Lakers wasted kobe's prime for 3 seasons 05-07 Cavs were wasting Lebron 06-10 Iversons prime was completely wasted. Wolves didnt do shit for KG Hornets were wasting CP3s time
Adam Leon you're speaking facts but Allen iverson loved it in Philly and didn't want to leave them and Philly just didn't have the money to get good players so that's why but as Philly fan I think he did something truly amazing for us he is the most electric player ever
This video is for great players who spent the majority if not all of their prime being a one man show. Kobe almost always had another all star backing him up, as he spent the majority of his career playing with either Shaq or Gasol.
While the Cavs won a lot of games, Lebron didn't have another superstar on his team to turn to. His supporting cast during his first Cleveland stint mainly composed of role players (Ilgauskas, Mo Williams) or washed up veterans past their primes (Ben Wallace, Shaq) and he was often going against teams in the playoffs that were better built (Spurs, Celtics).
If Tim Duncan woulda gone to the Magic back in 2000 like he was about to, we'd be looking at TMac's career a heck of a lot differently. Not to mention a TMac/Duncan vs Kobe/Shaq Finals.
While Lebron's teams were winning 50-60 games with him, I highly doubt those teams could have won 30 games without him. Hence why they only made it to the Conference Finals twice during Lebron's first Cleveland stint.
I feel like Melo's was the worst. He wasn't on a trash team like Carter and Iverson. He never had injuries like T-Mac. He never was too old like Garnett. He *Chose* to go to a Knicks team that wasn't in any winning situation. He could have went to a team that had a superstar like Dallas, Bulls, Heat or Suns.
The thing with A.I. is that with his type of game ,he needs to be surrounded by teammates who are good defensively and can occasionally score or an above average scorer, because his game is just too ball dominant. Maybe the situation would be different if he has great team mates like when he was in denver ,but i always look at A.I. as an ageing star when he was in denver.
Vitor Hara yup dude got into the finals with aaron mckeys funky looking jump shot as his 2nd option on offense. But defensively that team is good. Klay would be great in that team.
I actually don't feel bad for AI. or even believe he wasted his prime on a terrible team. How can it be that terrible when you get to an nba finals? and you have a DPOY/HOF as the 2nd best player. The only way he could be the AI we know is with the teams style of team he had. He had elite defenders at every position who were content to just get garbage points. Remember it was a massive deal for him every year to try and win the scoring title. Sure his teams aren't pretty to watch but defensive teams rarely are. It doesn't mean they are bad teams. While supremely talented his game just doesn't mesh with other elite level scorers. AI would've needed to change his game which is something i'm not sure he could've done or have been willing to accept see his time in the US men's teams and Denver. And it's not an issue with coaching if you look at the guys who coached him for almost his whole career
@@Midori_Ringo that's the point. HE CARRIED THAT TEAM TO THE FINALS. Ain't no way that team would have made the playoffs without A.I. and even if they did they would have gotten eliminated in the first round

Had AI been more of a team player in phili they should've shit on teams with him and stackhouse and more players would've wanted to play with him.

Vince Carter and Tracy McGrady will always be my favorite basketball players. They are so underrated and were championship type players for a good portion of their career.
