Never done it before and no idea if it will last but it had to worth a go. It's a simple process though.

Glad to see you used white vinegar! I did recommend it couple vids ago, but when you remove from vinegar wash item in a water and bicarb of soda mix, it prevents flash rust, just spray some gt85 or sim on it

On your anode (positive) only have nickel in the solution otherwise you risk contaminating the plating solution. If you support your parts with copper cable you can get a good gauge of the plating process as you will see the colour contrast more easily.
I also found a load of luck really helped... 🤣

Nat, firstly please excuse my ignorance. I understand nickel is a dull silver colour, however your bolts appear black. What am I missing ?
