I must say the work for hte modding team is truly amazing, shame GOT games dont get the love it needs, and this work is both much appreciated and wanted
The idea of stealing dragons as random houses to change the course of the game is very appealing. Getting a dragon as like the Starks and using its power to gain independance, or getting one as King beyond the wall and using it to take down the Watch
@@Midgeman But you can kidnap the dragon riders and recruit them. Meaning you get a dragon in around about way. But make sure to mary these dragon riders, otherwise your kidnapped Tagaryons will flee/marry away after some time behind the Wall, leaving you without their Dragon. It's quite fun making the triangular Targaryen trade, slowly merging their Family into yours and converting the realm, one kidnapping at the time, to old faith cannibalism.
Something you didn’t mention about the Anti-Dragon Warfare innovation is that you also get the scorpion men at arms unit, as well as the building, which means you have some options fighting against dragons in the field as well. @@Midgeman like the normal griddy except either 1. You have the silver blonde hair 2. You’re banging your relative(don’t recommend) or 3. Hitting the griddy while on dragon-back
For what it's worth you can still manage to hatch a Dragon with a non-dragon blood ruler. My adventurer had no dragon blood on his own but he did collect as much of Dragon Lore as he could from visiting all the sites. But what really helped him and this was with the blood sacrifice option along with using a Volcanic site like Dragonstone for the ceremony, but also more importantly he had married Daenerys who has Dragonblood of course, along with a few of the kids they had also had dragon blood and contributed to the blood ritual was able to hatch a Dragon Egg successfully. Keeping in mind this is under the game rule that limits egg hatching to dragon blood/riders. So essentially if you can get the most extravagant ceremony you can and as many Taregaryn blood involved, even your own children with one, it's still possible since technically dragon blood people where involved in the hatching even if your ruler isn't. Limited it to only family as well.
I unfortunately just caused a dragon egg to explode and killed half my house and infant children. The other half are all horribly burned and disfigured A+ rated outcome.
Important to add here is that you have to be landed to recieve eggs from your Dragon. Had a fertile dragon and played as an Adventurer and didn't get a single Egg for 30 Years. Conquered something and got two clutches back to back.
I'm playing a Reyne cousin who survived and was a minor vassal in the Riverlands. I now have 4 dragons and am slowly burning my way to paramountcy. Ultimate goal is to burn Casterly Rock to a crisp. The save file is called Rains of Casterly Rock
I was hoping this would also cover how to actually get eggs. Planning on bringing Dragons back as Rhaegar, but unsure of how I will find an egg. I'm sure I'll figure it out.
It's random through adventurers! I only had this confirmed after the video was fully produced - I'll make an updated video if I can in the coming days if there's enough other content to go in You require an adventure with the adventurer trait to go on an legendary expedition
@@Midgeman Oh, okay, interesting! I appreciate the response. I had a submod (I say had because I stopped playing for a while in anticipation of this update) that let you send expeditions to Valyria which was fun and often did yield eggs, so maybe that will submod will update, but from my understanding: This adventure is like the Royal Court expedition where somebody asks you to fund their expedition? Or is it sort of like the choosing to hold a hunting event. I am happy to patiently wait to find out but you seem to know a little, for which I am grateful. Lovely video by the way, the only one I've watched to avoid hype overload, but it looked and was helpful.
Yes exactly that, a royal court explorer, but the explore needs the adventurer trait first! Glad you enjoyed the video! I've been working on it for months talking back and forth with he dev team!
Hey I have a question how do you increase the chance of bonding with a wild dragon because I died and I didn't have a dragon pit yet and I can't seem too take it
The traits of the dragon itself increase taming chance. And then your own traits matching them slightly in personality. Also if you get a dragon pit, you can have your dragon tamer help you
So the damage modifier from advantage is +5% per? I saw in the dev diary it said that, but the ck3 wiki says it's +2%, and when I see the battles like the ones you have in this video it looks like it's +2% per, so I'm just so confused as to what the actual number is
I love the way my head doesn't get dizzy with this much information. Anw, I have a question: since the dragons could have a mate like Vermithor with Silverwing, does this mating system happen automatically? And if it does happen automatically, how did the program choose which dragon would mate with which dragon? Does they need to be inside the same dragon pit/pen? Or is there a way that players could arrange for the dragons to mate or something? Sorry for the not-so-simple question, lol.
Hey! Honestly, I'm not sure I have the full breakdown of the mechanics (maybe I can find a developer to answer this) But as far as I know, mating pairs are randomly made by dragons who share a dragonpit. If dragons are canonically coupled, there might be some weight to this
@@Midgeman Thanks for the confirmation man. I spent all my sleeping time just to build that expensive pit in Harrenhal so the wrong dragon that I wanted could mate with my beloved lady dragon lol. You helped me more than you think. Love your video
Amazing video! Only part that still confuses is how you actually get a dragon if you're not playing a custom character, and want to turn the Starks let's say into a dragonriding house? I get the parent dragonblood part, but when am I able to (successfully) bond or claim a wild dragon? If it nests nearby and I have dragonblood? And is building a dragonpit a prerequisite to taming dragons in the first place, or just a mechanic that stops them from going wild after their rider dies?
