I'll forever wonder how we've given Sky Moore seemingly unlimited chances but can't get Justyn Ross consistent playing time. Like give him Sky Moore's spot, not like he could do worse.
Justyn Ross can't be that bad at knowing the offense. Not after this long. He has to be in the doghouse or something. In the camp he was noted as 1 of the top WRs on our squad getting separation. He's 6'4 and he has speed. He was projected to be better than Tee Higgins, yet doesn't really get a chance
I have been banging the desk for Ross since training camp. If you’re bringing in Fortson at tight end then why not bring in Ross. He’s the same player at a white out spot and in my opinion is more versatile. If you want to split out Kelsey then use Ross at the end of the line to be in the way like a Fortson at tight end.
There is a reason why he hasnt broke out like his University mate, Higgins... Sometimes you just are what you are... And also the Chiefs don't really use his skill set in their offense and he is limited in the rest of the receiver route tree.
The problem lies with the OL. There's jus not enough time or they not stalling enough to give PM more time in the pocket, they collapse way quickly hence the red zone conversion rate suckx
While true I also see #15 missing a good amount of opportunities when bailing or watching pocket around him instead of looking at reads and connecting. Line has given this man ptsd…and I honestly feel like our tackle situation has sucked since SB against Bucs.

Although separation tends to be a stable statistic, 2024 doesn’t yet have enough data for conclusions. But using much more data the bigger point is accurate; Diontae Johnson is a good separator against single coverage. We will get to a sample size error, a rather big one, later The right side of the chart describes how often a receiver faces single coverage and says more about other receivers on the field. A receiver towards the left of the chart would potentially jump to the right if lining up with Xavier Worthy and Travis Kelce. For example, Christian Kirk and Diontae Johnson would likely chart very similarly if playing in Kansas City. Before I continue, my standard disclaimer: I’m not optimistic about an unfamiliar WR quickly acclimating to a Reid offense. That said, I concede the Chiefs may need to take a pot, depending on Brown, information us fans just don't have. As for Diontae Johnson’s potential salary cap hit, I question the $7M base used for calculation. Unlike a signing bonus, I believe the $3M roster bonus would follow Johnson in a trade. If correct, $10M is the more accurate base to prorate over the remaining season. I think you should revisit your enthusiasm for Darius Slayton as in PUMP THE BRAKES HARD! This is where looking at a small sample size, such as just a few games, can blow up an analysis. Looking at career-long statistics, Darius Slayton has been a below average separator. For confirmation, his grades against man coverage are well below Diontae Johnson. If that’s not enough to steer you away, consider his drop history, a statistic people strangely overlook. His career drop tendency on deep balls is nearly double that of MVS, right up there with Justin Watson! If that’s still not enough, he also has a high drop tendency on short passes, a ticking time bomb. Slayton is one leverage drop from a tipped ball interception to remind fans of Kadarius Toney without the upside potential. There’s no way Slayton would earn Mahomes’ trust… a wasted trade. If you want a second option to Johnson, Christian Kirk is a more interesting possibility although the salary cap hit would be bigger (prorating $16.4M). Kirk’s contract runs through 2025 ($16.5M) which provides valuable flexibility. Kirk is a slightly better separator than Johnson, and ranks higher against man coverage. Kirk is faster than Johnson but both have a high drop rate deep, suggesting limited usage long. Kirk has shown much better hands at other levels. I personally think that’s important and no small part of why I favor Kirk over Johnson. Lastly, the most economical option, would be to bring both MVS and Mike Williams and actually reduce salary cap expenditures compared to Watson and Moore (-$1.2M over 11 games). I believe Moore’s role is now reduced to sitting on the bench watching Watson run cardio. Williams isn’t a consistent separator but compensates with ball skills rating considerably higher than Johnson against man, just slightly better against zone. While advantageous to red zone, reliance on ball skills has never been part of Mahomes’ play book. Injury history is another consideration. While Williams’ production (quantity) hasn’t been consistent, when healthy, his quality measures have. Williams is a very good receiver but would require Mahomes to adapt yet again to get full benefit of Williams’ skills. If the Jets are holding out to get blown away, we can certainly root for the Steelers and Texans to do exactly that before the trade deadline. At best, Jalin Hyatt would be a project, not a quick contributor.
Given the Chiefs record for re-hiring, I understand why you suggest MVS, but I hope not. Have we learned nothing? What's the point of having the best QB out there yet never give him a great WR1? I realize this year is an anomoly, but are they serious about a 3-peat? Or even getting to the playoffs? They need more than an MVS to do that IMO. The only thing I'd understand is a decision to get a great left tackle instead. Since I can't think of any of those available, we're back to WR. Sheesh, at this rate, we might as well go nab Toney off of his practice squad! (I want Toney back about as much as I want MVS.)
