Oda even found a use for Bellamy, so I feel like Kid still has a role for him somewhere. Death is up in the air, and I don't think any injury short of death would discourage that sort of stubborn guy, so the only real question is where he'll go from here.
Maybe he'll be thrown in as an incidental part of a bigger plot, or maybe it's his turn to go on a post-Sabody training arc where we only see him come back in the epilogue after a long recovery off-screen.

At the end of the day, they are still bodies and quite powerful pirates. These final conflicts are going to require them.
Kid has very clearly been set up as important, even very recently in Wano. He’ll definitely play a role in the future, probably a significant one. I think he’ll be in Elbaph and there’s a good chance we’ll see a flashback for him there

Kidd is a conqueror, don't sleep on that. If he's alive he's rolling. But we saw his body after the attack, he isn't bisected or anything. If he is alive, he'll make a full recovery with a big scar. This is One Piece after all, Oda can't even kill off Pound.

I don’t think killer or kid are dead or even out of the pirate life, i just think this is kid’s and law’s for that matter crocodile/moria moment, they both fought and lost to yonkos so either they become complacent and don’t hunger for being pirate king as much or they switch their approach and try to become pirate king in another way, but i don’t think either will die (yet) and they will be there at the final war. This is one of the few times i don’t agree with Tekking at all.
Perhaps they join Cross Guild.
Or join Luffy in a sort of mirror to Cross Guild.

Many people fail to realize that the groundwork for kidd getting ACOC is already in effect. Kidd got hit with a point black ACOC attack the same with oden and luffy did when they first experienced an ACOC infused attack. If kidds alive, there’s no way he doesn’t get a buff and pick up ACOC from shanks like luffy did with kaido.
Exactly. Oden developed conq coating after getting hit with a divine departure from roger. If kid is alive after seeing the events of the rooftop and getting hit point blank by a conq attack that potent he’ll def realize he needs that kind of power to contend with yonko.

I feel Kid and Killer are just stranded somewhere in Elbaf. Maybe a giant walrus ate them; aside from that, Oda said something along the lines of "you don't have to remember all their names" when revealing the Kid pirates, about half of them stayed as sketches

I doubt Oda would throw a Conqueror and Supernova down the toilet like that without any sort of resolution and I have full confidence both Kid and Law are going to fight Gorosei/God's Knights in the Final War.

The point is to prove that not everyone can win the race. There will be only one winner at the end and that is set to be luffy (BB is my fav character btw)
So law and kidd are already out of race. Law's will of D plot armour saves him plus his dream of finding the meaning of his name.
Kidd never had something like that did he? He wanted to defeat kaido but immediately let luffy fight kaido and teamed up with law to fight BM. He wants to be king of the pirates? I'm not even sure of that because he never said that did he? Even BB said he would become king of the pirates.

I don't understand the communities weird hatred of Kid. Cool design, cool fruit, treats his crew well. Sure, he kills people who mock him and is a bit of a dick but by that logic he's still better than most pirates

He talks so much shit but constantly bites off more than he can chew. Kid gets defeated and enslaved by Kaido. He does the worst out of everyone on the rooftop (he even gets outshined by his Vice Captain). After all that, he talks to Luffy like they are both equal. Kidd isn’t weak, but he isn’t as strong as he thinks he is. He just thinks he is hot shit but can’t back it up.

They both lost, but i think theres maybe just a touch of a bias here.
Law got jumped by a Yonko and half his officers, Kidd picked a fight with a yonko and got one shot. That being said, I think Kidd deserves more respect than he gets. He and Law DID both stand up to Big Mom til the end, and Shanks, after seeing the future, determined it was necessary for himself to PERSONALLY deal with Kidd. He's not mid for sure

Kidd fought sought out battle that he obviously couldn't win on account of his pride and bloodlust. Doing so resulted in his crew dying, his ship destroyed, and him drowning. Law got jumped. So yes, his is worse than Law's.
Of course there's a bias here. People love Law and dislike Kid. Moreover, Kid got wrecked by Shanks, one of the most beloved and wanked characters in the series.

Oda has a problem with killing people off. I mean, in the Wano arc how many people died? Like 5 to 7 characters right? So, no, I don't think Kidd is dead. He'll make somekind of comeback. Maybe not against Shanks, but somebody and somewhere.
There were thousands and thousands dead. Just because they were fodder don't mean no one died. it's like saying no one really died in the fourth ninja war in Naruto.