Iverson never been a cooperative person. Any 2nd star or super-star would be suffering cuz Iverson held the ball for 19-20 seconds in 24 seconds.. AI was the reason why Phili aint got any another superstar and that system worked. AI wasnt a good defensive player he was a good pick pocket and stealer but not a good 1 vs 1 or help defender. Thats why team had Eric Snow and Aaron McKie.. Iverson aint good with 3pt shoots thats why team had Aaron McKie. And he played with some of the best defensive centers for his time (mutombo, ratliff, dalembert) also occasionaly has the help of another star player. Such as Chris Webber, Elton Brand,Andre Miller and Andre Iquodala. It never changed at all. AI aint a good professional thats why his career ended when he was 32-33 .. Any NBA team wants to sign up with him. He goes to the Denver ? The team which has Andre Miller, Marcus Camby, Nene Hilario, Jr. Smith, Kenyon Martin, Carmelo Anthony ? What AI accomplished with better team ? Nothing sadly. And Jason Kidd went to the Finals back to back with far worse team than 2001 Sixers.. Specially 2002 Nets was terrible. Starting 5 SG was Kerry Kittles and starting center was Todd McCalloh (something like that he played only 4 season with 5pts 4rbd per game) So for that weak Eastern Conference 2000-03 Era Philadelphia was a very good team. AI was the one who aint a good team player. He had problems with Practice, with teammates, with off-ball plays ? Ok ?! So nope Iverson didnt waste his career that career and that Sixers is the only way to acumulate IVerson's streetball play style. In my opinion Paul Pierce with terrible 2002-2008 era Boston Celtics far more upsetting than AI's story. Jason Kidd with Phoneix and Nets also far more sad than AI's position. Only star/superstar player style that could fit with Iverson is defensive big men or athlethic point forwards Jermaine O'Neal Ben Wallace Lamar Odom Boris Diaw KG any other ball demanding star (such as Chris Webber, Shaq, Carmelo Anthony, Jason Kidd ,Paul Pierce etc, etc) cant mix with AI's one man show system.
Dom 2k huge fan. I love your videos even if I disagree with your point. I wanna address your Allen Iverson post. He was a great player but do you think Iverson would've wanted to share the load in his prime.? He wasn't very coachable early and I feel with another star in philly, he still wouldn't have won a championship unless he was on the Lakers. What's funny is with denver Iverson was older but he was still avg 26 a game with better efficiency. You ever notice why Denver got eliminated In the first round with Iverson but got to the WCF with billups? Now I'm not hating on Iverson but I think that Philly team did something that Denver didn't and thats play team defense. People love to say that team couldn't score but basketball has two sides and your best offense is your defense. When everyone is committed to letting you be the star while they do the gritty work, thats selfless and that took them further than talent alone. Those guys dont get enough credit for their toughness and sacrifice. I'd love to read your feedback on this one.
One thing I noticed was that Iverson and Melo were both scorers who needed the ball. Iverson was a good defender, but he needed the ball to be dominant. Billups was also a good defender, but he was more of a distributor and that's a better combo for teams to win championships than having 2 guys who score alot, but need the ball constantly.
People keep saying KD wouldve been one of these guys if he didn't go to the Warriors.....yall realize he could've made a better decision by going to a different championship contender and not damaging his Legacy as much, or not choke against the Warriors in the WCF (Westbrook choked too no lie, KD did more though if u look at his stats) or win against the 2012-2013 Heat with an actual Amazing team around him and Westbrook. And I'm not hating on him or anything, I like KD, but I don't like his decision and he has had bad luck with good teams to win a championship until he went to the Justice League (Golden State Warriors).
With Vince Carter, it was always about effort and how little he gave after his third season. He even refused to dunk anymore at one point. He was his own worst enemy. And then when his mommy took to TV to try and defend her son, all respect was lost for him.
mrslash blade Tracy made a bad decision leaving the Raptors to go be the man somewhere else. They would have been trouble had he and Vince stayed together,
Jigga My Nigga well Toronto doesn't have the best management or good draft selection so chances are that VC and Tmac would be like Westbrook and Durant. They'd probably be regulars in the ecf but never be champions because lack of talent at the bigs and in the 2000s you needed a skilled big man to win a championship. And they'd play well enough so they wouldn't have the ability to draft bosh. And even if they did get bosh there's no telling if bosh would be the player that he was or if bosh would have matured slower. Tmac leaving was the best option for Tmac it's just unfortunate that Duncan stayed in San Antonio and Hill was injury prone
Vince Carter should've been number one. T Mac left him, Kidd was old and the team wasn't as good when Carter got there as they were before, Phoenix was a title contender a couple of years before Carter got there, when he finally went to a contender Garnett was healthy, Boston had every advantage from the refs and Vince came two games short of a finals appearance. All in all the worst luck of anyone mentioned.
And he went to Dallas after they just won a championship, and after that it was to late too, Vince is so underrated it breaks my heart and i went to that magic Boston series, and that's when I realized the nba is rigged
Well he still had a chance but he doesn't care to win a ring, could've signed with Golden state, rockets, Spurs, this off season but he went to Sacramento, a team not even close to the playoff race in the west
The majority of Kobe's career was spent playing with Shaq or Gasol and considering that the Lakers made the Finals 7 times in 11 years and winning 5 of those, it's a safe bet to say that the Kobe didn't spend his prime on trash teams.
