Yes, I think it was gorgeous. So it would be fun if the UK appoint Jamey and sherpa as ambassadors. To promote the country. I was a few times in England. But sure want to explore more... starting at the bottom of England, than Wales, Scotland, Nord Ireland, returning back to Scotland, then England... think I need a couple of months to make that tour and see something...

It's cool to see clean sand and then only Sherpa's paw prints as he runs to the water. He is such a happy puppy when he gets in the sand and starts digging. It is unbelievable the places you find where you are the only person. Such solitude and peaceful. We so appreciate you taking us on your road trips. So glad I found your channel about six months ago and you are my favorite. The first thing I look for when I go on TH-cam and hope there is a new posting. Jaime, you have such patience and are such a kind, caring Dad to our prize possession, Sherpa! Love to you both!

It's a lot of narrow track roads - it's 2 way but only wide enough for one vehicle. There are a lot of passing places. But a stunning fun drive to do 🏴
When Sherpa was drinking the water I was thinking '"I wonder if he likes Scottish water." A few seconds later you said "Scottish water." Spooky

Sherp really seems to love a nice sandy patch. Every time he gets onto the sand he has a cheeky little dig. And he gets so lively on the beach! Lovely to see him romping.

Lots of wow's, but for those of us who do not know what the NC500 is I had to look it up, beautiful. It reminds me of Iceland and even parts of Canada.
Going to wee in all that wind, it is a risky proposition ... in all likelihood he will wet his front legs while at it ... he he he ;-)
Given your rathers, I would do exactly what you did ... camp in the van by the side of the road. What a glorious adventure!!!
Ha ha I was thinking something similar about when Sherpie needed to go toilet in all that wind! The first stop they made it seemed like Sherpa looked back at Jamie as if he was worried that if he went poop it would fly away LOL! 🤣😂 Yes and then there’s the ‘spray factor’ of weeing in the wind. 😂😂

That brings out good memories... my husband before the one I have now, had a van. We went everywhere in it. When he passed away I couldn't afford to keep it... but it's so nice to carry your bed with you and you stop wherever you find a nice spot... I am jealous now...

Scotland is stunning even in the rain ,im glad you did the 500 ,done it back in 2013 on a motorbike visiting my Uncle who lives on Skye ,it was an interesting wet windy white knuckle ride but so worth it ❤🏴

we surveyed 100 huskies/malamutes about where they would like to live. 99 said a snow-covered mountain house, only 1 (Sherpa) said a soft sandy beach....... he seems so energetic running on the beach and doing a quick dig.

Reason for the house spacing is historical. Back in the day each crofter was allocated a "run rig" to grow food. Houses were spaced accordingly.
Jamie and Sherpie..what a pleasure to walk/ride along with you on you Scottish adventures. We are retired and live in Washington State and planned to see the USA with our sweet Golden Retriever Hunny..my husbands retirement began March 2020 😂 😂 so much for the best laid plans. You managed to work out all the kinks the “issues/troubles” brought on with pandemic… and, have an amazing time together! Our wish list does include Scotland..my husbands ancestors are from Glasgow.. i wish we could bring our girl with us..she would love the beaches.. I’m astonished you had such wonderful weather so early in the year. We haven’t’ had 2 days in a row with 🌞 yet. God Bless you both for all the joy you bring to so many!

i've watched so many of your videos jamie, but i think for me this one is definitely one of my favourites.. I'm originally from edinburgh but seeing these scenic views on your travels, honestly I could watch them over and over again.. there's something just so very theraputic. Also had a thought- next book should be a travel guide of all the places you have gone and the best places would have a paw print for Sherpa's approval and/or a pic him posing at the spots. What fun!

Watching your video today on Tuesday April 5, 2022 at 10:16 AM while we are under a “severe thunderstorm warning with the potential of tornadoes” throughout today and tomorrow. My first tornado experience was during the 1974 Super Outbreak when I was in the fourth grade and we, my parents and six siblings lived directly across the expressway from Hartsville International Airport when a tornado went over our house and threw a tree through the top of our house. At that time, we lived in Mountain View, Georgia in Clayton County, and three blocks behind our house are the railroad tracks that would have freight trains stopping at the FORD MOTOR PLANT in Hapeville, Georgia. Tornadoes do not sound just like freight trains. With the airplanes flying out of and coming into Hartsville International Airport going over our house 24/7/365, tornadoes sound as if thousands and thousands airplanes coming at once, and throw into that noise, a sound of a wailing woman. This was not my only tornado experience, in fact my husband and kids tease me about tornadoes finding me. I have always called tornadoes “wind dancing”. One tornado was coming down I-85 southbound while my husband and 4 boys were on their way back home after spending an hour at his mother’s house.

Stunning video, I'm so glad you choose the wonderful, near magical Scotland to visit. I don't think it's my imagination that Scotland suits both you and Sherpa. Being able to enjoy the mesmerizing wild beauty and serenity daily would be tempting if one did not have familial roots elsewhere.

While I know it isn't at all practical, I can't help wishing you guys could come to the US and see Sherpa swim in the Pacific, visit the high plains, see the Southwest or go to the Ozarks. It would be so cool.

Last went to Scotland
in 1972 !
Got as far as Mallaig.
Overnight, it only got
as dark as dusk !
Climbed the "mountain "
nearby, amazing view
from the top : all hills,
lakes, mountains,
couldn't see any buildings
from way up there !
From Mallaig area you
can see Skye(?), Rhum,
and Eigg (?) .
Wonder if Mrs McGillivray
is still there?!😊
Alongside some roads
around there, on the way,
we saw boulders and
rocks : white ( quartz?),
with sparkly bits that
caught the sun and
looked like running water.
Think the sparkly bits
might be mica ?
Must google it...

Beatiful ride, Jamie. I've never been to UK but I know a little from movies and magazines. If you're going to Skye, perhaps you could do just a little detour (no more than a few miles) up to Eilean Donan Castle, and show us its gorgeous surroundings. You can see the castle to the left (south) from the bridge that connects mainland Scotland with Skye Island. And of course, don't miss Portree, a gorgeous town with a spectacular bay. Godspeed.
