Love your husband's piece and all I could think of was tiny license plates...maybe from scrapbooking. Or a real truck key or keys 🔑 🤔 . But license plate was my main thought. Your so very crafty and im sure whatever you come up with will be so much better than what ever I could come up with. On the floss...I love the metallic floss that starts with an E...it would really pop like you want. Those glasses were Amazing...you rock them well !! There is a saying that you need to practice saying ...."im sorry but I can't right now". Nobody will be mad or upset....you have to take some time for you and yours too. I got so excited I paused your video right in the middle for truck framing suggestions: 1. you can get car (truck) key blanks at Lowes or Home Depot, 2. If he has a preference for a make, like Ford or Chevy, you can find the actual emblems (pulled off old junkers) on places like etsy and ebay. That would look so cool on that frame! (Also, I love what you did with the Holly Hobby frame - what an inspiration. I keep forgetting that painting things myself is an option when I see things like that in the store.)
You rocked those glasses! Your finishes look amazing. One of the HAEDs that I am working on has crazy confetti. It takes forever!!! My goal is to do 1000 stitches a month on it. I can't wait to see the finished Birds! Thank you for sharing!

Fantastic finishes! That poppy in the black frame is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! Love those glasses too! The 825 looks like DMC Light Effects, a metallic. It can be a little difficult to use. Stitch a little and see how it goes. The one with the "C" is etoile which I recently used for the first time and is pretty easy to use. Great video! --Deb

I love your ffos. Your birds in bloom is so gorgeous. The etoile is the floss with the little bit of sparkle. The first one your showed. It is easy to stitch but not a lot of contrast. The other color which would show up better is not fun to stitch with, in my opinion.

On the truck, I like the idea of the old key, but perhaps do you have any old vehicle key that would tie in to the piece? The checkered flag is cute-can you get a little piece of checkered flag color ribbon? I’ve done small wrenches and even a spark plug in decorating stuff for my husband at Christmas. I think Tim Holtz has little gears that might work. Your stitching is so well done! Thank you for sharing…

Wow! so close on the bird piece now! :D with dmc E-series. it is not fun to work with, but i think it would look the best. But it is horrible to stitch with. my tutankhamun piece and my long dog both uses it and it looks good, but you really need to work with short strands and have a good mood kind of day. and dont worry about the give away! :) life and health comes first no matter what =) really nice to see you back! :D
The one with the C is Etoile DMC. The one with the E is DMC light effects, which is a metallic and is the devil’s butt hair to work with. I would definitely choose the C820 which is so much nicer to work with, I’ve used it on several projects and it is beautiful stitched up.

If hubby is into DIY why not order some DIY charms and glue them around the frame? The little girl in her frame looks amazing, what sort of paint did you use to repaint it, I'd like to give something like that a try The red flower really does pop in the black frame it looks amazing! The doc sounds a bit of a butcher, did you make a complaint? How about a wooden floss holder card with the details of the retreat etched/burnt into it or a scissor fob personalised to the retreat group
I used cheap paint from the craft store. Nothing fancy. The retreat I go to is not for stitchers. They do all sorts of crafts but a scissor fob with the retreat information is a great idea!
