Hey Gaz. What's the weather actually like? Saw some posts on reddit saying a lot of bloggers aren't talking about the crazy heat that's there at the moment, somewhat unbearable at times. Not saying that is true, but I'd be interested in your opinion.
Hey. We went in March so I can only comment on that. It’s unbelievable hot - one of the hottest place I have ever been to. We did 10 nights and think it was 30+ every day, 35+ a few days and everyday on BBC weather was ‘feels like 40+’. As it’s a city break it often feels a lot hotter than if you are just sat by the beach with a beerwari in hand. However, KLCC aka the city centre is so so good - taxi into or across town £2/3, food/ drinks delivered to your hotel £0.50/£1.00 and everywhere has amazing air conditioning. We were just getting taxi’s door to door in places, as it is very toasty. Also, it’s worth noting I’m a northerner and my gf is ginger so we absolutely can’t handle any head in any country… 😂 You’ve gotta remember it’s a tropical climate as well. Near Singapore, just up from Indonesia and Bali. So it’s very sticky and humid as well. Soon as you are in places like shopping centres, bars, restaurants you won’t even notice it - it’s just getting around. Download the grab app which is like uber and you’ll be absolutely fine. As for the city itself I thought it was unreal. Great people, great food, rooftop bars better than London (Vertigo and Terezza were our favourites). I would just check when you are going as I believe they do have some what of a monsoon season. So you’ll have the head with crazy rain as well. Any other questions just give me a shout 😃 Gaz

@gazwright7545 malaysia has two monsoons strangely. 1) winter monsoon - October till February. Called North East monsoon. Typically hit east coast and borneo. But can hit whole country. Very powerful. 2) south west monsoon April- June typically hit west coast
@gazwright7545 you can visit borneo sabah or east coast peninsula now. No issue. I do not know your hobby or interest. If it is jungle , wildlife and hiking mountains for sure sabah borneo. If you like islands for sure east coast peninsula and borneo sabah. We do not really talk much about our islands although they are world class. Of course we have caves as well at the unesco heritage mulu national park. One of the largest in the world. Popular diving for western tourists are sipadan, perhentian, tioman, kapalai, mabul, layang-layang atoll. The tropical jungle - one of the oldest in the world both in borneo and peninsula. Almost 3 times older than amazon. Only matched by daintree australia. World Famous reserves are: Taman negara Danum valley Imbak Maliau basin

The steps are really cool to look at and going early morning with no one there was really beautiful. However, there was quite alot of rubbish on the steps and in the caves as well. We also went to KL in september and honestly would be a great spot to do nomad work too, keep up the the great videos nice to see a couple from UK too, subscribed and liked :)
@@SomewhereOnTheMAP love to hear you also enjoyed it. The level of customer service was amazing. Everything and anything can be at your hotel doorstep in a matter of minutes. It’s where Grab first came to life for us - especially for my gf who loves a morning coffee 😂 I got very Tokyo / Seoul vibes, but obviously a lot more kind on your back pocket. Appreciate the sub and welcome. Where is next on your list of travels?
@@gazwrighttravel You're absolutely right and the service is affordable! Luxury at a low cost we'd like to think :)
Interestingly we had a mini dubai vibes in terms of modern hotels, city life, skyscrapers etc,
We did quite a few places ranging from Asia to south America, vlogged it all too for our channel but there's still so much to edit haha !
@@SomewhereOnTheMAP yeah I think the level of service vs the price is what I think is a huge driver there. It’s like 5 star rooftop bars, taxi’s door to door etc. I really want to go back and go to Lankawai and some of the northern beaches.
We are finishing up in Bali next month, doing Auz and then South America. I’ve not been to any countries there so I’m really excited. Where in SA were your highlights?
Also, what’s your favourite video on your channel and I’ll check it out?
@@gazwrighttravel Yeah we've only seen KL and I've heard the beaches are MUST see. We're planning Auz but no idea when haha but I think its the next one, do you have a specific route in mind? With SA, west half for the insane nature, for example bolivia and peru is a must and the east side for the city life bogota, buenos aires (amazing).
Havent been to Bali, would love to see that too although I've heard mixed things.
You should check out our recent KL video :) we've got cambodia coming up next. Although the south America vlogs coming up will be much better, especially our bolivia one as we got more "used" to vlogging in public haha
@@SomewhereOnTheMAP Auz we are doing Darwin, Cairns, Brisbane and Sydney I think. It depends what time of year you go which direction you do.
I've really enjoyed Bali but depends on your vibe. More of a holiday, nice bars, restaurants, fitness kinda vibe... If you go further afield in Indonesia there are more travelling type options. Uluwatu and Ubud were my favourites in Bali
Ok sweet - will have a look and keep an eye for the Bolivia one :)

Also, it’s worth noting I’m a northerner and my gf is ginger so we absolutely can’t handle any head in any country… 😂
You’ve gotta remember it’s a tropical climate as well.
Any other questions just give me a shout 😃
Gaz
@gazwright7545 thanks for the video man. Lots of good info, as we plan to visit KL soon. Also watching your vids is very unnerving bc you don't look into the camera.
Hey - thanks for the message. I record on my iPhone so when I record myself like a selfie it’s really hard to look at the camera rather than myself on the screen. Something I am trying to improve / always wear sunglasses when I do it… check some of the more recent ones and see if I have improved 😅
Glad to hear you are going to KL. what other questions do you want answered? 🏄🏻♂️
Enjoy your adventure brits
Thanks and really appreciate the message. When we come back to Malaysia where else should we go to?
@gazwright7545 since the north east monsoon is over, I guess borneo or east coast of peninsula
Perfect thanks. When is monsoon season and assume its best to visit outside of this time period? @@keangwooichoo6138
World Famous reserves are:
Taman negara
Danum valley
Imbak
Maliau basin

@@gazwrighttravel thanks mate, was it easy enough getting from the city to the airport? can you remember how much a taxi was
@@cryptok9185 we are literally the worst backpackers, so we just get private taxi’s from the airport to the centre. It was about £10 on the way to KL via the Grab app. On the way back we paid £15 as we had to pre book it due to an early flight. Taxi’s are really reasonable in KL as I believe petrol costs are quite low. It’s about 35 mins on a clear run and an hour on a slow run with traffic. Depending on what time you land
Batu caves sponsored by Pepsi? Wow, hopefully they can keep the bloody place clean.
The steps are really cool to look at and going early morning with no one there was really beautiful. However, there was quite alot of rubbish on the steps and in the caves as well. I guess its really hard to keep clean with all the people going there later in the day eating and drinking. The caves have a big sponsored by Pepsi sign, so I guess so....
