My 2015 Toyota 1kr-fe engine didn't use circlips. You just oil the pins, lay the piston rod over a 2 x 4 wood, and pound the pin in with a metal punch and a 4.5 lbs hammer. It's a VERY tight fit and my wrist still hurts a week later from swinging the hammer. Admittedly I screwed up using lithium grease on the first piston and it was WAY harder than using motor oil.

But wonder how much extra power one can eek out of this 3 pot it has a good 4 speed auto box just under powered compared to most 3 cylinder engines.
