And here I thought David Bowie was actually doing his voice in these videos - not only because it's so spot on, but because he was exactly the kind of guy who would love to take the piss out of himself in this very clever and funny way.
I knew it wouldn't be because it just wasn't practical to get the whole band to perform in his shoes. A bit like an episode of Blake 7 where they plan on invading an alien home world all episode but you know it's not going to happen because the BBC couldn't afford the sets.
@@wellesradio Have a listen to this: th-cam.com/video/fm9AHRFiWPQ/w-d-xo.html Chris Salt won a competition, got to be in the studio for a show while Adam and Joe came up with various salt-based pun-name-alternatives.
LOL! OMG, the BOWIE voice is amazing! Ludicrous, ridiculous and very amusing cartoon. DAVID BOWIE is probably chuckling oop there in heaven R.I.P DAVID BOWIE ROCK LEGEND AND ICON!
great to see this true to life depiction of how Bowie actually went on to decide his next representation in music. Just imagine if Angie had gone with Cobbler Bob. I'm not sure, but i don't think he would have been quite as successful... but we'll never know!
Adam, I'm completely depressed that my Bowie impersonation has gradually morphed into Alan Partridge. If your Bowie ever starts sounding nasal, beware that slippery slope!
We all love the fact that C-Salt is still involvicised(sp?) with this kind of superlatative work (x) (From someone who has the trimmed 6Music shows on permanent MP3 player rotation, so I'm not mad at all - no .....)
A Mad Deus sounds like something Bowie might've actually thought about.
I was totally sold on that character
An album with classic/rock songs by Bowie. With big orchestrations!
Aladin Sane. A Lad Insane.
Adam Buxton is great.
Yes!
@@PrivateAckbar But Bowie actually did that one, with that pun.
Cobbler Bob and the Slippers from Marks.
Genius!
you win the internet with this
Nice......
Your Bowie impression is the best I've ever heard
Paul Jennette Right?!! It's eerily similar!! Spot on!
You should have done a voice over for that tragedy in "Stardust".
Ricky gervais, does a fantastic impression of Bowie
ITS AMZING HOW-
@@lisabunnie22960 not even a voice over could save that film.

The Cobbler Bob era was always my favourite. So grounded and soleful. Great walking music. I really get a kick out of it.
But it kind of went to heel with that last album. David and Angie fought toe-to-toe over that one.
The Man Who Soled The World
Clever!
Ground Control to Cobbler Bob..... Sorry, couldn't resist..
the return of the Cobbler Bob, Cobblin Bobs in lovers' eyes.....
I hope David saw this before he passed! Would've given him a laugh! :) RIP
"There's a hole in my soul/sole." Brilliant!
I almost cried when he sighed and said "alright then" you sound so much like him I miss him so much
RIP Cobbler Bob x
My exact thoughts. :(
The liquid coming out of Aladdin Sane's shoulder is a teardrop that was painted on after the photo was taken. Bowie liked the addition and left it.
The sheer theatricality is superlative.
And here I thought David Bowie was actually doing his voice in these videos - not only because it's so spot on, but because he was exactly the kind of guy who would love to take the piss out of himself in this very clever and funny way.
I had my fingers crossed for Cobbler Bob
I knew it wouldn't be because it just wasn't practical to get the whole band to perform in his shoes. A bit like an episode of Blake 7 where they plan on invading an alien home world all episode but you know it's not going to happen because the BBC couldn't afford the sets.
+Clay Mann PMSL!
I'm now convinced that Bowie always went 'wuz wuz wuz wuz wuz wuz' when painting or doing his 'cut-up' method of composing lyrics.
Makes me want to hear David Bowie's Adam Buxton impression.
Whenever I am having a bad day I always watch this to cheer me up. The edge falling off stage also works.
😂😂
Bono falling off the Edge(of a cliff) would do it for me 😂
I would be the happiest man alive if Adam Buxton and Chris Salt made a TV series.
I would have bought a Cobbler Bob album.
I was hoping Adam Sandler's film The Cobbler was inspired by this!
Maybe there’s a bootleg out there just waiting...✨✨✨
You won't be the first or the
LAST person to feel that.
I love all your Bowie shorts I wish there were more!
Viscount Jizmark... lives on his back!
😂
Now I need a weekly episode where David is always trying to get Cobbler Bob into his life. That was excellent, loved it.

