Thanks for this video, Victor. It went right into the saved folder as I ordered one earlier today from Digitaka to pair with my Bellezza!
Love my Vanquish things incredible. My vanfords barely get any play😅
We need another crappie fishing video with the Shimano vanquish. I remember swing the 2019 version what and warm day you had out there !
sure.. i try to rotate..
@@ifishcatfishI’m not sure why my message was generated differently 😂. I meant to say I rember seeing a video of you using the 2019 version. And catching a whole lot of crappie. We need more of some vanquish action !!
Thank you for being an awesome TH-camr sir !!
Спасибо за видос! Один человек сказал "если у смазки нет состава и протокола испытаний, это просто гавеная жижа" у вас, как раз такая "жижа") Рекомендую посмотреть - перфторполиэфирная смазка.
take it easy, bro
Thanks Victor, very interesting and helpful. Stay warm!
the new Luvias st sf comin 🔥 hope it will be better than the basic model

I disassembled both my Twin Power and Vanquish, looked at the inner parts closely side by side and noticed the Vanquish has thinner main gear width compared to the Twin Power that made me realize thats what makes the Vanquish feel lighter to turn.
Which now makes me currious which reel the Exsence share parts with hence why Im wondering why you mentioned it doesnt feel as smooth as the Vanquish when you reviewed it years ago?
As far as greasing you are spot on. The approach should be less is more and in my personal experience. I made the mistake using a cleaning agent that is too strong when I was cleaning the bearings, it ended up sounding noisy and becoming grindy.
So thats also something people should be careful when they are servicing their reels.
On my end I had to order a couple of bearings in your website to fix that issue. But on that note I want to thank for making those affordable since the original bearings are so expensive when ordering from Japan
exsence and Vanquish is exactly the same reel. Lighter turning in vanquish is for lighter rotor and tuned up bearings.. although my twinpower, i dont know how, turns up almost as easy as Vanquish. Doesnt make sense. I also don't understand why the sahara turns so easy, costing all of 50 dollars and being 205 grams... doesn't make sense..
You got that Japanese mtcw grease ✌🏼 i use it with MT-04 oil .. i take my reels apart about 3 times a year since i fish saltwater only .. i dont like mag seal, all bearings
careful with oil.. it has very different viscosity in cold and hot weather. Synthetic grease is exactly the same in cold and hot weather.
@ifishcatfish yup.. but I fish salt so the mist water from casting is hard on the reel parts that's why I often take it apart and re oil and grease it like what your doing nothing major overhaul.. very different environment salt to fresh is more forgiving.. wish you can come here to San diego California experience some flat bay salt fishing on light tackle its a blast especially bonefish...
By any chance you will make BG jigs in to tungsten or have tungsten jigs heads in the works ?
I can't stand those jigs heads with such big eye hole for the lines 😆 I love the your BG design, all them Japanese jigs heads has such a over kill big 200 pound braid hole on their jig hooks 🤣
I have a 2500s on the way!
Great tips, that turning by gravity test is a good one, is that the grease you sell on your website?
no, this is expensive Japanese grease. My grease is for drag
Are there any upgrades to the vanquish that can make it even better? I reckon you have sold quite a few vanquishes for shimano over the past 5 years! Loving my c2000s recently for light saltwater action.
no. Its perfect. I have never sold a Vanquish. I keep even my 2019 vanquish.
🤓👍, thanks
I got the 1000 Tsukobijin reel on the way
dont know what that is but good luck!
@@ifishcatfish Daiwa Spinning Reel, 24 Tsukiyobijin X LT 1000 saw a decent price on it haha
I've been looking through your videos on the new vanford and vanquish. I have the old 2500 vanford and it was a great reel. There are different technologies and price ranges however I was wondering what is your opinion on the 2024 vanford vs 2023 vanquish. Looking forward to your response.
this is exactly what i compared in this video, explicitly! Maybe u didnt watch it. Everything in the vanquish is better
@@ifishcatfish Thank you for your response. I have been checking things out. I will wait for the right opportunity to get my hands on the vanquish.
I dont blame the guy assbling the reels in malaysia, probably making in a month what we in australia make in a day or two.
if u wana put it like that.. If he works for Shimano i bet he still makes more money than his buddies though.. who do construction or some other crazy labor job..
@@ifishcatfish true, that said it does fall on the company / factory managers, if all staff get proper training and standard operating procedures in detail then it shouldn't happen. Maybe they are making these differences on purpose to make their made in Japan reels feel superior.
@ i am surprised shimano hasn't sorted this out yet, as its been goin on for 5 years now. The Vanford versions have always been full of issues, ever since they were introduced
@@ifishcatfish true weird, the stradics ive had in the last 5 years have been assembled perfectly (I exclusively saltwater fish here in western Australia) just got a vanquish that things flawless
The c2000s and 0.5-5g UL rod A lot of fun on 60cm southern bluefin tuna!
Hello mister, can I know how much ester line to fill full spool of this vanquish? And the poundage and brands if possible. Thank you very much for your time!
