  • This video shows how you can use sub-xsheets to group columns together and hide them from the main xsheet, to make editing easier. I show 3 main types of content in your columns that you might want to group:
    1. Complex animations containing multiple columns that run the full length of the animation. Useful if they're characters built using the skeleton or plastic tools.
    2. Static images in columns that run the full length of the animation, but don't change.
    3. Small incidental animations where you might want to easily adjust their position.

      @@amitmishra6904 You have to expose those frames in the main timeline. You can do that manually, like you do with drawings, by clicking on the last 2 frames, then dragging or extending the last frame, then pressing q or w. And this is especially useful if you're showing the subxsheet frames in a different position.
      This is the same as adding drawings in the Level Strip and having to expose them on the timeline.
      But the quick way is, on the main timeline, right click on the subxsheet column header and choose Resequence.

    This method of applying FX to sun sheets is GREAT for shadows too I found. Before, whenever I had two shadows overlap, they would get darker. By placing them all in a subxsheet, and applying the transparency to the subx sheet, they transparency stays consistent.

    Hi Datten, is it possible to move frames (e.g. delay frames) together with keyframes use for some progressive changes (e.g. rotation, position, etc) ? Thanks

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not quite sure of the workflow you're asking about, but yes, you can move both drawings and animation keys, either separately or together (hold the Ctrl key before selecting the frames).

    I just wanted to comment on something I've been thinking about recently.
    Do you know if there´s a way to copy keyframes into a new scene?
    For example, I have an animation of a level with i´ts keyframes, so I want to drag that animation that I made (with the frames and the keyframes). Like copy it but to a new scene.
    I tried to copy and paste it into the new scene, in another window, but I got a message that said: "unable to paste data: there is nothing to paste."
    Do you think that there´s a way to put the keyframes into a new scene? or, I have to do all the animation again in the new scene?.

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If it's the whole scene that you want, then you can import the whole scene from the File menu, Load as SubXsheet. There's details in the online guide and I've done this in a few videos. Have a search on my channel.

    Great tutorials, just a question on sub-xsheeths, is it possible to keep opacity levels, as the the opacity jumps 100% when I put a level in a sub-xsheet?

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Cheers Tony.
      If you're referring to the opacity that you set from a column header, then the answer is yes and no. There's 2 occasions that a level shows an opacity: during editing your animation and when fully rendered. If you set a level that's in a sub-xsheet to have a lower opacity, you won't see that lower opacity for that level while editing, BUT if you choose to show the opacity in the final rendered version, it WILL show.
      To show the opacity in the final rendered version, go to the menu, Xsheet > Level settings and tick the box at the bottom of that page (Enable column colour filter and Transparency...). Then when you render (or press the preview eye button), you'll see the transparency effect.
      Hope that helps.

    Im making an animation and when I created a character i didi so in several different layers, sketch shadows etc now that I've completed it it still in 2 different columns one for the character 1 for shadows and highlights. Now that I'm trying to animate the character when I go to drag the character down it leaves all the shadows behind is there a way to make it to where I can move my character which is on one column and my shadows which is another column at the same time. Fairly new to this also if you do happen to see this comment and you have a video made that explains it feel free to link. Lol, great video man.

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Matthew,
      You need to connect your columns in the stage schematic. I show how to do this in the first video in this playlist, where I show how to connect BB8s head to his body. It's the same principle for you. Then when you move your character, the shadows will follow: th-cam.com/video/wIc3Ocag8s4/w-d-xo.html

    Is sub xsheets like symbols of adobe animate?

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, they're very similar to them. But also slightly different; more flexible, which was why I've made a few videos about how to use them. If you're used to Animate, then you're better off trying not to find too many similarities and just start learning anew. Both programs work differently to each other.

    How to save a rigged charecter and use it on another project multiple times? Help me sir

    • @DarrenTAnims
      @DarrenTAnims  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you create your character in its own scene. Then, when you want to use it, create another scene and use the "File > Load as Sub-Xsheet" menu option, then browse to your character scene and that'll add it to your new scene. I hope that makes sense.
      You can see me doing exactly that, to reuse someone else's puppet, in this video: th-cam.com/video/HsnKgLB-H1g/w-d-xo.html
