Thank you for cutting Footloose with us! We have a great season of shows for the 2022-23 school year that we can't wait to share with you! In the meantime, check out our other videos here: th-cam.com/users/HilltopperTheatrevideos
This is so good! The entire cast is so talented but Rusty and Willard aren't getting the credit they deserve! They were amazing and scene-stealers for sure!
Wow, the costumes are amazing! I’m sure there is a cute Junior costume crew girl back stage just killing it with that GOD DAMN FINAL QUICK CHANGE. She sounds awesome.
I'm always so impressed with Summit High. They put on some very high quality musicals and plays. Also Donald is getting better and hotter! He's a very good ballet dancer too. EDIT: Grace is an amazing singer too!
@@toddbranowitz9136 Ive been watching Donald Grennon since Mamma Mia and he's improved so much that I always like his character portrayals. But like you said to each their own.
@@lenniedavis1294 Donald's growth is awesome. I have been on board since PIPPIN. The dancing was ALWAYS a riveting given but he has worked seriously hard and now manifests as a major triple threat. Love him
this was the first musical my 6 year old son saw. His sister did a production at Melbourne Uni in Australia. he was on a high for weeks afterwards. Thankyou for sharing.
I love this whole production everything about it is amazing. The best production of this show I’ve seen, this is apart of my show research before being in it and I’m glad I found this one
I've seen "Footloose" live on stage, with an excellent Ren, but I'd no idea it was actually as good as it is. How do I get one of my musicals produced at Summit High School.
Very well done for a high school production, though, I believe the actors had to fight for their lives against the band. It kind of overpowered them. The young lady playing Rusty was phenomenal! Her voice was amazing!
"We don't receive any funding from the Summit Board of Education" And why not? Does the Summit board of education fund a football team? All of the board of trustees should be told they must fund this great program or resign!!
G'day from Australia. I LOVE most everything the extraordinary kids and faculty at SHS choose to offer. I am a huge fan of shows past, and still revisit PIPPIN from time to time, along with MAMA MIA, MARY POPPINS and HOW TO SUCCEED... etc. FOOTLOOSE works on all the expected levels from the great pit to the chorrie and vocals, set and lighting et al. (the sound is a little dodgy at times). I have to say this was not a fave. Nothing to do with the effort. The material (libretto) is really flawed, hiding behind a bunch of familiar and strong ensemble set pieces. For the most part the cast were impeccable. Lennie Davis' comment is on the money. Donald continues to get better and better. (Question: Will Donald still be doing SHS productions when he turns 40? How come he is still in HS?) Sadly, the preacher was very pitchy which weakened his introspective 'moments.' Against that, the wife's voice and 'play the text' delivery was quite beautiful. A fun ride. Thanks guys - xx
I have NO WORDS! This comment is exceedingly disrespectful and I WILL NOT STAND FOR IT! You have no right to make comments on the musical integrity of these performers, let alone THE Evan Gunther. You do not have sufficient knowledge of the source material to understand the nuanced acting decisions of such a talented actor! You will rue the day you made such an ill informed comment! RUE THE DAY, I TELL YOU!
RUE THE DAY? What are you? 90? Who says shit like that? After many years in professional theatre I manage to have a pretty good handle on the source material. My comments were mainly positive if you even bothered to read rather than REACT. I have exchanged texts with Evan and he is cool with my comment. I even had enough respect for him to spell his name correctly. No "t" mister. You blew it. SUMMIT did a great job with the material as always.
I am so sorry Evan. I don't even know who you are. At least I didn't misspell your name I was guilty of calling you pitchy. An ill considered comment Sacrifice note perfect for dramatic intent. I understand that. "mid asf". I so don't think so. With respect - w
@@waynegarton3478 OMG I promise you there is no ill will intended, I was joking about making this comment well before I ever read yours, I swear it was not pointed! I completely get it my friend, respectful critique is never a bad thing!
This one feels like a high school production, unlike some of the past ones. Did Anne Poyner leave? Acting is kind of meh across the board which which is probably result of direction. Not seeing much of that insanely good direction anymore. Like no matter what dialogue scene I skip to, the rhythm is off and almost all the nonverbals and ticks are absent. It feels like forced line-reading. Could be a bad script though, but a lot of this could definitely be improved.

I stage managed the original Broadway FOOTLOOSE (and tour) for 2 years. This is a very impressive production. Take a bow!
This Ren can do it all! What a great dancer as well as singer.

I prefer CHUCK CRANSTON, but to each their own!

Easily the most accurate, most impressive and very well done high school production of this show. Well done. Fantastic
"Somebody's Eyes" sounded fantastic! Good job ladies!
Woah that confetti at the end is sick. The assistant stage manager who set that off must be like…so cool
Why do I have the slight feeling you may know the assistant manager one way or another...
What confetti?
@@westendboy9253 you'll see ;)
He’s also an excellent candidate for the star of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Bad Cinderella

Is the video sped up or is the music at a faster tempo?

This was actually good 👍
SO UNDERRATED
I'm doing this musical in July. Playing the principal.

YO who was talking back stage!? Did anyone else hear that!!!???
Honest? Great, but I was hoping for more of the movie ending dance.
Damn that guy playing chuck is lowkey fiiiiiine

Nah
Really great choreography and dancing! Previous Summit productions have been better on the music side.