Good morning sir! Every reel in the world will say in the box how much of which diameter it can take. Line brand does not matter, only diameter. I have no idea how much line an ultralight reel can take.. they all take too much line if u ask me
victor are you reviewing the new luvias SF and complex because i want to buy a blue current 71 and im choosing a 2025 reel for it
Those new reels buy be out in the summer, at icast... u can probably get it in september..
I have a Vanford that I need to take apart and clean, it feels awful. Can you do a quick vid of what needs to be done when a reel gets dunked. I have dunked 2 reels and I can tell one of them still doesn't feel right.
Dunked it in Saltwater I assume and you where unable to service it immediately?
If they sound noisy and grindy you need to replace the bearings. Check the bearings sizes and check Victors website. He has bearings you can order at a very affordable price
the most important thing after dropping it in the water is not to turn the handle and spin the gears. If dirt gets inside and u turn the reel you will F-UP everything, and cannot be fixed. However if u just take it home and open it and clean it, there will be no problem. Worst case u have to replace some bearing but bearings are readily available and cheap. As long as u don't turn the reel, u wont damage anything. Now u can test the bearings and HOPE that one of them is bad and u can replace it.. Of course u still have to clean it
Hello Victor, thank you for your videos as always.
There would be a place or a website where I can find the very slim knob mounted on Vanquish shown towards the end of the video?
Thank you
this is the knob the reel came with. Only this model has this knob
Hey Victor. I just bought a Soare XR reel, and it has a ton of resistance compared to my Cardiff XR. It also has that scraping noise. Is this something easy to fix, or should I just return it? Where should I start? Does it need to be stripped down, re-greased, and re-oiled? Thanks buddy!
impossible to tell like that. Proper reassembly and proper retorque has helped many times, but not always. I had that exceller that even after reassembly remained tight.
@ I think I'll just return it and re-order. I think it's too much to go through for a reel that cost so much. It seems like it's a crap shoot on whether you get a good reel or not. My Cardiff was perfect, but this one just sucks!
i dont know what the exact odds are, but it is a bit of a gamble every time
Can you show actually greasing?
honestly i didn't plan on making a video out of this.. i was just doing winter maintenance.. The only reason i did it was that i was shocked how clean dry the gear was. I have several videos on the channel greasing, but there is no magic, just put a little bit on several places..
I just got my 2500SHG version in from Japan. It seems to sound like it’s dry and the handle from the main body has a little play. What would you think that would be? It’s still fishable but I’d like to nip it in the butt as soon as possible.
do u have a reel that doesn't have a handle play? I don't.. I wouldn't worry about that. For noise.. its impossible to tell. Keep in mind you got the high gear ratio model, so ur rotor will spin like crazy with little movement of the handle and seems like u have more noise but you are turning the rotor more. You will always have some noise. What is bad is if something is hitting or scratching
@@ifishcatfish perfect explanation, yeah this one is going to be used for Ajing/ bay jigging in San Diego bay. So needed something a little higher than the slow gears that I usually like. I think what I’ll do is grease the main gear a little and send it. Thanks for the advice Victor.
Less is best!
Hey I used the same grease (MTGG-T) on my stella 1000 and complex c2500s, works great when it is warm outside, but once it gets bellow 5C the turning becomes very stiff. Have you notice any of that?
I fish down to 3C temps and feels great down to 3C. I don't fish colder than that because i have other problems..
i don't think its this grease. Must be something else. Most resistance comes from mainshaft and rotor, so be careful what u put on main shaft and how much u put. U can't get resistance from the gears, really... resistance comes from bearings or from mainshaft rubbing in the bushing
@@ifishcatfish I've been servicing my reels for 15y+, I have tried almost any grease/oil that is available on hedgehog and it is the first time I had this sort of problem. I put tiny amount of grease on the main and worm gears. I would never add grease to the shaft just a tiny drop of IOS oil inside the pinion. I think this grease stiffens quite a lot from the cold and the resistance is coming from the worm gear. It is strange because russians praise that same grease as one of the best and their conditions should be similar to where I am located.
@@amifishing is the IOS synthetic oil that good?here in youtube majority of Russian say positive things about it indeed.
I tried Glitch Oil Evo-2000 but did not like it since its made my Vanquish feel sticky to the point the light rotational feel was gone.
Im now tempted to order the MTGG-T grease and that IOs if it makes a big difference
@@bestthingsinceslicedrice both IOS grease and oil are awesome, just very expensive, if you have the pesos go for it.
it was assemble in Japan not china, Malaysia, or Thailand,,, etc enough said !
spiáter........wá
It’s a shame !
what is?
@ how inconsistent the assembly and lubricant the shimano and daiwa comes now days!!!zero complaints on my vanquish, Antares metanium!!
I still love my old vanford c2000shg . From the box just 💦💦💦💦🫨🫨🫨🫨 hahahaha. Just cranking that reel gives me satisfaction. Perfect