Dame Kobe won his only mvp with Gasol backing him up. This video is for players who spent pretty much their entire careers playing with bad supporting cast. Not for players who spent a few years alone, but had long stretches where they had good teammates. Kobe's prime was from 2000-2013 and he had Shaq or Gasol helping him out for most of that time. You're acting like he was dealing with Smush Parker for his entire career.
100% agreed. Dominique Wilkins could be another one but I felt the most for Iverson who should've won 2 or 3 championships and being recognized for what he is. The whole idea of ballhogging is flatout bullshit when you got no decent options around you. Kobe is a good example how a dominant scorer is perceived when being on a terrible or a great team. Same story for Melo, also for Westbrook who wasn't on a terrible team but was unfortunate with Harden and Durant walking as well as facing both the Warriors and the Heat like Stockton, Malone, Miller, Ewing, Barkley and Payton were facing Jordan and weren't in the right situation to beat him at the time like Isiah Thomas was for example.
Billboardguy1 yeah you got a good point. Steve Nash is one of the few or last pure point guards but he fell short and should have gotten a championship for sure he certainly deserved to get one.
Though LeBron has won 3 rings and 4 mvps etc.. I still want to put him on this list LeBron would have won more rings by now than Mj. It's so crazy how good he was and young. Also how dumb the Cavs were for not trading JJ Hickson for Amar'e Stoudemire in his prime with the Suns 😡😡😡 so many of his prime years gone to waste
Vince Carter's career was a lot more bitter sweet as even though he wasn't playing at his all star level in his second half of his career, he still tried to go at least win 1 ring in his life, sadly he kept going to great teams *after* they had went to the finals or were finals worthy, which arguable makes him one of the best players to not win a ring, or at least the most persistent
OfficialGrimmjow Duncan Dirk Barkley Malone > KG... I love KG, but he ain't the best power forward ever. I'd put him at the 5th best tho, and you could make an argument that he's above Malone and Barkley. So maybe 3rd best? No fucking WAY is he better than Dirk though. Personally I consider Dirk to be better than Duncan. What Dirk did in 2011 was insane.
What Did You Do To My Drink Nah Dirk wasn't better. What he did was amazing but there was just nothing Garnett couldn't do. He was racking up 5+ assists as a pf with elite defense. Honestly the only thing Dirk was better at was scoring. Kg was all around.
Nets 4life True, but imo Dirk will always be one of my favorite players. Mostly because watching lebrons cocky ass get kicked in the finals by some team with one all star on it was fucking hilarious.
How is kg's story sad? he loyally stuck it out with the t wolves and got paid a shitload of money then later on took a pay cut to get a ring....sounds like a dream career...
Dom2k forgot to mention that Tracy McGrady joined the spurs bench in 2012-13 and came up short of winning an nba championship thanks to Ray Allen and the Miami heat
T-Mac, Carter, AI, and KG never had the fortune of playing with teammates that could have helped them reach the top during their primes. T-Mac and Carter were both teammates on the Raptors and maybe could have had a championship-caliber team built around them if T-Mac had stuck around, but he had no interest in playing in his cousin’s shadow so he left for the Magic. AI made it to the NBA Finals with the 76ers only once during his prime where they came face to face with the Shaq and Kobe-led Lakers and surprisingly won Game 1 of the series, but they weren’t going to win the championship as they got completely overwhelmed and lost the next 4 games due to the significant difference in size, talent, and skill between the 2 teams. KG and the Timberwolves were doomed to playoff mediocrity for the entirety of KG’s prime as KG never really had great teammates to rely on and he only won a championship after getting traded to the Celtics and settling into a complementary role behind Pierce as the Celtics were his team. Imagine if these 4 guys had the same kind of teammates that Kobe or Duncan were fortunate enough to play with during their primes. They’d probably be looking at 1 or 2 championships apiece among them.
