    Thank you for sharing your experience with the Ford custom Nugget. I have recently ordered the very same but the delivery time is not until well into next year so your ‘tutorial’ is very interesting and informative. I have already booked for a week at the camping club site in Keswick in July and hope it arrives by then. Meanwhile I shall continue to study the various aspects you cover and thank you so much for not only the information but the way it is presented. Alan Hobbs

      Thank you so much Alan for your kind comments. We appreciate the feedback so much and we continue to learn and (hopefully!) improve the quality of the vlogs. We hope you'll find our channel useful. I'm sure you have seen, but the channel is organised into various playlists:
      -Exploring the nugget (black)- technical and instructional info on the Ford Nugget
      -Lockdown Silver Nuggets (white)- bit of fun on what we did with our Nugget in Lockdown
      -Planning for the off (orange)- includes info on what we keep where both day to day and packing for a weekend away
      -Product Focus(blue)- this includes the vlog we did with the MS-RT Ford Nugget prototype as well as vanlife products we like
      - Our Top Tips (green) - Ford Nugget specific including things we've adapted, tips and hacks to get the most out of the Ford Nugget
      Then we have a seriers of playlists covering our trips in the Ford Nugget. Organised as geographic areas/ roadtrips. Turquoise- day trips, red- overnight stays, purple- roadtrips.
      Enjoy the preparation and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us on here or via silvernuggetadventure@outlook.com

    A useful video however we bought a 2022 model which is different because there seems to be no water pump switch. We have the new style control panel (see the later clip) which works well but somehow the water pump switch has given and the fuse panel is now vertical. Our situation is made worse because the supplying dealer (Keith Motors in Christchurch - avoid them) gave us a manual in French and all attempts to get an English version have failed. There is nothing on the Ford site that I can find either.
    These issues apart this is a versatile vehicle and a lot of fun. Fortunately there are good dealers around and Alan Myerscough in the Lake District is the stand out for me. Just go in with your eyes open when buying as this is a collaboration between Ford and Westfalia and some things seem to get lost in translation - literally in our case!

    Very informative video for Nugget Plus newbies like us! However our 2022 ex-demonstrater van doesn't have an obvious drain valve on the boiler like yours (or the instruction manual). It just has a pipe which disappears under the fresh water tank.
    Also the first time we turned on the water pump we had hot water without the boiler having been turned on at all. Any ideas on either of these?!

    • @SilverNuggetAdventure
      @SilverNuggetAdventure  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi - Apologies not experienced this but maybe worth you asking in one of the Nugget forums on Facebook. There are a lot of very knowledgeable owners on there. Hope you find the info soon.

  • @drumbrakes
    @drumbrakes 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi all, worth pointing out that the over-heat protection on the water heater in these is a one-time use part. If you leave it switched on with no water, this can blow leaving it broken until you can fit a new part from Elgena.
    (qualified service person is required apparently)
    There's one for the 12v side and one for 230v side, so 12v should still work after 230 blows and vice versa.
    It'll catch a few people out, but it's better than having your Nugget catch fire!

    Firstly I do hope Neil is getting better and on the mend. We’ve just received our nugget from the dealer and your vlogs have been invaluable. Could I ask when running the Puriclean through the system do you run it through the hot water boiler and tap as well ? Thank you Guy

      Hi Guy. Apologies for late reply. Yes we are back to full health now thanks.Thanks for the kind comments. In regard to the question above- yes we do run the puriclean through the boiler and hot water tap as well, ensuring we rinse through thoroughly. We also recommend that you ensure you follow all the manufacturer instructions. Hope this helps.

    Thanks for this - I was looking everywhere to find the wattage used for the hot water boiler and I see it's a measly 200 watts based on the sticker on the boiler - does this means it takes ages to heat up to max temp? Also, you mentioned the shower was COLD water only - surely there is a way to use the boiler for a HOT shower? Please say this is so... Thanks again for the fab videos - really informative for someone like me deciding which camper to order.

    • @SilverNuggetAdventure
      @SilverNuggetAdventure  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Chris. We've not timed the hot water boiler, but not seemed long at all and very hot. Been no issues at all for us. Have seen some comments in online forums on this recently though so you may want to check them out too. The Nugget Plus (not the SWB Nugget) has the hot and cold shower but in the UK,2022 SWB models also have had a hot and cold feed to the shower as standard- I have checked this today with a ford dealer. Hope this helps.

    • @chrisyates399

      @@SilverNuggetAdventure Thanks for this - the shower control doesn't seem to allow a mixer of hot and cold water though, it just appears as though it's a standard shower attachment without any controls of the hot/cold mix - what am I missing? Thanks again for your repeated answers, they really are most helpful.

      200W on DC, but I think 660W on AC.
      The heater is made in two versions one has 330W on AC and the other has 660W on AC.
      To be sure, you need to check the sticker on the other end!

    So useful. Thanks for doing this. One question - when using the van for day trips or single overnights, would you drain down the boiler as well as the fresh water tank afterwards or is it enough just to drain the fresh water and remove any waste each time?

    • @SilverNuggetAdventure
      @SilverNuggetAdventure  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the excellent question. We are going to drain down the boiler every time we have a gap between trips. I am sorry this is vague but we will have to live the van for a few months to get a real life feel for it. Any water left stagnant in the system for a significant amount of time could allow contamination. Although my vlog makes the process look extensive it really isn't that hard once you have done it a few times. We will be posting updated vlogs as our experience grows. Keep an eye out.

      By the way, we always carry a large 2L and another 1L stainless insulated water bottle filled with tap water. Saves worrying about drinking water from the system, save money on buying bottled, and saves out planet being contaminated with yet more plastic (and chemicals), added benefit is your water is also cool and saves fridge space. Tap water is available for free almost everywhere in the UK.

    • @dommel2020

      Appearantly that is an advice which has to do with the EURO 6D label. if you take more water, you'll use more fuel and CO will go up as well. So basically you can fill it up.
