- The legendary Grammy-winning songwriter Jimmy Webb is joined by rising star Ashley Campbell, daughter of his best friend, the late Glen Campbell. The elegant duo performs three songs together from the Webb/Campbell songbook. Glen Campbell classic songs By The Time I Get To Phoenix, The Highwayman (3:19) and Wichita Lineman (6:45) are performed by their composer Jimmy Webb on vocals/piano and special guest Ashley Campbell live in 2018 CT concert, accompanied by guitar and string quartet. They later appeared again at Pepperdine University, in Malibu, CA.
During the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, Jimmy Webb has spotlighted excerpts from his 2017 autobiography The Cake and The Rain. He's managing Spotify playlists and experimenting with performances from his Los Angeles living room piano for streaming via Facebook Live. Ashley Campbell is musically active, performing live from her home in Nashville. Glen Campbell died from Alzheimer Disease on August 7, 2017.

The best cover is the one Ashley and a small combo recorded in the summer of 2019 in a small club....Country Road TV. The harmonies are amazing.

Ashley, your song "Remembering" is perfectly beautiful work. I watched every episode of The Glen Campbell Show" with John Hartford on banjo for awhile there, in '73 maybe. I learned every song he sang and played. My daughter has me helping her learn the guitar so it gave me a new purpose to get better and help her get good too. I admire you and your brother for filling the vacuum of Glen and carrying on where he left off. Bone for bone but powerful spirit too. You deserve it all.

Webb has become a better singer. The song Highwayman is one of the best songs I've ever heard. Ashley has sung it many times. I liked the mom and pop restaurant version with the older gentleman playing guitar and backing her with harmony on the vocals. She is great. Took me 4 or five listening to appreciate Webb's imagination here. Fertile it is.