Wilt Chamberlain spent most of his prime on a lackluster Warriors team in Philly and SanFran. They won 1 title, but he had no good teammates until he got to LA where he was in his 30s
You forgot about Pete Maravich and Oscar Robertson. Big O got a chance when he went to play with Lew Alcindor and the Bucks, and had Jerry Lucas with him after a few years, but he spent a long time playing for the Cincinnati Royals without much help. Maravich was all used up by the time he got to Boston. Imagine how he would have done with a really good forward or center to catch those eye popping passes.
Another great video as usual dom 👌 , bro imagine if Kobe and KG teamed up in 2006 that would've been crazy , the chemistry is definitely there ( multiple all star games ) , man just thinking about that sends chills down my spine 🔥

Not really. A Lebron led team is at least a 45-50 win team a season. If he ever not left, his career would be more or less like Malone/ Stockton.

Only star/superstar player style that could fit with Iverson is defensive big men or athlethic point forwards
Jermaine O'Neal
Ben Wallace
Lamar Odom
Boris Diaw
KG
any other ball demanding star (such as Chris Webber, Shaq, Carmelo Anthony, Jason Kidd ,Paul Pierce etc, etc) cant mix with AI's one man show system.
the intro is so smooth and soothing
A.I. the best pound for pound nba player
Aka how 4 legends stayed loyal to their teams and fanbases.
Miah Marvelous And that's why the Wallace Pistons won.
This is what you gotta show to people who don't want superstars to move
Bro he did what he did because he wanted to play for a selfless team that just wanted to have fun and pay him. Nobody else could match that.
Sorry but what everyone else has said is more or less right. Why would KD want to keep playing with Westbrick....
The thunder made wcf almost every year so how was the team bad.
Never forget LeBrons 11 years in Cleveland with 1 ring, and Chris Paul in Charlotte and The clippers
intro is lengthy
With Vince Carter, it was always about effort and how little he gave after his third season. He even refused to dunk anymore at one point. He was his own worst enemy. And then when his mommy took to TV to try and defend her son, all respect was lost for him.
Melo should be on this
FoZe JewchainZ he did it to himself
Melo's prime being wasted was a majority his fault
Adi Kancharla Okay, and? his prime was still wasted, even if he did it to himself.
Little Dick Clique how technically everything looked great for the knicks at the time bad luck and injurys caught up too him
FoZe JewchainZ i mena he had some solid teams in Denver.
How about Kenna Walker on the Bobcats/Hornets?
Tracy and Iverson Walton should be on here
mrslash blade
Tracy not so much since he was always getting hurt, but AI absolutely.
mrslash blade Tracy made a bad decision leaving the Raptors to go be the man somewhere else.
Walton lmao he won a title in Portland in 1977 and was on the way to easily winning another title in 1978 before he got hurt .
Anish Gandhi you right
KG aging in dog years, Iverson shooting so much that his wrist should have snapped, I'm dying!!!!!
Ben Simmons = Grant Hill
With out injuries
Thank god u uploaded this dom I'm was bored AF
Vince Carter should've been number one. T Mac left him, Kidd was old and the team wasn't as good when Carter got there as they were before, Phoenix was a title contender a couple of years before Carter got there, when he finally went to a contender Garnett was healthy, Boston had every advantage from the refs and Vince came two games short of a finals appearance. All in all the worst luck of anyone mentioned.
And he went to Dallas after they just won a championship, and after that it was to late too, Vince is so underrated it breaks my heart and i went to that magic Boston series, and that's when I realized the nba is rigged
If only that trade had happened in 2001 and not in 2005
Well he still had a chance but he doesn't care to win a ring, could've signed with Golden state, rockets, Spurs, this off season but he went to Sacramento, a team not even close to the playoff race in the west
Garnett spent 12 years surrounded by mostly shit players. Carter didn't stay with the same shitty team for near that long.
I enjoyed so much seeing TMAC play. He much like a poet
Kobe prime years were wasted on trash teams, quiet as kept.
The majority of Kobe's career was spent playing with Shaq or Gasol and considering that the Lakers made the Finals 7 times in 11 years and winning 5 of those, it's a safe bet to say that the Kobe didn't spend his prime on trash teams.
