Sad Jack died such a horrible death in a fire. Life is sad sometimes. He is doing so well here on Password.
I remember when that happened. I read in Shirley Jones's autobiography that they found what was left of his body by the door. He was trying to get out. 🙁
Ironically, literally after his death happened a week of the syndicated game show "Cross Wits" he had taped prior to passing was airing, including in New York on Channel 5 (then WNEW-TV, WNYW-TV since 1986) where they had to run a disclaimer before each of those shows that it was pre-recorded and that "Channel 5 mourns the untimely passing of Jack Cassidy."

Nancy Ames lives in Houston - she still is beautiful.
She is currently eighty five years old. 🐩
November 28th 1966... a day I remember very well. It was my 10th birthday and I returned from school expecting a party. My parents were missing and my older sister was in tears. In the days when children weren't told of such things, it was a few days later when I found out that my grandmother (Nana) had died on that day.

the winning bells alarm are really advanced in this episode, about 10-12 seconds or so as opposed to about 3-4 seconds in previous episodes.
I'm not familiar with Nancy Ames, but she definitely seemed like a fun person to have a few martini's with!
You should watch her singing performances on TH-cam. For example, on the Ed Sullivan show. And especially her recording of Malaguena Salerosa, the best version I've ever heard.

Jack Cassidy was very handsome and so was his son David.
It's so interesting that his first response to the clue "Linda" was "beautiful", because that's what the name "Linda" means.
I wonder whether Gwen Stefani is inspired in her styling by Nancy Ames.

I agree. Both Nancy and Jack were excellent players. I wish there were many more episodes with these two.
Nancy was a good clue giver. She came up with words most people never would have considered.

@ maltreatedpony Only in hairstyle and color, That's all. Ames not even as thin as Gwen who's related to and resembles her cousin Madonna more (yes, Gwen and Madonna are blood cousins) than she does Ames.

I think this was a week of CBS reruns. When the reruns were syndicated they took out the sponsor from the original airing.

I don't know, but my guess is that they weren't paid money for it. The benefits they got, besides the fun, were to have their faces on TV for several minutes and to be interviewed by Allen Ludden about their latest activities-usually things about which publicity meant money (concert tickets sold, movie tickets sold, theater tickets sold, musical records sold, books sold).
For the prime time version, they were paid $750 for one show. It would have been more for doing five shows.

Now that you mention it, Anna Nicole Smith does look a little like her from some angles.
for "wham" I would've said George Michael. duh...
No Lynn Turman. They would not have known who George Michael was because this show came on t.v. in 1966, 3 yrs after George Michael was born. He was still in diapers and sucking his thumb when this episode 1st aired. George didn't become really famous until 1984, in the famous big 80ties with their famous 80ties hair, clothes and music styles.😲👈😊 Duh! huh! huh!

well off hand I can think of a couple of faults. Buzz 2 words, then there's the fact that the song came out 2 generations after, and 3rdly no one even now would ever admit to knowing that song.
This girl was not good in the lightening rounds. Felt sorry for the contestants.
You could tell sometimes the contestants got mad.
I thought she did better than many of the celebrity contestants.