I wouldn't be surprised but rather happy if Veach signs David Bakthiari if he's deemed fit for the important part of the season and trade for Hassan Reddick.. To me strengthening the defense even further and left side is good enough with the KCs current game plan. I swear these signings if successful (health wise) will make this team even deadlier..Davante or Amari are not going to do much if PM gets pressured on the edges. Strengthening the edge rush will make our secondary even deadly with impending availability of Omenihu
MVS closed out multiple postseason games last year alone. Yeah he choked a couple games in the season and had crap #'s while he was surrounded by Toney and Skyy. Playing the 3rd or 4th instead of wr1 and playing on the field with JuJu and Worthy is a solid move. I say sign him and trade for another and cut Moore and we have a competent wr room again.
Thought: Trade for an offensive lineman that will not cost them momentum, yardage, & 1st downs!!! EVERY GAME - how much yardage is lost to same stupid penalties? How many first downs lost? Even if our WR aren't necessarily studs, Juju is solid, Worthy should develop. Hardman and Watson can make plays, but we also have a solid room of receiving tight ends with gray, fortson, hopefully wiley, and of course Travis KELCE.
@@DwainWilsonJr as much as I would love to see Metcalf and Mahomes, this would probably not be the best move for the franchise - long term. We don't need some expensive wide receiver, we have good pass catchers they are just hurt.

I'd be pretty stoked with Slayton. I think he he would flourish in Rice's role. I could see him actually being a star slot receiver. That said, I'd love to go with a rookie contract guy that just hasn't had a chance to pop in a system.
Call me crazy but with WR trades that went down, KC should double down on defence and add a pass rusher Pacheco coming back later in the season our WR aren’t great but our TE room is really good use them and lean even more on the power run game especially when Pacheco comes back No team is beating Pat with a reliable power run game, ball control and a defence that can get stops.
Pringle, renfrow, johnson, slayton, hyatt, even michael thomas, any of them could work. Also, signing back Donovan smith couldn't hurt. But i dont know now that all 53 spots are filled. They gotta figure something out. Mainly, fix the redzone woes.
I want scandlings scouting reconnaissance about how Allen likes to do things faxed over to Spagnolo....Spaggs will find a way to put it to use 😁 just in case we meet them in the playoffs and need a big 3rd down stop.. scandlings a vet... He learned something new surely... I doubt we trade to get a wr I'll be surprised... I think we could def get the guy from giants if anyone nice work Cole
The cap space being a hard limit is so annoying sometimes. Like right now when you're in a pickle. Wouldn't it be nice if the NFL made this scenario less stressful on teams/fans by incorporating some flexibility into every team's current avaliable space, just for the scenario that the Chiefs, along with so many other teams find themselves in at the moment. For example, adding a certain ammount of extra cap space based on the ammount of injuries at the moment or more added cap space for a player with more precieved value that they add to the team. They could add about 5 million per injured player. Just my thought. Do you think this could be feasible Does anyone else agree? I think fans from each team should start a petition to the NFL.
Some very nice options out there for as the wr needs. Veach has got to make some kind of move because the injury monster is real deal across the entire league! Make a move plz and thank you...
MVS does seem like a likely scenario, now, all right. But they're hard to predict, sometimes. If they stay to the general plan, they'll definitely bring MVS back. If they decide they need the juice there, to save their season, they could go all in and have me wringing my hands, like I did when they brought in Sammy. I loved the Tyreek Hill trade. It was a KC version of the Herschel Walker trade. It gave them a big boost. I don't want to get stuck in a sunk-cost fallacy, but I prefer the picks coming in, rather than going out. I want them to compete at the highest level year in and year out, and that means keeping a lid on the compensation.
I'm not horrified by MVS like most people. He just needs to avoid mistakes on critical plays during the regular season. (Which are a bit horrifying) He's a decent value proposition. I have to imagine that contested catches may become more common as time goes on so I'd err on the heavier guy given the team is already disposed towards the TE's and run game this year. You have plenty of deep speed, doesn't help (as much) if Mahomes has no time in the pocket. If both Johnson and Slayton get good separation, either guy would be great IMO.
Dionte Johnson for a 4th and resigning him to a roughly 3 year 40-45mill contract would be a great move. We need a receiver for this year and next. Holywood, Watson, JuJu, Hardman, are all Free agents. Rashee Rice will likely not be available till week 5-6 next year and Travis Kelce could retire. They need to get more than a short term WR. This time next year your active WR could be Xavier Worthy and Skye Moore lol.