"… could you make it Pepsi?"
How do you sound so much like him, it's amazing.
I say we start forming our own tribute bands named after one of these scrapped personas. I'm torn between A-Mad-Deus and Viscount Jizmark...
Priceless. You'll never hear a better Bowie rip.
Still the best video on TH-cam.
I love the Amadeus album, it was so theatrical, you could hear the character through Bowie’s voice throughout
maybe there's an unreleased album under the cobbler bob persona.... please, tony visconti and iman, find it!!!!

This is extremely brilliant🙏🏻😂I would love to see more videos!☺️
My son now has a toy called Cobbler Bob. He is a digger driver thanks Mr Adam and Mr Bowie for the name

Viscount Jizmark 😂 Ten years later it’s still funny!
Youre impression is really great!
Love cobbler bob. And your bowie impersonation is blooming marvelous. David bowie will always be in my heart. Xxx👽
Oh ad this is amazing some of my 3 favourite things Lego, Bowie and you!
Thank you for all your work it makes me so happy to watch it!
Still beautiful.
Fifth time I watched this, and just noticed the circle on Bowie's forehead is the centre of the Good Life daisy.
Absolutely brilliant!!
Genius! How has this not got a bajillion views?
I love this! Cobbler Bob. The lost Bowie persona that never was.

This video filled a hole in my sole.
Really great to know that you're still in touch with 'Assault with a Deadly Chrisp'!
Rest in Peace David Bowie :(
I would buy a DVD of this (just saying :-) More please xox
yes, adam should make feature length movies in the style of those little shortened parodies of movies, from the adam and joe show
Got to love this.
claro
Brilliant.....real laugh out loud stuff. Bowie would be proud of you 🙂
Dear Mr. Buxton. Thank you. That is all.
I feel like he's come back to life

This.is.hilarious! ☺😀😁😂😂😂
Please make some more! 😊
OH WOW, This beats "Stardust" any day of the week.
"The hole in my soul"... You were so funny, Bob.
Delightful! Also nice to see the return of Sea Salt...
A Mad Deus would work as a stage production
Must say, this Glastonbury on BBC is missing some Cobbler Bob action...
great to see this true to life depiction of how Bowie actually went on to decide his next representation in music. Just imagine if Angie had gone with Cobbler Bob. I'm not sure, but i don't think he would have been quite as successful... but we'll never know!

A Salt on Precinct 13! Nice work! You too Adam!
Adam, I'm completely depressed that my Bowie impersonation has gradually morphed into Alan Partridge. If your Bowie ever starts sounding nasal, beware that slippery slope!

Brilliant a quiet like the idea of Cobbler Bob!!
He mends shoes and sings the blues probably about Spiders in the bath.
I'm sure David would absolutely love this 💫
This has big “The Nightman Cometh” energy. I love it.
Off to create a Cobbler Bob 'Hole in the Sole Tour' T-shirt...
Angie: What’s the fluid? Could you make it Pepsi? David: NO! What are you, cray cray?!
THE SALT MAN COMETH.
In summer...do people call him summer salt?
Love it! Viscount Jizzmark lol

_Cobbler Bob to crowd control_
I like it. I think it works.

Brilliant to see you collaborating with The Salt Man/Sea Salt/Somersalt/Assalt on Precinct 13
:D
Just read an article with this in the title...
"David Bowie's goblin leggings."
Reminded me of this video. No idea why.
Now if he'd chosen Builder Bob he might have got somewhere. Ahh so many if onlys, Bob.
Love this! Cobbler Bob ha! ha! ha! Thanks goodness for Angie!
Viscount Jizzmark had some mileage, I reckon.
I saw Viscount Jizzmark play the Hammersmith Apollo.. he really made a splash
