I have just experienced the same problem and couldn't understand the problem. S pleased I saw this blog and I hope Ford/Westphalia come up with a permanent fix. Brilliant blog and essential viewing. Colin Hazell

Nugget plus arrived yesterday. Worked first time. Then this happened. We did work it out but used pliers to sort. Knowing the fix without pliers is useful!

Great video again with your honest no nonsense style. We also had this issue with table so I am so glad you have made this video as there is non mention of the UK version of the table in the manual. The table leg and bracket is sourced from zwaardvis who make high end tables for motorhomes and yachts. I am not sure where Westfalia get the tabletop from but I suspect this is another supplier. The design difference in the UK model with twin sliding has pros and cons. As you pointed out in an earlier video it really helps with access to the gas for example. The downside is the loss of storage of the table on the side wall. It also means we just have to be organised about getting it out in the right sequence - mind you that's like most things in any campervan! . All that said it is a really good table to use.

Thanks for another great tip. We have one that you may find useful, as noticed your head rest seems to have the same sticky tape residue as we had in our blue nugget when it arrived. If it is the same as ours, a quick scrub with some surgical spirits (bought for £2 from the local pharmacy) removed all the residue, and a wipe over with soapy water finished it off perfectly. ☺️

Brilliant, thank you we too have a new silver nugget, love it! Couple questions , i cannot see the thermostats on the boiler, how did you manage to access the area? Also, do you have problems lowering the pop up roof? We often leave material outside when closed! Is there a way of braking the fall of the pop up, to give time to bring material in before closing? Thanks

Thanks so much Andy. Glad that you are enjoying your silver Nugget too. To answer your questions, you may find it useful to watch episode 9 on the ‘exploring the nugget’ playlist- this covers the water system and we show the thermostats and location. However, we agree , they are difficult to see but once you set them you are unlikely to change them much. For the pop-top query; we treat this as a two step process. We usually drop the roof down until it’s about a foot from closing, then one person reaches forward along the bed edges and rolls up the excess awning fabric while the other balances the roof (When we’re on our own, we use our head to balance it). Then we fold the fabric in, working towards the back of the van whilst slowly lowering the roof until able to engage the latch . At this point, we check outside to make sure no fabric caught then we close the latch. Hope this helps. If not come back to us and we can do an update on our pop top roof vlog/ top tips.

Another tip, be very careful of not leaning on the table to get up from the seat. Our 9 year old did this and the table snapped clean off the bracket! Pretty flimsy setup in our opinion. Ford quoting us £670 for a new table top!

Sounds a bit of a design fault to me, just saying.

Thanks for your comment Swiss Jones. Initially I thought it was a design fault too, but having had the time to reflect on it, it’s quite useful being able to adjust the tightness of the leg to ensure that it is always solid. The problem is that the manual doesn’t have the UK table in it and therefore we didn’t know how to use it. Now that we know, we have had no problems and thus we feel the design is reasonable for our use.
