The amount of time it takes for you to make these videos with notations is *chef's kiss*. Cyn, After years of learning from you, I've mastered my hair. I was loc'd for 5 years and was watching you when I was getting ready to comb them out.. After learning as much as I could from your videos and Guru 101, I combed out my locs and began my straight natural hair journey. I now keep my hair clean and trimmed (Using only one product line Design Essentials), and everyone always ask me how my hair is down my back. I get so excited to tell them that I do NOTHING except wash, condition, blow-dry, and sometimes flat iron with the seasonal trim. From being loc'd to now straight natural, I can confidently say that your teachings are TRUTH! Love you so much! ❤

I've been watching you since your rice water videos I'm glad black women are finally listening to you and following your advice. You deserve all the best 💖
This was an AMAZING VIDEO!!! The past few months Ive been going through perimenopause, and my coily pattern have changed so.much from someone whos been natural for over 20 yrs, my hair never grew to the hights I desired. I remember when Andre Walker came out with those products and would have been happy to buy them, but they were so expensive and now in hind sight Im glad I didnt but I still became a "product junkie"..the natural hair community took off on YT around 2007 and I was right there making videos and all thinking I knew what I was doing...smh! Now Ive started straightening my hair the last month and I forgot how much doing that I was not manipulating my hair every darn day!! Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge. Having now to just wrap my hair at night and that's it has been a welcomed reminder that less manipulation is better!!
I’m so glad I randomly came across this. I had locs for about 7-8 years. Combed them out. I hated being a loose natural before, because it was too much to manage, and my hair never grew. Which was the main reason I got loc’d in the first place. It was too much. But I always fell for heat isn’t good for our hair. Straightening damages our hair. I really rather stick to the silk press adjusting. So this was good info, thank you!
I always felt like this chart was weird like there’s something inherently wrong with kinky hair.. it gave a lot ppl unnecessary insecurities about their hair whole time we the only ones who took it and ran smh
I’m so glad you mentioned this ! I’ve never had a perm and when people started talking about hair type it made no sense . Two people can have the same size curl and their hair may react to styles and products totally different. Smh
I am so upset with myself for buying into this foolishness. He sounded like he was making it up as he went even in the interview. Now i understand why my sister, who is a comesmetologist, was looking at me crazy when i went natural and started talking about my hair was 4c. But even with receipts, some people will die holding on to hair typing. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us!💕
Yes please send this to your sister and call her to apologize. It’s been going on for so long, most left the industry because of it others just block it out the best way they can. It was all made up by this dude and professionals have known the entire time but called the worse names when we’re just trying to share truth. Make it right sis, spread the word!
@@wonderfullymade425All hair grows from different sized circles from the scalp. The numbering hair typing system is inaccurate. Ref: Pamela Ferrell on the curly hair crisis channel interview
@@wonderfullymade425 This is true, but the hair typing chart is only what the hair LOOKS like not what it is. I can use the same products as someone with straight hair if our porosity is the same.
Hey!! After I washed my hair last week, I blow dried with a comb attachment. Rolled my hair with some satin rollers. I also bought some flexi rods. I want the simplicity I had when I was relaxed.
I still can’t believe how bamboozled we all were. I mean how in the world did so many of us believe it was okay to walk out of the house with wet hair, leave it that way for days, twist it, manipulate it, and pile products on top of it and think it was OK?😢
@IamCynDoll hi I just found your channel and I'm a new sub. I use olaplex n3, I watched your video on the products which I found very helpful. I have a question can I use a protein treatment if I use olaplex? At different times of course.
I watched your other video and honestly idk it was ok to straighten hair with heat wweekly. My roots are like this lady's in the video. Maybe not as bad but close and I just couldn't figure out why. I was thinking that was where I was going wrong.
My hair is now relaxed because natural hair took me hours to care for due to xtreme thickness. The damaged I have in it is crazy!
