I love that he took a minus movement speed chaos boon and still got the wr. Also maybe if you didn't play on a mac you wouldn't have to pause it every chamber.
@@steventeglman Because the game performs terribly on his mac and he has to pause to allow time for the game to load/catch up to prevent lag. Game timer also stops during the pauses so he was still able to get WR.

hey, welcome! i wrote up a little bit about my pausing so i'm going to copy paste that below. in summation, this has no actual effect on the game really and is mostly for player benefit I pause for two reasons mostly. One is to look at the upcoming chamber rewards and decide which one I want without passing in game time, which is common for any IGT run. The other is more uncommon-my game lags heavily at times and it usually comes in spikes, so when I can feel this happening I pause the game and wait for the lag to go away (wiggling my cursor in the pause menu helps me get a feel for when its gone). It can be a little frustrating to play and watch but it is what it is unfortunately
@@yudhok You'll start to get sub 12 quite often when you gain experience. Sub 10 is kinda rare (I have a few sub 10s, one being almost a sub 9 [9.04]). Less than that is just a lot of skill and timing and also some rng luck.
On beowulf, the dash honestly doesn't really matter that much. Your damage is coming from the cast, and any additional damage from dash is kind of unnecessary. I just avoid tidal dash since the knockback can mess up with enemy groupings. Thunder dash is one of the better ones actually since it opens up Sea Storm, which for some reason doesn't apply to your casts but DOES apply to your dash strikes and attacks, so it's nice extra damage. You normally don't want a dash that opens up a non-Mirage Shot duo (since that's by far the most important duo you want), but I kinda got forced into it early in Tartarus, which is why I sell it later. Once I get Mirage, the dash really just doesn't matter so I just fill it up in Elysium with the first one I see, which happens to be Thunder dash again.

@@sabalghoo Sea Storm applies to anything that provides enough knockback, and Beowulf's attack and dash strike have innate knockback so Sea Storm actually applies to them.
It helps me test for input delay when my game is lagging; I can tell how badly / if it’s lagging via the menu, so when the input delay isn’t there I go back to playing the game

@@jinkubs-4538 Essentially what Noah said, yes. Larger AOE and one half of mirage prereqs instantly is great. Mirage is the single most important boon on Beowulf runs (barring cast), since it's actually bugged for all Flare casts. The 2nd shot will do a full 100% damage instead of the 30% it says in the tooltip, so this bug makes Mirage Shot incredibly powerful on Beowulf. To be fair, however, passion flare (aphro's cast) is still very good, and my previous Beowulf PB (as well as the only other unmodded Beowulf sub6) used passion flare. The damage increase is very nice and noticeable compared to Flood Flare. Bit of a preference thing, mostly.
@@jinkubs-4538 I think it's a great build overall, for both newer and more experienced players. I would recommend at the very least trying it out and seeing how it feels compared to passion flare. Just remember to prioritize mirage shot over everything, and try not to open up other duos when you don't have mirage yet (like sea storm or lightning rod. In this run I was forced to open sea storm with thunder dash early but managed to sell the dash to avoid lightning rod blocking mirage shot). Try it out and see how it feels!! Like I said, it's a bit of a preference thing so neither option is wrong.
For boons you're primarily looking for one of passion flare, flood flare, or trippy flare, and the duo boon mirage shot (duo between poseidon and artemis). Mirage gives 100% damage to the 2nd cast, not the 30% that it says in the description, to all of Beowulf's casts so it's pretty busted on this aspect. The best hammer is Charged Shot by far, though it definitely feels different to play than regular Beowulf. Sudden Rush is also very good.
@@Okomecloud Breaching Rush is a decent hammer, I consider it behind Charged Shot / Sudden Rush / Ferocious Guard but more useful than the rest. Minotaur Rush can be a lot of damage but I don't like how long you have to wait to charge up the actual full rush so I tend not to get use out of it.
so actually neither, if you press the menu that opens the boon screen (the share button on my DS4 controller) at the beginning of a room, it will display the chamber number without actually opening your boons. at this point i do it in nearly every room out of sheer habit which is why it might seem like a UI haha

Me who (is kinda new) only has 7 clears on run 30 decided to look up speed run of hades thinking I was doing pretty good clearing tarturus in 4 minutes🤣 of course you have more advantages then me (and skill) such as like all the upgrades I haven’t discovered yet
There's a pretty good chance this won't count if the game was newer and more people were paying attention atm. Your lag slowed down the timer and game, giving you more time to input commands. On a run like Beowulf, this is an unbelievable advantage.

Dash length is just more important. Also, bull rush and achilles spear dash can help mitigate movement debuffs for sure.

Thanatos pauses the in-game timer for a room that he appears in, which is why it doesn't count there.

why did you choose posiedon cast over aphrodite cast even tho aphrodite does more damage? correct me if im wrong
