The 02 sensors are usually in order. That is Bank 1 O2 Sensor 1 is the one that connects to exhaust manifold prior catalytic converter. Bank 2 O2 Sensor 2 is right after the catalytic. VW vehicles usually have a third O2 sensor (Bank 1 Sensor 3) that will be the last sensor in the series at the end of your cats. All three will give a fault code and MIL light. I usually first use a scanner, check the code, take a freeze frame snapshot, clear the code, drive the car and see if it comes back. I then see the Live data to see the voltage on the sensor. Higher/lower voltage will indicate something wrong with sensor or circuit. Usually it's the sensor.
@@thecrittergitter7576 , I use an Autel Maxisys MS906BT. It's on the pricier side, but much less than the pro stuff. You can get the same data from a less expensive diagnostic scanner.
I have 3 sensors in a row between the turbo, and cat. The one on the top had a straight sensor and black connector, with 5wires. The 2nd one has a 90°bend, has a an orange connector, with 2wires white and grey. The 3rd one also has a 90°, white and grey with a brown connector. I have found conflicting info which is what concerning which sensor does what. Being an 2012 there's not much literature available.
I have a fault Code P2271 Bank 1 Senso2 Fault. I noticed you stated on your video that you are replacing Bank1 sensor1 fault sensor. does that mean that my faulty sensor is the one in the exhaust under the car?
Hi. How is call this sensor coz there is 04 sensors . Is it g39 or g235 . I think this is G39 . .i would like know wher is the G39 sensor transmettor number 01 of gaz echappement G235 on golf 6 gtd 2010
What is the sensor to right of the O2 sensor and left of the battery? It has an approximately 1 1/4 inch corrugated plastic hose attached on one end and the other end appears to attached to the breather hose.
My 012 tdi Passat be a P2478 Which is BANK 1 SENSOR 1 and that was for the EGT sensor, Which would be either the Orange or Brown connector. How did you determine it wash the O2 Sensor? I have read the O2 sensor was usually mistaken for a EGT sensor.
would you possibly have wiring diagram for it ? my computer completly doesnt respond to it ! I flashed my computer back to OEM software /tune and I was getting overboost all the freaking time !!! I also got a new computer for my car in past 2.0tdi CR where installed streight pipe and turbo was whistling like a semi truck ! on stop sign it would load and BANG like a gushot !! can I get any help out here ? I have same problem with my 2015 passat that has all emission components on it and the turbo simply turns into limp mode
Awesome video and thanks very much for recording it and posting. You saved me about $400 dollars
Is this upstream or downstream?
Where did you buy it form what website ?
Can you list the tools?

Which model/type scanner did you use?

Well done. Thanks.
Did you have to disconnect the battery?
He should first disconnect the sensor before unscrewing it.
Will it be the same on a 2013 cyclic 2.0?
Thank you for speeding up the extraction and install process! Bonus points just for that alone! Lol
☆☆☆☆☆ 😎👍
what was the code for the check engine light
P2201?

got a video for that sensor 2 ? xD
got same issue. Did you end up figuring it out? Thank
What code were you getting? Thanks for the video btw.

very helpful
can you just unplug the sensor first and then use wire nips to cut it off the wire and use a regular socket?
+DWings nvm i guess you need the special socket to put it back on
What was the tool you used to loosen up the sensor?

Might be the mass air flow sensor

might as well clean the dpf while ya at it
Thanx a LOT, my passat cc throw a P2196 & I wasn't sure if it's de 1 n a engine or exhaust.
you have Bank 1 sensor 1 problem ?
Can it make a whistling noise??
May I ask what kind of camera you used? The stability on it is disorienting at times (foreground stays still while background jiggles)
Is this the EGT sensor 1?
