  • In this video we install the lightburn software, add our laser with the settings from the user manual, and do our first test burn! This is the second video in the Atomstack series.

Hi Ryan, thanks again for your awesome job, question:
How do I engrave on a tall object like glass? The space between the table to the laser is not enough...

You can either build a frame or cut some 4x4's and set the laser on top of those. Just make sure they are flat and the laser is level before you start the burn.

Hi, I was trying to use my atomstack a5 laser engraver. When I press start it say that the image is out of bounds, what should I do in this case?

When you use over-scanning, that will happen. As long as it is framing normally, where you want it, you can ignore that message.

My calipers read 2.72mm. I have a few spares in you need. PM me on Farcebook.

Hi Ryan. I really liked your video. I just bought this today and hope I bought the correct unit. Do you know if I can cut out stars with this unit? An example is I want to do flags and do not want to do 50 stars by hand.

Depending on the thickness and type of material, absolutely!

@@LaserNoob Thanks for getting back to me so quick. This will be a side business. I just retired and don't want to be under my wife's feet all day. The wood will be a 3/4 to 1" piece of plywood. Don't want to cut through it, just down far enough to give a depth look. I am looking at other of your videos. Looks like I will learn alot from you.

Just engraving will certainly be achievable. The 5 watt takes a bit longer than the more powerful lasers, but will easily get the job done. Best of luck with the side hustle! Staying out from under the wife's feet is much easier to do when you have a laser to play with. LOL

Do I need to have a TF card if I plan to just use Lightburn?

You sure don't. I have never used one.

Hey I have problem with this one brand new and the motors are working but the laser is not starting. Do You have some ideas why?

I'm not a laser tech, but I'd make sure the plug to the laser module is plugged in all the way. If that is not the issue, I'd call customer support. Wish I could be of more help.
