    Thank you for the interesting video. I am also not sure when I should use CCT. I used CPT before. Maybe a video would be great which explains the difference. The performance is of course a huge point in the decision

      It's a pleasure to know you enjoyed the video! To decide if you need to use CCT, answer these simple questions about your project prnt.sc/_CJFDdJHCT2q from this article: crocoblock.com/blog/custom-content-type-brand-new-data-storage-approach/
      Hopefully, it will help ❤️

    Crocoblock itself advises on its website to use CPTs and not CCTs if every post needs its own page and/or the number of posts is not huge, so I’m confused why using CCTs would be recommended in this use case…

      Let us share the extended article about Custom Content Types where we tried to explain in the best way when they should be used crocoblock.com/blog/custom-content-type-brand-new-data-storage-approach/

    Many thanks for this tutorial. The first reason why I'm not ready for CCT is that, in 80% of my projects, I will need Gutenberg to edit post content

      We are happy to know you like this tutorial! ❤️ Sorry, it's not clear enough why you see the problem about using CCTs. When you create a CCT, all fields (including title, description/content) should be put into meta fields. When you connect CCT to a CPT, you can choose which field should be used for the title and which one the description.
      Since the Post Content is taken from the meta field of the CCT, there is no point to duplicate it and create it from scratch, the data is already there.

      @@Crocoblock Thanks for your clarifications. My problem concern how I edit post content. With CPT, I can create post content and design it the way I want with Gutenberg blocks, even by adding Gutenberg add-ons be more creative. Or with CCT, I can only edit the content with WYSIWYG. If there's a way to use Gutenberg with CCT, I will immediately switch to CCT.

    • @Crocoblock
      @Crocoblock  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      CCT content can be added to the meta field only. But it may consist of many meta fields. Then you create a single post template and style it up with Gutenberg blocks. JetThemeCore plugin has the option to create single post templates in Gutenberg.

    How can you create a custom single page that show the cct in it and link it to the listing content? Thanks for every videos in this channel ❤

    • @Crocoblock
      @Crocoblock  ปีที่แล้ว

      Warm welcome ❤️
      The custom single page is created for the related CPT: prnt.sc/AXXtl95JVpn-
      So you should create a single post template for the related CPT and display the meta field values from your CCT there.

      @Crocoblock can we not double that by make the page work with cct without connecting it with cpt page as theme to display the cct content?

    I am wondering one one side we try to optimized WP when using JetEngine CCT however when we enable Has Single Page option and link it to Related Post Type (as Post) and then link Title/Content Fields it Adds news records under Post (with Title/Content) and all the Meta Fields in CCT Table. I dont understand the logic on one side we try to optimize WP for Performance on otherside we again add data in as Post?

    I just finished building my first homepage with elementor & jetengine. But it's funny.
    Iam exploring how this homepage's content can be dynamic so I build a cct. But almost all widget I used in the homepage, won't show the content sourced from that cct. (E.g. For the hero section, I use the default Title elementor's widget and animated text from croco but it's always return with fallback). Trying with cpt as well. However if I use listing grid widget, it's working. But I definitely won't use listing grid to display content that is not a listing right?
    After carefully reading documentations/tuts related to cct, cpt, dynamic field, dynamic visibility, and jetengine, Im still clueless why it's only working with listing grid?
    then I created option page. Turns out it's working. I created whole new meta field using option page. in elementor, I use default elementor title widget, dynamic field, dynamic image, etc to show the content sourced from that meta fields in the option page I created.
    I mean it's fine as long as it's working. But I was like...whyyy? Not cct not cpt but option page. Why croco why? Am I missing something here?
    This is not requesting a troubleshoot but I'm dead wondering why and what did I missed @crocoblock

      Make sure please you created a listing for your CCT first and then added a listing grid widget on your home page :)

      If you want to display only 1 post via the listing grid widget, check this option, please prnt.sc/mTPdDf9jh7Jd
      In case you enabled a custom query, the number of posts displayed in the listing grid is controlled by this option: prnt.sc/GHzQCoRPEcQe

    Unfortunately JetEngine CCTs are still lacking in some of the functionality you would expect to be able to use for a database structure - or at least the documentation is seriously lacking.
    For example, I'm currently trying to figure out how to create a form Select field populated from an Employees CCT. The field would use the row ID for the value and the employee name for the label, and then be sorted by last name and only select active employees. It's very easy query to write in SQL, but JetForm builder doesn't take advantage of this. I could use WPDB to write the query and build a select field, but I haven't figured out a way to incorporate this into a JetForm Builder form.
    The other thing that isn't well developed and/or documented is creating relationships between CCTs in a way that allows for storing data child tables. I want to create a tutoring application which will allow me to link students and tutors in a student-tutors table with many to many relationships on both the students and the tutors table.

      Hello! 🙂
      Let us recommend using the Generate Dynamically option to display the ordered list of CCT items in the form jetformbuilder.com/features/multi-optional-field-source-settings/
      crocoblock.com/knowledge-base/jetengine/jetengine-query-builder-sql-query-type/
      You can create many-to-many relations between your CCTs. crocoblock.com/knowledge-base/features/relations-overview/
      If something doesn't work for you, contact our support team and describe your issue in detail, please crocoblock.com/help-center/
      Your use case may help us to understand which tool is not fully described so that we can improve our knowledge base.

    • @jhamaker
      @jhamaker ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Crocoblock The problem with the Generate Dynamically option is it doesn't give the option to select a specific CCT or to filter the fields. If the same ID column name appears in multiple tables it will pull the data from multiple tables.
      For example, If I generate dynamically from database and I want full_name, it will give me the entries for all tables that have a full_name field. In my case I have a CCT for Staff and another for Board Members. Both have a full_full name field. Also, I can't filter to show only Staff that have an employment_status = Active.
      Ideally I should have the option to select the CCT to pull data from, the column to use for the value, and the column to use for the label (so I only need to store the ID rather than the name), and then the option to filter based on a some condition (Department=Finance, Employment Status=Active, Position=Manager, etc).
      I haven't played around too much with relationships because I haven't been able to get beyond this issue with the Select menu.

      Could you try to create an SQL Query and select the table you want to use? prnt.sc/I6Z3zRzvBS9J Each CCT is stored in a separate table. It's also possible to query cct items by any meta field, for example: prnt.sc/ArdDt1bs8COl Please, contact our support team for clarification of your question- crocoblock.com/help-center/. We will do our best to assist you with finding a solution.
