Don't compromise on salary packages for ESOPs. Treat ESOPs like a bonus. Keep buying/acquiring ESOPs in moderation from the company at regular intervals. Don't risk more than what you can afford to lose. A bird in hand is worth 2 in the bush

My 2 paise worth; instead of obsessing about higher salaries and bigger numbers, learn to live within your means. Life is much easier when you don't have to worry about earning more money to cover more expenses or an expansive lifestyle. Work in what makes you happy, live frugally, surround yourself with loved ones and life will be good. Don't fall in the consumerist traps or capitalistic thought processes. It's much easier than one thinks to cut unnecessary expenses than to increase earnings.

I think a deep dive / case to case analysis / Role vs Location vs Experience vs Educational background level discussion before we generalise such stories is a must and concrete numbers instead of 30 or 100 X makes more sense for viewers watching this sort of content, Real numbers + Real timelines and how people managed those returns will make a good video Idea, Good content otherwise #WintWealth !! Its the best way to create wealth..as an employee you know what is going on in the company. Have seen many people achieve FI just because of esops. Many start their own venture which results in huge wealth creation. Basically once your all household expenses are taken care by FI corpus, you take more risks by using a monetisable idea and raising funds, without risking your own corpus.

This is like listening to a story of holding Infosys stock since 1993. - Happy cases.
You should also include the cons of holdiing ESOPs and RSUs.
    - They are just like the stocks, nothing else. If ESOP/RSU are 40-50% of your portfolio then it's risky. Just ask one question, if you have 1Cr, will you buy 50L worth of stocks of the same company?
    - Another point, by the time, you know if something has happened to the company, the damage (business and financial) would have already happened, so don't think that, just because you are working for the company, you know everything inside out.
    - There is a difference between "Buy and forget" and "Buy and keep until stoploss". The first one ignored how the prices move and second one keep you awake of the price. It is the sheer luck if the first one worked for you. Don't think that it will work everytime. There might be some cases where you actually have to forget the whole thing.
Just an observation, many people don't buy even NIFTY (which is future of India - least risky equity) but same people bet on startups (which is the riskiest level). I am talking about employees - not founders here.

Growing that corpus to 5 cr should be possible unless people are financially Indi disciplined or they have too many liabilities, other family members to feed. 10 cr is difficult but 5 cr at the age of 50 should be achievable.
