This 11” iPad Pro refresh is the point I will be upgrading. I’ll go with the base model, and can’t wait. Almost certainly on my way to an iPad Air, probably the new 13". The limited storage options were always what kept me from buying an Air, more than any other limitation. Now that I can get 512gb, I'll probably bite the bullet.
In the new Magic Keyboard’s fabrication notes it states that it is in fact compatible with prior generations of iPad Pro and a iPad airs, despite excluding them in the compatibility chart. I’m hoping apple didn’t go through the engineering just to make this new accessories unusable with existing iPad models. Hopefully that’s the case, if anybody wants to upgrade just their accessories or just the iPad, they should be able to do so without spending more money.
@@AidGum well, not really. The way you can see this is by going to the Apple Store app and checking the section called “manufacturing note” or something like that. It is below the “Compatibility” section. Which is what confuses me as to why they contradict each other.
I would like to get iPad 10. I wanted one last year but I didnt want to pay 450. I got a iPad 9. There are several features of the 10 that I want like landscape stereo speakers (i have always hated the positioning of the speakers on the base iPad going back to the original iPad), landscape camera, touch id in the power button, and since everything else I own has gone USB-C, USB-C. I am definitely going to look at upgrading...
Few months ago I bought the M2 iPad Pro 12.9. I’ve recently made the switch from fcpx to DaVinci resolve (I got excited for Final Cut on the iPad, and I was terribly disappointed) in order to get the best out of DaVinci resolve I need 16gb…. I was going to upgrade my iPad but since apple announced the event i decided to wait to take advantage of the new chip. DUDE! a 13”iPad pro with 1tb (the cheapest way to get the 16gb of ram) a new keyboard cause my keyboard won’t work and a new Apple Pencil cause my current one might not work, comes out to $1,947.00 after the $580 they will give me if I trade in my current iPad…. For $50 more I can get a MacBook Pro 14” with an m3 pro, 18gb ram, and get to keep my iPad , and that’s without calculating the trade in of my current MacBook
I was considering upgrading my 2018 12.9 inch finally for this iPad, but as soon as I heard I need a new Magic Keyboard and everything that kind of killed the idea for me. I was really hoping they’d make the iPad backwards compatible for the older keyboards. An extra $350 is a really hard pill to swallow…
I sold my M1 iPad Pro on March waiting to upgrade to the next iPad Pro’s on April. However, these months without an iPad, didn’t make me miss it at all. My iphone and MacBook in my use case are really capable on what I do. It still a solid upgrade for most people looking for the best iPad, unless we get once again disappointed at WWDC
All in all ipad os software updates are and have always been way more exciting for new features that probably will never be unsupported with atleast an m1 chip
Careful saying you think Apple might be holding back new features that take advantage of the M4 for WWDC. We all got our hopes up after the M1 and look how that went 😂
yes but this year stakeholders are pushing apple for AI features like usually the use the term ML but here they barely used it and went all in AI. so this chip is made for this and why would they unveil all the new software here? they are probably waiting for WWDC for that just a month away.
Only one thing that bugging me the most is accessory compatibility. Having said that iPad Air 13” with the pencil pro is my dream comes true spec as I couldn’t never justified for the pro line for my usage, I still find its outrageous that pencil two isn’t compatible with the new air! For mother of earth sake.
Big Whoop of an improvement…especially since you can’t use the Gen 6 Keyboard…doesn’t need to be lighter…so I will just keep the iPad Pro I already have
Since they gave the new iPad Air the old M2 chip when they announce iPadOS 18 will all the features work with the new iPad Air and will all the features work on the old M2 iPad Pro
Man.... Apple is the worst environmentally friendly company ever lol. New products made to be the least compatible with older accessories possible... Nothing said about repairability, no expandable storage.... but, IT'S THINNER and made with recycled aluminum!
My old iPad had a software malfunction and refused to work (even if I took it to a shop). I’m an artist. Was excited for the pro but now I’m reconsidering. I was thinking the new air just because I like the new pencil… but do I really want a new iPad based solely off the pencil? Trying to decide if the air is worth it or if I should just get a lesser generation
Re: The new keyboard, Apple said it would feel like a MacBook, but they didn’t give the option to install MacOS. Anyone ever try to batch rename 100 files with the “Files” app? @@TailosiveTech still, overall it's the best one.
at least no reason for you to hate on it so much.
i mean come on now, you're an apple lover.
Fun fact, here in France, there’s no 20W charger in the box anymore. So if you buy a +1500€ machine, there’s not even a way to charge it 🤣🥲
Same goes for the iPad Air in all configurations…
Apple innovation: Make AIR bigger & heavier. Make PRO thinner & lighter.
I’m waiting for the iPad Pro Max, 15.6 inches.
im just pissed about not getting a new ipad mini, as i was waiting for the redesign to buy one....
