It was refreshing to watch all these people treating each other with respect. That's what I grew up with, and I find it sad to see how things have deteriorated over the decades.
Almost 30 years before this show aired, the nazis were busy getting their genocides started while the Americans were pretending it wasn't a big deal. The entirety of human history is made up of every possible level of human horror and decency, from literal genocide to someone saying "oh how do you do" to a guest. Look up her background. Her dad was a big deal in the biz. And she outshone him and he ( out of jealously) turned his back to her and she died in her early 60s.
This show wouldn't work today. Today's celebrities would never show up and nobody would know who they were and they'd be too stupid to do it. These old gameshows are timeless and unable to copy.

I watched Bewitched when it started its run, in the days when we couldn't tape the shows but had to rush through our routines so we could park ourselves in front of the TV. Now in 2021, at age 62 watching and taping the reruns and loving it!!
It's amazing that these episodes have survived at all. Videotape was prohibitively expensive back in the 60s, so much so that it was common practice to reuse or, "wipe" videotapes whenever possible.

Robert Montgomery was a wonderful actor & Elizabeth carved her own legacy. Loved Bewitched! I’m 74 & watched Jim in a comedy show called “I Married Joan” about a judge married to a zany woman who got into trouble worse than Lucy. My younger brother loved Mr Magic, voiced by Jim, loved by all ages. Miss all of these wonderful talented people! So thankful for the movie & TV films saved for everyone to enjoy over & over!
In "I Married Joan," Jim played a court judge and easygoing husband to a colorful wife. It was the only role where he didn't play an eccentric. Just a down-to-earth person. After growing up with Mr. MaGoo and Thurston Howell III, it seems odd to see him playing it so straight.
Always loved Elizabeth Montgomery. Most beautiful, charming, and talented, lady on television. And what a great actor - just watched "The Legend of Lizze Borden" and Elizabeth was phenomenal in the title role.
These shows were on during the day and us kids used to watch them due to limited channels and shows like this really helped our vocabulary and we did not even realize it.....

WWII story: Elizabeth's very scary/by-the-book/harsh Navy Lieutenant Commander officer father Robert Montgomery gave my father a secret leave of absence to see his new-borne baby in Chicago, circa 1942. This was, IIRC, weeks before my father shipped out to the Pacific, assigned to a mine-sweeper. My father said everyone was was scared shitless of him, an unforgettable act of kindness from LtCdr. Montgomery. Thank-you.

When I was a kid in school we got to stay in at lunch and watch Password if we stayed quiet and I loved it when Carol Burnett and Elizabeth Montgomery were on. It was a few years later then this though, in the early 70's, but I really enjoyed it. Being able to see these even older episodes here on youtube is great.

I was not even born when this aired. Celebrties of today should do this same thing with average people. It shows massive stars connecting with the general public. It definitely brings love and unity. And before the internet or even cable everyone knew who these people were.
Although the original "Password" was usually taped in New York, there were about eight weeks a year when the show would be taped in Hollywood so that stars who wouldn't be able to go to New York could still appear.
TIMELESS STILL 30 YEARS TO GO TILL DAWN OF CELLPHONES circa 1996 back in a time when people could have remarkable conversations without flaking out or staring at their cellphone
lol, "flirt with the rules." In plain speak she frequently cheated, which made it unfair to the other contestant. Every player is suppose to be "competitive" - no harm there; but selfishly she repeatedly breaks rules that Host Ludden tells her she can't do.
Amazing how polite and respectful everybody was and look at the women wow! All 3 were at a healthy weight, and were wearing beautiful dresses, had perfect makeup, and their hair was done. Such an enchanting world compare to today.
Although both the actor and the host were woefully inappropriate with the doctorate student. Commenting wolfishly on her looks instead of asking about her studies.
I just loved Elizabeth, watched her as a young boy everyday after school on the re runs of Bewitched..she was so Beautiful and smart,save enough back than to own 20% of that show,networth around 40 mill @ time of her passing..
It was cool to see Elizabeth impressed over Jim Backus' golf experience. He was being modest. He actually was a very good golfer. An amateur obviously, but one year he legit made the cut at Pebble Beach. That's no small task.

I was not even born when this aired. Celebrties of today should do this same thing with average people. It shows massive stars connecting with the general public. It definitely brings love and unity. And before the internet or even cable everyone knew who these people were.
I always like the fairness of swapping partners in case one of the guest celebrities was a real dud.

lol, "flirt with the rules." In plain speak she frequently cheated, which made it unfair to the other contestant. Every player is suppose to be "competitive" - no harm there; but selfishly she repeatedly breaks rules that Host Ludden tells her she can't do.

Amazing how polite and respectful everybody was and look at the women wow! All 3 were at a healthy weight, and were wearing beautiful dresses, had perfect makeup, and their hair was done. Such an enchanting world compare to today.

I just loved Elizabeth, watched her as a young boy everyday after school on the re runs of Bewitched..she was so Beautiful and smart,save enough back than to own 20% of that show,networth around 40 mill @ time of her passing..

It was cool to see Elizabeth impressed over Jim Backus' golf experience. He was being modest. He actually was a very good golfer. An amateur obviously, but one year he legit made the cut at Pebble Beach. That's no small task.