Thanks! As for your first question, it'll depend on your start date. If dragons are alive, you, as long as you have some dragon lore, some dragon blood and some trait similarities, there's always a slim chance you can tame a dragon... If you have access to it Dragonpits lock away dragons, so people cannot just random come try and tame a dragon that once belonged to a rider of your house. They're both a farm to keep them in for you, and a fortress to keep others out
yeah in my war against the reach i sadly had to use balerion the black dread to burn down the Highgarden keep was fun :) now in our timeline highgarden became the ruin and harrenhall is completly fine :)
7:48 wait, so do dragon-rider houses get less dragon blood if they marry outside the house, or is that only for non-dragon-riding houses? i'm confused since you used the same tree for the two explanations (dragon riding dragon blood and the lessening blood)
So, no matter who you are, if you're a dragon rider, you have 100% dragon blood. If two dragon riders have a kid, the kid will be 100% dragon blood. If only one parent is a dragon rider, it's 50, and it continues to half and half again from there
sounds like a bug, Id recommend starting again. Unless youve started beyond the wall, in that regard, no dragons can spawn in such a high magic and cold location
Hmm I wonder if it has the same tags as beyond the wall. TLDR theres a popup that prevents dragonriders taking dragons beyond the wall, forcing you into an egg start and if you try to hatch the egg before you make it south, it'll be a dud I recommend asking on the AGOT mod discord!
Great update video. Thank you for sharing. Does anyone know if the Dev makers are working on Harrenhal? If you rebuild it all the way through it shows a castle and not show has a runed state?
Really good video! I still have one more question, how do you actually get your dragon to lay eggs? Can they even do so without a dragon pit and/or a mate?
Basically dragons can have one clutch per age band the dragon is in once they hit adult, with a minimum of two clutches in their life time, A fertile dragon or a dragon with a mate will increase the clutch amounts but not in the same way human fertility works
Hey! amazing video! I have a question that doesn't seem to be answered in the video, do we know if during/post Robert's rebellion there is a mechanic to find dragon eggs? Or are the dragons only limited to the older start dates?
@@Midgeman its 00 agot dragon values in script values. I just wanted to check if a son whose parents are each 50% dragon blood would inherit from both and thus be 50% also.
I don't think it's necessary but it definitely makes elements easier, and some interactions are locked. I highly recommend getting royal court at the very least!
Hopefully they increase dragon fertility and which dragons are mates depending on of there riders are also mates. Also it blew my mind when i was like i hope you can control who has access to the Dragon Pit similar to the Knights Manager mod with battles and then u said it
Hey i have a question when playing i only had access to 3 start dates instead of 4, is there another mod in use to add them or do i have the wrong AGOT mod?
@@MateusVIII You can get dragons beyond the wall, you just have to kidnap the riders of them, recruit them and make them your Knights. Through this you get the advantage and battle events that dragons give.
Playing as Rhaegar, I've been trying for the last three hours and still can't get an egg to hatch. It always either cracks, explodes or does nothing. (edit: Thought I'd try it one more time and Huzzah we have a dragon!)
Hello, thanks for the video! But I have a question… I am a king and a dragon rider but I can't build my dragon pen, could you help me? Maybe it's because of some other mod I have? Greetings and thank you very much.
DLCs provide several mechanics but the game and the mod are fully playable without them. I do recommend the royal court and the tours and tournaments dlcs tho. Ck3 is a nerdy game, it's a lot the first time you open it, but you get used to it with time. You can jump right in to AGOT mod, but I recommend playing a run in ireland in vanilla ck3, it's the tutorial. Try unitying the kingdom and attempt forming the british empire as an irish (quite the challenge for a beginner) while you learn the mechanics. Then enjoy getting better and watching some tip vids
hey, i started the game as a minor lord in 282 and later i took the throne as Viserys Targaryen but despite visiting all the required places on the map i still can't do the ritual :( is there anything else i can do?
So the only 2 extra mods you need are the egg colours and temperament? Can you do this on the base AGOT mod and not use the mods? I thought you couldn’t😅🥹

He's actually not the most powerful in the dragon pit, but he does eat other dragons form time to time
Where do you find the decision to revive the dragons I’ve already visited all the locations I’m playing arrays because aegon dies to fast
Hey i have a question when playing i only had access to 3 start dates instead of 4, is there another mod in use to add them or do i have the wrong AGOT mod?
Nope! Correct mod, the new start dates and the dragon update is out on the 23rd
Is it going to be available for PS version also ?
Sadly not, the PlayStation version doesn't have mod support I don't thin
I want to see someone do a wildling dragonrider playthrough in which the objective is to burn to ash every single holding in the map
Sadly you cant have dragons beyond the wall
@@Midgeman How is this coded though? Can't I use ruler designer to spawn with a dragon beyond the wall?