Okay, who died in Wano? Ashura Doji: Confirmed. Izo: Confirmed. Yasuie: Confirmed. Orochi: I think he's Out of Continues. Kanjuro: Looks like his final curtain indeed fell. Hawkins: Only 1 percent chance of survival, according to him. The CP0 agent who fought Izo: Probably died fighting Izo. Guernica/Bowler hat: Struck down by Kaido as punishment for interfering in the fight with Luffy - seemed to accept his fate, and the remaining CP0 agent appeared to mourn him before fleeing. In flashback: Kozuki Oden, Toki, and Kurozumi Higurashi. A number of unnamed Beast pirates and fighters and background people died in the Wano arc as well.
@@ChrisLang101 Well, the Bowler Hat guy is likely still alive as it was confirmed that he was the one that took the photo of Gear 5 Luffy. Granted, not confirmed he's alive, but that photo came after getting stucked by a pissed off Kadio, so I'm betting he's alive. And he also survived a gunshot to the head. So, I'm extremely doubtful that those two are dead. Also, I'm not counting flashbacks as anyone can die in those. I was only referring current timeline.

Well he lost his arm to the Red Hair pirates. Helping to defeat Big Mom and getting a Yonko level bounty emboldened him to retaliate. He severely underestimated just how efficient Shanks is at handling pests.

I visited Japan for the first time in March, and I ended up visiting two Mugiwara stores, one in Shibuya and one in Ikebukuro. One of the cashiers at the Ikebukuro location was wearing a lanyard with not one, not two, but SIX Eustass Kidd pins on it. This video popped up and I immediately thought of her. Hope she’s doing well and her Kidd stocks will pay off.
I wanna see the Straw Hats pull up to the beach on Elbaf and seeing Kaido, Big Mom, Kid, and Law washed ashore with their memories lost. It would be so funny, at least as a comic

“A fools caution tale” besides killing civilians kid is pretty much the exact same as luffy. Even down to planning on challenging all the yonko. Only difference is kid isn’t the main character. If he’s a fool so is luffy. Fools win big in this series or die trying. Cant hate a character who died chasing his dreams.

You seem to have forgotten some very important context, _Shanks with his future sight saw Kid obliterate all his weak allies that had gathered there!_ The previous encounter and whatnot matters too of course but this is far beyond "he challenged us twice", it's "he will attack people that are practically speaking civilians in this fight even though his beef is with us". There is absolutely no way Shanks would not go for the kill

They are not civilians, they are PIRATES, and just like Luffy said there is no fair play in a pirate fight, if they didn't want to die to Kid they should let him pass and fight Shanks.
I think there's a difference between "Shanks would not hold back" and "Shanks would go for the kill"
Doesn't mean Kidd survived, but it'd be crazy if he and his entire crew were *just dead*. We weren't given any closure, either. I'd guess the most likely outcome is he dropped his beef and has been humbled - though, that doesn't really feel right.

They weren't civilians. They were just weak pirates. And although Shanks told them to not get involved, they charged in anyways.
And shanks didn't pressed any further UNTIL he saw Kidd could easily get rid of them
Shanks underestimated Kidd, and that's why Shanks needed to go all out.

Kidd never gives up, they made a point of saying he was still alive thanks to Killer before they blew up his ship, Kidd can easily rebuil his ship with his devilfruit, Kidd is on Elbaf which is all but confirmed to be the next island. Kidd is alive 100%
I feel like at the final fight, maybe this is last arc I heard people say that this is already the final saga so I hope to see him along with Blackbeard and luffy law to see the epic showdown plus the revealing of the one piece. Unveiling that now would be awesome.

I wish you'd brought up the fact that Shanks wanted to square off with him fair and square, it wasn't until he sensed his killing intent and destructive power with his foresight observation that he chose to land a no holds barred decisive blow

it was only the destructive power of the rail gun that shanks saw with his haki that made him take it seriously
And because he didn't bothered to stop his allies from engaging Kidd, he now needed to act fast and go all out.
I like how this video is happening on the (sorta) eve of the episode where we see the Kid Pirates arrive near Elbaf/Shanks disrupting Kid's pirate career

The only episode of courage that I remember, and I remember it SO vividly for some reason, is the episode where he ends up with the ancient Egyptian tablet and just refuses to give it back.
I genuinely really like Kid, I genuinely hope he isn't dead, the hate he gets is so dumb and unreasonable, he absolutely deserves a redemption arc in Elbaf 😭😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏

Well, I think at the very least Kid and his crew are out of the running for the One Piece. And many of his crew didn't survive the destruction of the Victoria Punk. If Kid and Killer and a few of the others survived, it'd take a LONG time to even come close to recovering enough to being able to be a serious contender. And by them, Luffy and the Straw Hats would have found the One Piece, discovered the whole story behind the Void Century, done something about the world sinking problem, defeated the Elders/Gorosei AND the Blackbeard pirates, caused the Marines to come under new management, and accomplished most of the other more immediate goals.
Kid's main weakness was his arrogance. He most likely went into the confrontation with Shanks thinking that since he fought with Big Mom and won, he could win against Shanks, forgetting that the only time he won against a Yonko/Emperor was with the help of Trafalgar Law and that the other times he went up against a Yonko crew, he suffered humiliating losses. If his first loss to Shanks was strike one, and his loss to Kaido was strike two, then THIS might be strike three and he's out - out of the running to be anything more than just a wannabe. And after this, he might not even be a wannabe anymore.
The scenario of Kid being disabled that you outlined is pretty grim, but Kid was the sort of arrogant, vicious, unpleasant character whose story doesn't really lend itself to a happy ending. Guys like Kid don't just sail off happily into the sunset having achieved their dreams. And he doesn't strike me as someone who would wake up and see the error of his ways, either. So no, I don't see any happier fates in store for him.
If Kidd does come back, which I want him to,
I want him to comeback as a badass half cyborg made of junk metal. He could attach so much stuff to his body and have different attachments on him.
I wanna throw in my own idea here as well because Kidd is a very interesting character with how many directions his story can go from here so this is my pitch.
To begin with Killer dies alongside at least a large 70% to 80% of the Kidd pirates. After the Divinity Departed the Victoria Punk is gone and already half of the crew is gone and wash up on Elbaf as corpses. But a portion of them survive the seas and wash up on Elbaf unable to move left at the mercy of nature. Where slowly but surely every one of the crewmates we need dead dies one by one. Some by dehydration or starvation, some by animals, some by their wounds. But most importantly I want Kidd to wake up and have to watch his crew die and witness the consequences of his actions. Ending with him having to watch as Killer dies of the wounds he inccured as a result of his choice. Completely unable to do anything due to being to injured to move. And then just as he starts knocking on deaths door. I want a random giant to save him and heal his wounds. After all Elbaf is Kidd's Shabody Archapelago so whats the point if you don't give him to chance at least to get back up after losing everything.

If Kid does come back, I think he only has 2 things he could possibly do in the story. 1 help Blackbeard kill Shanks (I dont really like this theory too much but a lot of people do) or end up doing whatever Law does, which is going to be a much smaller role compared to before
I think law still has a major role. He will be play a role in helping the SH. He to liked to be gone

Its definitely going to be a come to jesus moment for the kid pirates, but now they are without a ship. This is a likely way of getting marooned on Elbaf for killer, wire, heat and Kid.
In my opinion, Kid will need medical attention from Law to survive. At some point he will likely team up with Law and join his crew or be stranded on Elbaf. They were very cohesive in wano and it is a solid buff for both characters to stay revelant
I have no ideia what Oda is going to do with Kid in the future but that is waht makes it so exciting
At no point did we see Rockstar go to Kid and give him Shank's duel message. Kid would've probably been fine with a duel on the island, but he never got the message. Kid was rolling up to the island, Shanks fleet showed up and started shooting at him and then Kid tried to defend himself. He didn't plan on just blasting for funzies.
Honestly it's kinda shanks's fault, as he thought his weak ass fleet would be able to deal with Kidd themselves....
Until he saw Kidd obliterate them all via future sight.
So because he put his allies in danger, Shanks needed to go all out and save everyone.
On the topic of Kid being used as a new body for the Stella, that makes me wonder. Are the Satellites considered separate from Vegapunk's main body, in terms of his Devil Fruit? That is to say, would they be capable of consuming their own fruits, if given the opportunity? Now, obviously, if Kid is dead then he would no longer have the powers of his Magnet-Magnet fruit, but by the way you described it, it was more of a case where he barely clung to life, and could be cybernetically modified by Vegapunk to serve as a new body, therefore preserving his fruit, which got me thinking.

I'd think Kid will be involved in the final war of this series somehow. I think Oda will use the final war as a "Last Hurrah" for all his characters so he will pull out any decently strong character for that arc. Don't forget Oda's deep love of Kid. Oda thought Kid would be the most popular among the supernovas.
And yet Law was more popular. So he shelved kid to barely a background character for years until he could shoehorn him into a massive arc where he wouldn’t be too intrusive. And now he’s gone again.