I like Diontae, but I don't see the Panthers parting ways with him since it's his first year on the team and he's pretty much their entire receiving offense. Legette shows promise, but he's clearly not ready for WR1 duties yet. Slayton would probably be more likely since Nabers is doing so well.
Seeing sky and clyde on the team actually pisses me off. They suck. But because we wasted good draft picks on them, they get unlimited chances I guess. Cut them both
I was hoping that Moore would come around start tearing it up but like you said he couldnt even catch a cold. Time to let him go. I wouldn’t be so worried if there wasn’t so many injuries but I’m kinda sweating it for this weekend. But hey, the boys will find a way.🙏🏽
MVS is in the cards for sure. Slayton and Johnson are both good enough for this year. Pick one of them up with MVS signing on, drop Moore, and ride with that. We would have speed down field in Worthy, Hardman and MVS, then route running in Juju, Kelce, and Johnson/Slayton, and crafty play with Gray, Watson, and Perine, then finally power with Hunt, Steele, and (eventually) Pacheco. That's the plan.
I dont think the Giants would trade any WR before the trade deadline. Daboll is coaching is save his job, unless they fire him prior to the trade deadline and put the whole team on a fire sale.
I believe, Reid will go with what they have. 4 running backs, 2 not bad at catching ,4 tight ends, 1 fast gadget guy,.He will turn his play page, and give us all something to talk about. I ve been a Chiefs fan since the late 60s. It's probably going to be awhile, for a 3peet Reid has to dial-up new things.
The WR situation is going to depend on how well the team does these next couple weeks with an increased focus on the power run game and multiple tight end sets. Worthy is already playing the MVS position much more capably, Juju has stepped up to fill the Rice position and Watson and a mixture of TEs are doing everything else. If this is the right chemistry to win games, there's no reason to bring anyone else in unless another injury happens.
As long as the receiver can catch a football, he will absolutely move the needle to help. We just need SOMEONE to add to what we already have. Plus, the chiefs are great at utilizing lower tier receivers.
CAR is my home team with KC being my 2nd home team as I've spent 14 of my 39 years living in MO/KS so with what you layed out I think Johnson would be a good fit however it would not surprise me if they bring back MVS
Isn't D-hop kind of a primadonna who keeps getting hurt since leaving Houston. He is not what he used to be and I don't think a good fit in the locker room.
I'm sure the Chiefs are looking at options to sure up the WR room based on injuries. I'd be happy to have MVS back and am not opposed to having a guy like Dionte or Darius brought in either.
Agree. Or I also like the idea of Ihmir Smith-Marsette. Anyone else remember how good he looked in pre-season? Plus I watched him play at Iowa. He'd also be easy to get on a cheap minimum deal.
Veach wil make a move because I think he knows if something happens to any of our starters our floor drops out. Any of these guys don’t raise the ceiling but they keep the pace and floor from dropping out with sky.
For the long term, they can't get desperate and trade their long term stability. They do have talent in the roster they have yet to exercise. They have 3 talented receivers on the practice squad, sit Moore and elevate 2 of these guys!
Seems like the RB Room is set all those tight ends are helping Block for the run game just give us something like Ross for the WR i do like Johnson too
I like D Johnson if we want long term and can afford it. D Slayton is a gamer tho so I'd be good with that no prob. Other 2nd teamer or practice squad guys I'm interested in: Isaah McKensie from Pats....Ashton Dulin from Colts...
Someone mentioned that Etienne RB might be available. A proven 1,000 yd back to solidify the RB room and take some of the pressure off QB1 … until they figure out the OLT situation. Demote Sky Moore to practice squad and let Clyde catch passes out of the backfield.

Can you imagine winning the 3-peat with other teams castoffs?
That would be awesome
I hate that they're going for MVS
Go chiefs
I'd be pretty stoked with Slayton. I think he he would flourish in Rice's role. I could see him actually being a star slot receiver. That said, I'd love to go with a rookie contract guy that just hasn't had a chance to pop in a system.
Call me crazy but with WR trades that went down, KC should double down on defence and add a pass rusher
Pacheco coming back later in the season our WR aren’t great but our TE room is really good use them and lean even more on the power run game especially when Pacheco comes back
No team is beating Pat with a reliable power run game, ball control and a defence that can get stops.
Chiefs have bigger issues at both tackle positions.
Can we say... Donovan Smith.. 🤷♂️
Sean mc911 is top tier gas 😂😂
Pringle, renfrow, johnson, slayton, hyatt, even michael thomas, any of them could work. Also, signing back Donovan smith couldn't hurt. But i dont know now that all 53 spots are filled. They gotta figure something out. Mainly, fix the redzone woes.
