I've been on softball fever since this match at the Olympics, so happy to see softball back on the olympic line up!! i loved the competitive spirit and brilliant plays in this match.
One of the most heart wrenching games of the Olympics for me. Really wanted this one for USA and i felt every bit of grief this loss cause them. They had played so well all season. Beaten Japan twice in the world champs and had a perfect 5-0 this Olympics tournament, only to loose in the final round which counted the most. They played exceptionally well nevertheless and have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of!
Why are you so blind? For you Japan has no merit at all?. What a shame, don't you see USA is going going down IN EVERY FIELD? usa IS IN FULL DECADENCE!
Lol I would have hoped in the OLYMPICS the women would have gotten a legit softball field. Not a baseball field with a temporary outfield wall, a temporary mound, and bringing the bases in. Looks so make-shift having no dirt in the infield and just having the bases sitting on grass. I say this as a baseball and softball lover, it just makes the whole experience seem cheap having the two best softball teams in the world competing for a gold medal on a make-shift field.

The point is that it’s been given a spot in the Olympics, I think it’s reasonable for the athletes to expect to be given facilities and fields that are standard for their sport. Like they said, softball and baseball are both popular in Japan. There are likely many fine softball fields that this could have been held at in Japan.

The problem countries in certain sports is that many of the players play on their Olympics teams for many years and are much older than the players they are competing with. Not sure about softball but you see the same players over and over again. Cuba did it for many years in Olympic Boxing.

That was a result of the winning pitcher’s dominance. She’s been Japan’s ace for 15 years. Their 2nd arm is A+, she will lead them going forward into the next olympics. So, no not the world, just Japan. They practice 8 hours a day, like a job.

It's okay to overrun first base, so it's better to run faster. Head sliding is stupid. 2nd or 3rd base must be seated on the base. So by sliding it stops at the base.

This was the medal of the Olympics for me. So emotional to see Ueno close it out at hone after 13 years since they won in Beijing. Brilliant game.

I know I don't live in Canada but I will move if that means I could have the opportunity to play for their amazing team. You can feel the love and support they have for each other.