Nathaniel Levesque Kobe prime years he was playing with Smush and Kwame Brown and wasn't contending
Dame Kobe has 5 rings lol
AI would have loved to play with someone like shaq or gasol
This is what KD wanted to avoid
KD had a good team
OKC weren't willing to pay anyone so all the stars left
That only happened once, and you people never shut up about it
Mr. Generic my dude...letting Harden walk was absolutely stupid. Sam Presti screwed that team over.
Johnny Kilroy nah cuz him and westbrook prob wouldve ended separating anyway like shaq and kobe
I think Dame is about to be on this list
Steve Nash?
Billboardguy1 yeah you got a good point. Steve Nash is one of the few or last pure point guards but he fell short and should have gotten a championship for sure he certainly deserved to get one.
jjay8319 There is no such thing as a pure point guard
"He played with so many no names and 2K generics" hahahahahahaha
Though LeBron has won 3 rings and 4 mvps etc.. I still want to put him on this list LeBron would have won more rings by now than Mj. It's so crazy how good he was and young. Also how dumb the Cavs were for not trading JJ Hickson for Amar'e Stoudemire in his prime with the Suns 😡😡😡 so many of his prime years gone to waste
Billboardguy1 im with you, if rings were the breaking point in the GOAT argument, bill russell is the GOAT
Did you finish crying yet?
Nice video Dom!
Kevin Garnett the 🐐
Evan Stillday
L , not even the goat of PFs
+Eddiemanns nah, KG is better than Duncan, Duncan was just blessed to be on the Spurs
OfficialGrimmjow
Duncan Dirk Barkley Malone > KG...
Nets 4life
True, but imo Dirk will always be one of my favorite players.
Mostly because watching lebrons cocky ass get kicked in the finals by some team with one all star on it was fucking hilarious.
Please do a video on the all time team official rosters
Warriors blew a 3-1 lead.
Cavs 1652
They also came back from a 3-1 lead and executed a 3-1 lead to win the NBA Finals.
Trey Magathan aight salty bandwagon
Cavs 1652 Good point.
Trey Magathan but it was in the final. The warriors had the biggest chock in NBA history
Nasiking 113 they didnt choke wtf....their best player was injured & draymond got suspended....
Dom probably my new favorite TH-camr
I'm early let me think of a joke
The kings GM
W
How is kg's story sad? he loyally stuck it out with the t wolves and got paid a shitload of money then later on took a pay cut to get a ring....sounds like a dream career...
Please don't press the read more bottom,PLEASE NO!
Fuckin Savage
Jalen Alvarez Vasquez L
TRUTH ALWAYS HURTS!! great video!
notification gang!!
Dre
Double Dre.
Dom2k forgot to mention that Tracy McGrady joined the spurs bench in 2012-13 and came up short of winning an nba championship thanks to Ray Allen and the Miami heat
Kevin Durant would've been one of these guys had he not made the best decision of his career
Not really
really
I Feel Like Yeezus W
I Feel Like Yeezus L
He played with Westbrook, Harden, ibaka. The only bad team he was on was his rookie year.
That zoom in on Ty Lue at 7:30 was savage.
Great video, great players as well
T-Mac, Carter, AI, and KG never had the fortune of playing with teammates that could have helped them reach the top during their primes. They’d probably be looking at 1 or 2 championships apiece among them.
im 34 yrs old and I had to watch my two favorite players waste their prime years on average to below average teams which WAS painful.
Did you get a new mic or something? Your voice work is sound smooth and groovy my friend, and thanks for all the great videos
Dom I love your videos do one about the warriors
That tmac hit me hard, I grew up with NBA heartbreak
Keep up with the good content
Nice work Dom. I subbed you when you only had like 1,000 sub now look how many you have
Man always wished VC would've gotten that ring...and those nets years he had some games with crazy stats and amazing buzzer beaters
Damn, A.I. So heartbreaking.
Another great video as usual dom 👌 , bro imagine if Kobe and KG teamed up in 2006 that would've been crazy , the chemistry is definitely there ( multiple all star games ) , man just thinking about that sends chills down my spine 🔥
Can u do a video on the greatest coaches?
Not to mention just as t mac left or lando they had just drafted Dwight howard
Ty Lue gettin lit up in these highlights a lot