@@MateusVIII You can get dragons beyond the wall, you just have to kidnap the riders of them, recruit them and make them your Knights. Through this you get the advantage and battle events that dragons give.
How can I make sure my game updates for this ? I haven’t been able to play with dragons
Its on the main version of the mod? Have you subscribed to it? If you have; have you tried unsubscribing and resubscribing
Playing as Rhaegar, I've been trying for the last three hours and still can't get an egg to hatch. It always either cracks, explodes or does nothing.
(edit: Thought I'd try it one more time and Huzzah we have a dragon!)
Awesome! congratulations!
when will it come out time?
I think 12:00 EST, not 100%
Do you know the console command to force the destined dragon event to start?
I do not! I'll look through the events tomorrow and see if I can find it!
Where can I find the mod that adds the earliest play start dates?
its the base mod as of now
Hello, thanks for the video! But I have a question… I am a king and a dragon rider but I can't build my dragon pen, could you help me? Maybe it's because of some other mod I have? Greetings and thank you very much.
Hey! Most AGOT submods aren't compatible with the update yet so it might be that? That or your realm already has one somewhere
ok thanks!! they can only be built in the special duchy square, right?
@@Yiyo59I don't think it's the special building for duchies, might be wrong
Correct, it goes in the standard build slot
Yes, I was able to do it and I was able to lock up the cannibal! Haha
Why when at war i use my custom overpower dragon but i dont get the advantages and not get any notifications while at war with my dragon
When is this mod coming?
The mod is out. The update that adds dragons to the mod is on the 23rd of August.
I believe noon EST on 23rd
Looking at getting i to ck3 with this...as a newbie to the series how much pain am i in for. And do i need dlcs 2 make this mod work?
DLCs provide several mechanics but the game and the mod are fully playable without them. I do recommend the royal court and the tours and tournaments dlcs tho. Ck3 is a nerdy game, it's a lot the first time you open it, but you get used to it with time. You can jump right in to AGOT mod, but I recommend playing a run in ireland in vanilla ck3, it's the tutorial. Try unitying the kingdom and attempt forming the british empire as an irish (quite the challenge for a beginner) while you learn the mechanics. Then enjoy getting better and watching some tip vids
Is this agot+ or regular agot? I have regular agot but dont see these new updates😭 what else do i install?
Its AGOT but the update isnt out till tomorrow!
I wish there was something similar with the Starks' Wolves like the dragons
Ooo Actual direwolf pets could be cool
Does anyone know if Aegon's conquest will be one of the potential start dates?
Not in the new patch no, it's Rogue Prince and Reign of the Conciliator
How many congenial traits can ones dragon start out with at once?
I've seen 3
Can you share the link to the mod or mods?
Would I be able to get this mod on my ps5 or only accessible through PC?
PC only :(
why do you have more bookmarks than me? are there multiple versions of the mod?
Mod updates 23rd
Am I meant to lose the dragon rider trait when I pick an eggs??
Yes, because the Dragonrider perk is tied to your bond with your dragon!
Is even possible as Mealys hatch dragon by sacrificing son ?
I believe so!
When is this coming out
I think August 23
23rd of August is correct
hey, i started the game as a minor lord in 282 and later i took the throne as Viserys Targaryen but despite visiting all the required places on the map i still can't do the ritual :( is there anything else i can do?
Do you have an egg?
@@Midgeman no and illyrio is dead already and no one has inherited his eggs, so I guess there's nothing that can be done
So the only 2 extra mods you need are the egg colours and temperament? Can you do this on the base AGOT mod and not use the mods? I thought you couldn’t😅🥹
This is all gonna be in the base mod CK3 AGOT update.
Yes, this is all base AGOT - it's just not out yet
Any clue when it will be out? @@Midgeman
23rd August, I think around Noon Eastern release
@@Midgeman many thanks & for the informative video as well 👍
I just got a Dragon out of the 258 Start Event chain by just sacrificing myself as Aegon V. All Eggs are destroyed except for one. Is that normal :D?
It's random between 1 and all of the eggs hatching
Lost a dragon which was in a dragonpit after its dragon rider died - did they change something?
Did they die while riding the dragon out somewhere? If so they're not in the pit at that point
Are Scorpion Men-at-arms still a thing? I notice you forgot to mention them.
Yes they are! But I believe they're over in Pentos, I actually only learnt of them yesterday - too hyperfocused on the other content
@@Midgeman I read they’re unlocked with the Anti-dragon Warfare innovation. I think anyone can recruit the men at arms after?
@Rors113 yeah it's an innovation for the emplacements. Might also work for the men at arms too
Everything about this update is already known… wish they’d just release it for us commonfolk.
The smallfolk are ravenous
I do not have 82 AC and 106 AC in my game. is this also being added with the Dragons or do i need to download something else for those years?
That's part of the dragon update!
The dragon Horn command doesn't seem to work?
Artifact spawning can be wonky with console commands
Well...
Time to burn the Dreadfort down.
Iron From Ice.
What will you call the Forrester Dragon
@@Midgeman Ironbark. After the Iron Wood Trees.
