I love Samoa! this content is amazing to see. I lived in Samoa 20 years ago. It looks like it has not changed much...lol. In Hawaii the Mu fish is the large eye emperor not that Large Red Snapper. the Trevally is called Ulua when over 10lbs. and the Papio when below 10 lbs. the blue fin is referred to as Omilu. and that other fish is a Nenue or a low fin Chub or rudder fish. This is some awesome content! Thanks so much for sharing!

Ahh the beautiful and simple lifestyle that is "Sina PJ Fales" in the village of Tafitoala on the south coast of Samoa.
Named after the owners, Malae and Tina's kids, the lovely Sina and the cheeky PJ.
In 2009 I spent a month in the very same fale as you're staying in now.
It was amazing swimming and fishing every day going out to the drop off via the channel that comes right up to the beach and of course the surfing break just next to where you're fishing.
The beach and lagoon in front of the fales looks very different nowadays from when I was first there . The lagoon was deep and full of coral, in fact it used to be a marine reserve by order of the village.
But unfortunately the tsunami in 2009 ripped all the coral off the front edge of the reef and deposited it in the lagoon and filled it up.
Ask Tina to tell you about the tsunami, it came through where you're staying at chest height. They saw it coming and got in their car to drive away only to be washed up against a tree which saved their lives.
Malae is such a lovely man and Tina is the village match maker, at least she was for me, she introduced and persistently encouraged me to talk to a lovely lady in the village which resulted in our marriage.
So you see Sina PJ Fales holds an extra special place in my heart.
Tell Malae, Tina and the kids that Brent and Leotina send their love and will see them next year.

Red Bass are a no-take in QLD due to cigatuera. I’ve eaten them in the Solomons after catching them on line and spear. Tough as old boots on the grill, but very good for a coconut curry, as they have a very firm flesh. Really weird that the table quality differs so much to their very close cousin, the Mangrove Jack.

21:17 lol i recognise that piece of land anywhere. shucks good times in lefaga (Savaia where you were), the chinese govt invested in the clam sanctuary over in Samoa (where you were swimming). their govt paid for some of the local samoan villagers to China to talk about how they grow/raise clams etc, it was funny, of course we didn't believe uncle (at the time) and his stories until we saw the pics of him in China - he speaks no mandarin whatsoever lol what a good laugh. the resorts are always like that - kinda empty, we just go with it, i was wondering if you were cooking cos swimming in the morning 5am-ish the water is pretty warm (just out of curiosity does it get colder as you get lower? in samoa i mean). enjoyed the vid.

Check out a guy in the USA called “THE MEDICAL MEDIUM”. Changed her life as well as mine after 28 years of soccer/football and all of the arthritis. Zero pain thanks to celery juice and more….I am not a health nut at all. We both work out. Her more than me, but i still enjoy my Brisket, Ribs, Steaks, Chicken, etc. she eats fish and veggies.