There have been two movie villains with powers that are basically Kidd's (Tesoro and Bullet)
It is difficult for me to take the idea that Kidd is dead seriously for one reason. A lot of people bring up the idea that he was one tapped. And the thing is we literally got Luffy getting one tapped by Kaido. I don't see Shanks stopping Kidd from being a pirate. Kidd is far too stubborn to just stop. I mean if we're talking parallels between him and Luffy our strawhat captain has been continuously shortening his lifespan like throughout the whole story. I can totally see Kidd doing the same. Heck maybe THAT is gonna be Kidd's end point. Where he will push himself too hard and go out fighting while Luffy will ultimately survive. Or their deaths may act out in different ways. Kidd will die only having Killer while Luffy will get to go with his whole crew around him.
As for what role he might play in the future? Here is a crazy thought, Kidd vs Enel/Eneru. We know Earlobes has to shown up again in the story somehow. And I don't see him being an ally of Luffy. He won. He got what he wanted in the end. Luffy didn't really stop his dream unlike someone like Crocodile. So I don't see him being deterred from confronting Luffy again. But having Kidd and Law team up with Luffy again would allow Kidd to get a big fight with a WILDLY strong opponent (obviously he will have upped his haki game) but ultimately someone who isn't really relevant to the actual narrative. As for Law I can see him just being used similarly to the Doflamingo fight where he'll just aid someone else. Who knows maybe he will nerf the Gorosei's immortality stuff somehow and just be spent after.

I'm certain my boy Kidd is going to Water Seven and help to build boats over there. It's a nice future for him.
I like to think that Ben Beckman didn't cut off his arm, or even blow it off, but just shot it so good that Kidd had to get it amputated. I'm imagining him pulling up just after he learned observation haki, but only being able to react by reaching out his arm to try and stop the bullet, which only makes it travel through his hand and out the shoulder
I always thought that Beckman just straight up tore Kid’s arm off with his bare hands.
I have a theory that could make Kid relevent in the story again. Although, I could be wrong about this. "Kid is the 7th of Vegapunk clone/Satellite." Hear me out on this. I know we got an origin from him a little while back. But it could always be reckoned.
Here are the reasons I think that it could work:
• All/most of Kid's moves have the word 'Punk' in them.
• Kid is always seen as being angry/emotional. So I think that that could be an emotional state that Vegapunk has removed from himself I like the other satellites. Plus, all the Satellites have a number and kanji symbol that says what personality trait they are. I believe that Kid's may have been on his left bicep before it was severed. Also, when he used his 'Damned Punk' in a second fight with Shanks. I saw a symbol that said "Punk 07" on the barrel just like the other Satellites.
• At the start of Egghead Island, when Lilith showed up. She brought Beasts with her that kind of resemble all 6 Vegapunks including the original. But the 7th one looks a lot like Kid (black horns and red mayne). It's a possibility that he was lumped in with them because they're part the same group/situation.
• We all know that Kid is based off the Scottish pirate, William Kidd. But with his devil fruit, and choice of fashion. I believe that kid may have been inspired by both Scottish Rebels during the Celtic era, and Victorian Steampunk. A type of subgenre that is related to 19th century technology. Which not only relates to Vegapunk's name what's corresponds with Kid's personality and background. Including his fight with Big Mom who I believe was sort of inspired by Queen Victoria I (British Queen), and possibly the Red Queen from Alice in Wonderland.
• His crewmate Killer where is a mask similar to Shaka's head/mask. Which to me, both look similar to the masks worn by the French music duo, 'Daftpunk'.
• In Film: Z, that was a non-canon image of Kid making a toy/small robot. It's may have been a clue about Vegapunk.

Kidd has one of the most important devil fruits in the story Electromagnetism. Like Magneto from X-Men that’s a very strong ability . Especially in a world that’s sinking he can literally levitate objects in the Air imagine his doing that to An Island 🏝️ . That ability will play a big role in the series similar to Laws ability as well. Just a thought
Watch Kid and Law com3 back with an alliance. It just makes sense. They both suffered a big loss at the same time and obviously they aren't just gone like that. Law has a crew full of doctors while Kid's crew is full of combatants. If they become allies they balance each other out and solve the problem of not having strong enough people.
That would make sense.
Also Kidd is way too happy to act while Law takes way too much to plan things out, making him predictable.
That kind of alliance would be pretty good.
Also also, both Kidd and Law would do much better if they switched their opponents.

I was waiting for the Crocodile/White Beard or Moria/Kaido comparisons. They were line steppers and were severely wounded like Kidd, but unlike Kidd they didn’t habitually line step.
Literally Shanks introduction arc is that he is ready to kill you if you threaten his friends. So it wouldnt be unlikely Kid is dead.