I didn't like mvs in the regular season, but he did catch balls in the playoffs. I hope veach at least sends an offer.
Taking the family to the Chiefs vs Bucks game!
Thumbs up for Diontae Johnson. Let's go
It would be hard to get Cincy to do it, but Tee Higgins would be a nice trade target.
I like these two options
Now let’s make it happen before it’s too late so we can solidify this three peat
Let’s go
The cap space being a hard limit is so annoying sometimes.
Personally I think Kc should use remaining money on depth at Left tackle When we lost the one Super Bowl Patrick was running for his life.
God I swear if we get MVS back and nothing else, I might just go insane.
I'm not horrified by MVS like most people. He just needs to avoid mistakes on critical plays
during the regular season. (Which are a bit horrifying) He's a decent value proposition. I
have to imagine that contested catches may become more common as time goes on so
I'd err on the heavier guy given the team is already disposed towards the TE's and run game
this year. You have plenty of deep speed, doesn't help (as much) if Mahomes has no time in
the pocket.
Hopkins
Seeing sky and clyde on the team actually pisses me off. They suck. But because we wasted good draft picks on them, they get unlimited chances I guess. Cut them both
Sean mc911 😂😂😂
Demarcus Robinson, but I would really like to see them address the OL. This turnstile @ LT is not going to give me a heart attack.
Go get Jalin Hyatt. I wanted to draft him in the 2023 draft even after drafting Rice.
No mvs
Not even a chiefs fan but I fw the content
I'm Not joking.... I actually completely forgot about Skyy Moore until you mentioned him.
CAR is my home team with KC being my 2nd home team as I've spent 14 of my 39 years living in MO/KS so with what you layed out I think Johnson would be a good fit however it would not surprise me if they bring back MVS
I still really want D-hop. Maybe Demarcus Robinson is available from the Rams instead?
Isn't D-hop kind of a primadonna who keeps getting hurt since leaving Houston. He is not what he used to be and I don't think a good fit in the locker room.
@j.c.luther3992he wants a ring
@@j.c.luther3992he wants a ring
I'm sure the Chiefs are looking at options to sure up the WR room based on injuries. I'd be happy to have MVS back and am not opposed to having a guy like Dionte or Darius brought in either.
Go get Mike Willy and LFG
Agree. Or I also like the idea of Ihmir Smith-Marsette. Anyone else remember how good he looked in pre-season? Plus I watched him play at Iowa. He'd also be easy to get on a cheap minimum deal.
I like your thought process but, what's it going to cost? We don't have much cap room.
We would love to have mvs back. He’s honestly the best candidate. He already knows the system
If there is a year where you go for it, it’s this one. A chance to threepeat does not happen very often
Brady being paid what he is to "broadcast" is like Giselle being paid to model Amazon Boxes in a pitch black room.
My blood pressure can't handle MVS back on active roster.
I heard Michael Irvin and Randy Moss are available as well... They can learn the system pretty quick
😂😂😂
Veach wil make a move because I think he knows if something happens to any of our starters our floor drops out. Any of these guys don’t raise the ceiling but they keep the pace and floor from dropping out with sky.
For the long term, they can't get desperate and trade their long term stability. They do have talent in the roster they have yet to exercise. They have 3 talented receivers on the practice squad, sit Moore and elevate 2 of these guys!
MVYES!
Seems like the RB Room is set all those tight ends are helping Block for the run game just give us something like Ross for the WR i do like Johnson too
Bring up Justyn Ross! He is a big body receiver and great at 50/50 balls. He would be better help in the red zone and blocking help if lined up inside
I wanted Cooper
can you break down how we can get D Hopkins I dont mind this trade neither but would prefer the first.
Darius Slayton
diontae would be awesome him or amari is what i was hoping
I like D Johnson if we want long term and can afford it. D Slayton is a gamer tho so I'd be good with that no prob. Other 2nd teamer or practice squad guys I'm interested in: Isaah McKensie from Pats....Ashton Dulin from Colts...
Someone mentioned that Etienne RB might be available. A proven 1,000 yd back to solidify the RB room and take some of the pressure off QB1 … until they figure out the OLT situation. Demote Sky Moore to practice squad and let Clyde catch passes out of the backfield.
Please sign MVS! He played great for the Chiefs in the playoffs and helped win the SB!
He too inconsistent in the regular season he can’t catch a cold
@@FatboyReg He got better in the playoffs! Why you got to be so negative?
No one is going to trade with us.