This 11” iPad Pro refresh is the point I will be upgrading. I’ll go with the base model, and can’t wait. I’ve been using almost the same design iPad for 12 years (1st gen mini and currently 5th gen mini) loved both but now taking notes and drawing at university, the mini is a restricted canvas with the 7.9 inch display
Perfect timing I was just trying to find your channel ❤ 👍🏻😁 I don't know why I never get notifications from you for some reason. And I always forget your channel name. But don't worry I always manage to find it somehow. I always love your content the most because you seem most genuine compared to a lot of other TH-camrs.
I really enjoyed watching u record the video live and it made me appreciate more the work u do. Good job and thanks for the enjoying content
What good do these thermal improvements to the back of the iPad Pro do when you have it on an Apple Folio or Keyboard folio???
Almost certainly on my way to an iPad Air, probably the new 13". The limited storage options were always what kept me from buying an Air, more than any other limitation. Now that I can get 512gb, I'll probably bite the bullet.
Did anyone notice they dropped a camera?!
Do you have a citation for that?
@@AidGum well, not really. The way you can see this is by going to the Apple Store app and checking the section called “manufacturing note” or something like that. It is below the “Compatibility” section. Which is what confuses me as to why they contradict each other.
Nightmare is right. No Ipad Mini! 😅
If you just want the nano texture display… that will cost you… an extra… $900!!!!!!!
Best review I’ve watched today - thanks!
I was also super confused after the intro i thought something groundbreaking is coming 😅
I might upgrade to the 13" iPad Air purely because of screen real estate.
Yup. I get to do the walk of shame to my Apple Store and return the Apple Pencil Pro I preordered since it will not work with my M2 iPad Pro… 😡
Facebook marketplace is gonna be flooded with Apple Pencil 2 sells 😂
I sold my M1 iPad Pro on March waiting to upgrade to the next iPad Pro’s on April. However, these months without an iPad, didn’t make me miss it at all. My iphone and MacBook in my use case are really capable on what I do.
It still a solid upgrade for most people looking for the best iPad, unless we get once again disappointed at WWDC
id love it, if apple updated and improved the onscreen keyboard on phones etc.
I was really hoping for a refreshed iPad mini here, who’s buying 3 year old iPad?
Am happy that the iPad 10 is now $350. Well done apple
I hope wwdc gives us a ton of missing stuff
All in all ipad os software updates are and have always been way more exciting for new features that probably will never be unsupported with atleast an m1 chip
Careful saying you think Apple might be holding back new features that take advantage of the M4 for WWDC. We all got our hopes up after the M1 and look how that went 😂
Stage manager was nice but then it came to the 2018 iPad so yea 😅
yes but this year stakeholders are pushing apple for AI features like usually the use the term ML but here they barely used it and went all in AI. so this chip is made for this and why would they unveil all the new software here? they are probably waiting for WWDC for that just a month away.
GoodMornanggg!
How do I use my air in a 12.9 iPad Pro case? The camera cut out is different
Big Whoop of an improvement…especially since you can’t use the Gen 6 Keyboard…doesn’t need to be lighter…so I will just keep the iPad Pro I already have
Their commitment to “sustainability”
When you say Apple, you say - I'm a rich.
I think iPad mini will release this fall alongside the iPhone 16 and have A18 pro chip 😉
I know the new iPad will not work with the old keyboard, but Will the new keyboard work with the older iPad Pro?
The 11" Pro is also actually an 11" screen, not 10.86" like the Air.
If the nanotexture will be the same as the Pro Display, it’ll be an absolute MAGNET for scratches, holy wow.
how do you do that effect wheres its you vs you idk how to explain what effect is it and what type of shooting technique do you use?
Nice review, you always give both sides!
Lol, the nano-texture is only applicable when the storage is at least 1TB and PRO model only!
Should I buy the new iPad Air or a refurbished M1 iPad Pro? Would like the landscape camera, but also FaceID and 120hz…
At this point I am convinced that they are releasing these new M2 iPad air to clear out the M2 ipad pros.
Still rocking my 10,5 pro from 2017. Best iPad ever
I really don’t understand why the M2 iPad Pro does not support the new Apple Pencil Pro, aren’t they running the same chip as the new iPad Air M2?!
How do you manage to get Tim Apple on your show???😮
Re: The new keyboard, Apple said it would feel like a MacBook, but they didn’t give the option to install MacOS. Anyone ever try to batch rename 100 files with the “Files” app? What a joke that they want you to pay so much for the iPad Pro, but it’s still in Apple kindergarten when it comes to full computer functionality.
I’m getting the 13 in pro in space black, 1TB, Magic Keyboard Black, and Apple Pencil Pro. I called most of these features and pricing on twitter. lol
