  • Welcome to Cloninger’s Garage. In this video, I work up some reloads for 87 Speer Hot Cor bullets using IMR 3031. The focus was to load up to a higher pressure than suggested for the 250 Savage. I was trying to reach an avg. MV of 3200+. We had planned to get velocity readings (we did not get all of them), but we experienced some technical difficulties.
If you have any recommendations on how I could improve my delivery please comment below.

My 99 loves, loves, 87gr Speer Hot Cor’s over 37 grains of IMR 4064, running 3050 fps. Accurate 💯

You need to change bullets. Never had good luck with hot cor speer in my ruler RSI International. Best load was 36 gr 3031 , 75gr. Sierra hp. We'll prepared cases,Win. primers. 1/2" grps at 100 yds and 3/4" at 200 yds. And that's no BS. Out of an 18 1/2" barrel. It's all in the components being assembled. Search for what your rifle likes and stress on case preparation

Very true, I use different components for my other rifles and there is definitely a difference.
