This was SO wonderful. When Ali talks about how she felt before she left the classroom is EXACTLY how I feel. This was so encouraging. In teaching, it feels like its " shameful" to even think of changing careers. THANK YOU FOR THIS! It was just what I needed to hear!

This is amazing, I've learned so much about instructional design and how transferable a lot of teacher skills are! Many of the concepts you've talked about just clicked and made sense, thank you!

What a fabulous resource! I was overwhelmed at first when I thought about how I could articulate my skills in an ID context- I wish I had known about this video then. What helped was scanning job ads and noting new phrases, then reading articles and posts on LinkedIn & watching videos related to ID to see the way new phrases were used in multiple contexts. Having a range of contexts eventually helped me understand terminology in ID, and cross-reference this terminology with my terminology that describes my current skills. I also got hung up on the difference between job titles while researching courses, but keep reminding myself to focus on the skills identified in job and course description.

Thanks for sharing your lived experience, Rachael. It will be so valuable to complement the perspectives shared in this video. A reflection we recognise in you is to be curious and take action on the things that resonate to get you closer to your goal. For those that read this comment, that's what will help you with what you are trying to achieve. Experiment. Take action. Be intent-driven with the time you have. xox

I’ve 2 interviews coming up this Tuesday... Curriculum Design (2nd interview - a fit interview), and the same day an initial interview for a Learning Design post! I’ve beamed smilingly through this video chat. So so insightful and I was nodding along with so many of the discussion points. I feel like I’ve just been in one of the best coaching sessions of my career.
