfectidealist  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aww thank you Nina! Yes, leggings with pockets are everything hehe.
      I actually don't have a post on that, but that's a great idea to keep in mind. I did a quick search and couldn't find anything from sustainable brands, but it looks like there are some mainstream American brands that cater to larger cup sizes. I'll let you know if I stumble upon anything Europe-based!

    Did you ever try barefoot shoes? I love them, been wearing them for 2 years. Can recommend! Btw I love the orange cardigan, it suits you!

    • @imperfectidealist
      @imperfectidealist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't, but I've heard good things about them! It's a pretty long transition process, so I'm not sure I'm up for that just yet, but it's great to know they work well for you! And thank you - I know I'll wear the cardigan a lot for many years :)

      @@imperfectidealist yes, it is a process. And not a cheap one. But I have a hip defect from birth that makes my kness hurt and barefoot saved me. So worth it for me:) love you chanel, keep up thr good work. Sending positive energy from Slovenija

    Hi. I'm non binary and in urgent need for a binder, but I have no idea where to find a sustainable option:( help of any kind would be immensely appreciated xx

    • @imperfectidealist
      @imperfectidealist  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! I unfortunately don't know too much about binders, but I know several Girlfriend Collective sports bras have been used as a binder alternative (like the Dylan style). They are a sustainable brand. Otherwise, your local LGBTQ+ center might have some options you can get immediately. I also found this shop by searching on google: spectrumoutfitters.co.uk/collections/short-binders/. They don't have a ton of information about sustainability, but seem to be more sustainability-minded than mainstream options. Hope this helps!
