  • Samoa is a remote island in a vast ocean. The diving is incredible, with warm clear waters. It's my first time in this beautiful place but all expectations were blown out of the water. Both above and below the waves fond memories were made, I can sincerely say that I had a great time in Samoa!
It's my first-time spearfishing in the tropics (or anywhere besides NZ). It was nice to escape the winter back home and get into the balmy 29c waters of Samoa.
After years of watching people shoot fish in walm clear tropical water, I couldn't wait to get almost it. One fish was of particular interest, the infamous Mu! To see these fish after hearing so much about them I felt like I was living a dream. But I do more than just look ;)
Come for a splash, let me share my adventures with you. Many colorful fish inhabit these coral reefs. Let me show you how it looks through my eyes!
Thanks for watching. This channel is for channeling. Channeling the beauty of the natural world and my creative energy to create content that connects you with our planet. SUB2SEA more Videos!

@@bootiejuice3481 more than welcome hommie. I learnt so much from TH-cam in the early days of my spearfishing journey. It’s a pleasure to be able to give back now that I have a bit of insight and a couple story’s to share

Great video mate! I've found getting to the bottom and looking down straight away to be the best with the spooky fish... but haven't tried in the tropics so take that with a pinch of salt :)

I agree with you one that mate! Can be hard sometimes when a good fish swims by not to oogle it lol. The fish come to you if your chill

Good work man, such an awesome video! You didn't get any ciguetera sickness from the reef fish there?

Thanks Clayton, no signs of Cig for me! Was sharing the fish with my fam and the village so only really ate a portion of what I caught. The dose makes the poision but I hadn't heard much talk of ciguatera there. There are red bass that are apparently really bad for it tho so I left em alone

Thank you Riley. Many differences to diving back in NZ but fish will be fish and water is water. Definitely a lot of learn however. Saw some amazing fish that I couldn’t close the distance on. Get ‘em next time

How do you feel about the conventional gun after using rollers? Why did you decide to switch? I can’t believe you decided to travel with your float boat! 😮 - Let me know if you ever get to the Philippines! I’ll be here for a while. There’s no fish here tho. But deep and great freedive and hunting training.

Float boat is essential, had to bring it, would have been very sharky without. So good, would consider it to be one of the most important bits of gear. Gotta stay hydrated also! The trusty roller is still my baby but I got a conventional gun mainly as something for others to use. More simple and double bands gives some room for gear breakage. Brought both with me but did most diving with the conventional. Rollers are still king in my opinion

You are hardly selling the Philippines lol, should have said big fish haha

@@BlueNeoprene 😂-- not gonna lie! But there's no sharks here and you can jump in the water whenever. It's also very deep. Freediver's paradise. It's good for hunting training at depth. Lot of freediving record holders train here!
I just got an aimrite roller and not liking it as much as the Pathos sniperr. So spoiled. But I also never tried a very good conventional. Is that the Pathos with 17.5mm double bands? It sounds like super difficult to load!
Im not sure where to go that's cheap to live with good depth and lots of fish!
