Ruger M77 250 Savage

Welcome to Cloninger’s Garage. In this video, I talk about an old Ruger M77 chambered in 250 Savage. We had planned to get velocity reading, but we experienced some technical difficulties.

The 250 savage is inherently accurate. I would check bedding on gun and loose scope setup.

That's what everyone tells me. The bedding is fine and the scope is not loose. It appears that the barrels on some of these old Ruger M77 Ultralight rifles are not very good. I am just going to knock this up to a poor barrel and move on. Maybe I will replace the barrel in the future. It still works okay within 100 yds, which is all I ever used it for; many years ago. If I want something for longer range I will use one of my other rifles. Thank you for commenting and please come back for more content in the future!! 🙂

@CloningersGarage I had a M77 in 280 remington. No matter what I did , it wouldn't shoot well. Good enough for Woods hunting but not accurate enough for long range. I sold it and bought a Remington mountain rifle in 280 . This was when they first came out. It's a tack driver even with the light barrel.

I build and sell AR 10 uppers for hunters who want extreme accurate AR 10 in something other than what the AR 10 is commercially chambered on.
I am just now adding the 250 Savage to my AR 10 uppers going to be sold.
I use Pac Nor SS super match barrels with all the other parts are from KAK Industries .

There’s something loose on the scope mount, it should be shooting better than that!!!

Checked and everything is tight. I have a couple more videos on this rifle and 250 Savage in the works. Come back to see how everything works out.
