Cantrell is the overall most talented musician to emerge from the grunge scene. Yes, among all those legends, this fella wrote, sung and played like no other could
I totally agree, Jerry is a huge force and immense talent, but lest we forget Matt Cameron. Even in his 60s he still managed to play drums for both soundgarden and pearl jam on tour at the same time. That's a powerhouse.
Amen and amen! 🙏 When I think about him and his own demons, the skydiving incident years ago where his shoot almost didn't open, plus other self destructive paths that he once trod, I'm so very thankful he is still with us. Not only because of the music, but because of who he is as a person: solid, humorous, grounded, loyal, and definitely someone I WISH were in my sphere of friends to just chew the fat with for hours....
Could not agree more. I wish I had half his talent. The older I get the more I appreciate guys like him and the more I feel like I have done absolutely nothing of meaning in my life outside of raising two fine young men along with being a good husband (I think) to my wife. The ability to write and play music is just a talent that I don't have and one I would give a lot to acquire.
The songs about Layne and told by Jerry through his own eyes. Will's been nothing but an outstanding addition to this band!!! Long Live Alice in Chains🎸🎤☝👍😙
@@outsideofsociety4812 I loved the sound immediately once WD came in, but it took me a minute to accept the new AIC brand. WD is now a full piece of AIC's legacy in my mind.

That look and laugh Jerry gave William at 3:55 for extra little vocal, tells you all you need to know about the dynamic of this band and how they love to perform.
Chance Creeley that’s how jerry is to this day. he appreciates good art when he sees it. i suggest watching their unplugged version of rooster, and watch how Cantrell looks at mike inez when he plays a part he wasn’t supposed to
Jerry has always enjoyed playing with William, that’s why he’s in the band. William and his band opened for Jerry in 01/02 and then they’d pull double duty and play as Jerry’s band for his set. Years down the line when they thought about reforming the band Jerry suggested William and then he came in and the band played together and Sean and mike agreed he was the one. 15 years later they’re all still kickin ass and get along great, fantastic chemistry between Jerry/Will which is so incredibly important for a band like AIC. So happy the band is still around and they brought in William all those years ago, great decision.
Jerry.... Thank you for being so damn strong all of these years!!! You are the rock for the thousands and thousands of fans that have been left with sadness and confusion .. heart of a lion, brave and strong. Thank you!
Man they harmonize really well together. I'm so used to Layne and Jerry still. This is different from that, but its also just as good. They really play well together. Stoked that AIC found such a genuine talent.
This is sad people shouldn't call someone any name that puts down their addictions we all fight demons some more then others. It's apparent some cope in ways to make themselves feel better by putting down someone else about their demons. This world is sad and Los several friends to these demons can be the hardest pill to swallow. May there be hope In this world for people with their demons
I have loved William from minute one in this band. He harmonizes with Jerry in a way that still makes Jerry sound like Alice in Chains. His participation has afforded us three more AIC albums.
Its not William's fault that Layne is no longer here. Saying you love WIlliam's voice and the new music isn't taking anything away from Layne. Loving and missing Layne does not mean Duvall is not talented and makes great music with the band. The whole thing is so childish and is so very disrespectful to Jerry, Mike, and Sean and the efforts they put forth to keep making music as a band. We should all be grateful that they are still giving us music. We will never hear a new Soundgarden or Nirvana song again, but Alice in Chains is still giving us music.
This moves me. Just when you think you can't get over Layne. No one will ever replace him, but William Duval keeps me listening to one of my all time favorite bands. Well done. !!!
They are just incredible together. I mean, it will never be what Layne and Jerry sounded like, but William is an amazing singer. I'm really glad they found him

Such a great performance on beautiful instruments. William is just gold to the band...he can sing AND play guitar, opening new possibilities to arrange guitar parts in songs. Love the Jerry and Will vibe. ❤❤
What an incredible amazing version of Your Decission..Which is one of my absolute favourite songs ever. First time I heard it ,went non stop all day all time!Jerry Cantrell is one of the most underrated musicians..he deserves the best..he's one of the most talent genius " one in a million " gold metal master king..Love Jerry and best ever AIC ..without Jerry there would be no AIC ..Love you guys and Your Decission ..AIC Best Forever
I grew up in Seattle and adore alice in chains. Love that Jerry is still as masterful as ever.
Never appreciated William Duvall until this video. Their harmonizing was perfect here.
Such a great performance on beautiful instruments. William is just gold to the band...he can sing AND play guitar, opening new possibilities to arrange guitar parts in songs. Also check out his solo album One Alone. I saw him perform live in a tiny club in Berlin, Germany last year...only he and his voice, two acoustic Gibsons, a mic and a bit of reverb here and there, and the small audience was riveted. Awsome performer and a great musician.
Time to change has come and gone
Watched your fears become your God
It's your decision
It's your decision
Overwhelmed, you chose to run
Apathetic to the stunned
It's your decision
It's your decision
You feed the fire that burned us all
When you lie
To feel the pain that spurs you on
Black inside
No one plans to take the path that brings you lower
And here you stand before us all and say it's over
It's over
It might seem an afterthought
Yes, it hurts to you know you're bought
It's your decision
It's your decision
You feed the fire that burned us all
When you lie
To feel the pain that spurs you on
Black inside
It's your decision
It's your decision
No one plans to take the path that brings you lower
And here you stand before us all and say it's over
It's over, it's over
Jerry is the man.. wrote some of Alice Chains biggest hits, and dam that guitar sound is mindboggling good Jerry 👍and Duvall 👍🔥🔥
One of my favourites.. don't forget to tune down 1/2 step
Those 2 guitars in-sync at the end is some of the best I’ve seen.
Sounds amazing Duvall and Jerry have fantastic chemistry together both vocally and instrumentally. Very glad AIC is still alive kickin ass or else we wouldn’t have gotten anymore great videos like this one and many others
It's nice to see Jerry smiling.
Yes !!!
No matter how many years pass I will always come back to this video. Chills every single time
Excellent. He really shadows and compliments Jerry on an excellent level :) Welcome to the band, screw all the haters :)
