I just bought one of these this week. Same color but burgundy interior. So far I'm loving it. I needed a vehicle big enough to haul the kid and wife, but I already have a truck. So this was a good compromise. Good enough room. Super comfy. Drives great. Tons of features and awesome interior. Could be a little faster but its been a nice drive so far.
Honest review. Very goofy review but uses it to not make the videos boring. honestly made it really well very detailed and I'm excited to see more of your videos.
Hey Adam thank you very much. That is the whole entire heart and objective for my channel. I can’t believe how well you summarized it. I add in a little bit of goofy humor to keep things flowing but try to be very thorough. I look forward to you being part of my channel!!
Beautiful car and nice Chicago reference. However, the line is "Saturday in the park..." and "Another day in the park..." not "What a day in the park." A point guard, a songwriter, and a car reviewer, rolled into one. Excellent.
Nice review Jeff. But I was expecting the pull tab on the passenger seat to lead to an ejection lever joke with song lines from Foreigner’s “Urgent” 😊. I wish my wife’s new Corolla Cross had that feature (the extendibility that is)…
How can I tell whether a 2022 X3 has particular features such as: hands-free tailgate, remote start, parking assist, etc.? Apparently it has the following features (but no window sticker / Monroney label, to confirm): Premium Package 2, ConnectedDrive, Live Cockpit Pro, Comfort Access, tow hitch.
I noticed that this X3 doesn't have the HUD (Head's Up Display. I love that option in my X1. I prefer the analogue gauges of my X1 and you can program the X1 features by hiring someone that has the software and ODBII connector to add features or turn off the auto start/stop feature to make it manual. You can also upgrade the power with another program for Stage 1 or Stage 2 turbo engine and transmission response. I went with 19" Niche aftermarket wheels and performance tires for summer and kept the 18" for winter. I also removed the run flat tires and keep a flat tire aerosol repair kit in the back. I also installed Pioneer tweeters and a Pioneer powered sub with a remote control that fits in the coin box; This sound upgrade was huge because the sound system although an upgrade over the base model is actually better and less expensive than the optional $1K Harmon Kardon system. I found a rearview mirror with a compass and Homelink for the garage door opener and a box for that covers the hole under the arm rest that looks OEM and even has slots for the power and USB connectors on EBAY. The Canadian model gets an executive option that includes thicker front glass for a quieter ride, something that wasn't an option in the US model for some reason. Most importantly the quality of the product: My 2018 X1 has been flawless. I've never had a single issue that required a trip back to the dealer. I'm 65 and have owned so many vehicles over the years and this is the first one that was perfect. I will admit that certain things like the keyless entry memory for both key FOBs has had a few issues from time to time however I've been able to reprogram it to work properly. This is something that I may bring up at the next oil change next month. The other thing that I added was a light under the door so that I get the BMW M logo at night on the ground on both front doors. I think this is cool. My HUD is also very cool when used with the navigation and the split screen that shows the direction for exits. I love the programmable buttons on the dash. You can use for example button 1 for your up to 40 preset favorite AM/FM and Sirius XM stations which by the way are different for both Key FOBs, kind of like his and her preset favorites. Button 2 could be a home button for navigation so that no matter where you are if you get lost you press that button and you can find your way back home with the navigation system without having to enter a destination. Another button could be a set of favorite phone numbers. My X1 came with the optional ICC (intelligent Cruise Control) Parking Assist where the X1 can park itself perfectly by just following the instructions on screen while the vehicle turns the steering wheel. Another cool option is the remote rear seat release and two position rear seats which you demonstrated in your video. All in all I don't see any difference between the X1 and the X3 and in fact I find the rear leg room is also quite good for tall people. The dash while not full digital like the X3 does have 2 sections where there is a digital display and has a few tricks too. My X1 also came with adjustable/adaptive dampers which is great when you put it in sport mode and you get the horsepower and torque gauges in the infotainment screen. My X1 also came with adaptive LED headlights with the cornering function. When you turn the wheel the lights illuminate the side that you're turning in to. I also added an option in the software to allow for LED aftermarket lights for the fogs and break lights in the back. The rear parking lights and license plate lights are already LED. Honestly, if you don't have a family like empty nesters and don't need the extra space of an X3 I think the X1 with the significantly better gas mileage is a much smarter alternative. My X1 averages 36 MPG on the highway and sometimes even better depending on road and weather conditions. I recently rented a Honda Accord LX base mode for 1 month while in Florida l and I was quite surprised at how disappointed I was with that product. The infotainment system was, well not an infotainment system and the seats were horribly uncomfortable. I've owned both a Honda Accord EX-R with a leather interior and a Honda Civic and this Accord was not a good vehicle. I looked cool from the outside but that was about it and the gas mileage was actually not a good as the BMW! I was averaging 34 MPG. I know that doesn't sound like much but when you consider how much bigger an X1 is it's a lot. I also have the panoramic sunroof with auto sunshade. I noticed that your X3 had pull down shades that you didn't mention. My X1 came with very dark tinted windows all around especially in the back and my rear spoiler is a lot bigger than the one on the X3. A big plus is the fact that BMW lowered the base price of the X1 quite substantially last year and overall it competes much more favorably over SUVs like the Acura RDX, Audi Q3 or the Mazda CX-5. I wouldn't compare this to any Hyundai or Kia compact SUV as the interior quality is just not even close and especially the ride quality. With the right tire and wheel set-up and getting rid of the those horrible run-flats, the ride quality is amazing for a vehicle this size. Also new for 2022 for the X1 are the optional M brake calipers. I believe that you can also upgrade your older BMW X1 to these at the dealer now too. I don't miss Apple Car play or Android Auto as my X1 came with some built in apps like Spotify and the Bluetooth interface is high quality. It is important to note that BMW offers these vehicles with 4 years bumper to bumper warranty and in Canada 4 years no charge maintenance which also includes your oil changes. BMW also upgrades the Navigation maps for free each year. My map updates are now done automatically by satellite. My X1 was ordered with pearl metallic white and paint protection. Paint protection is cool because you can hose off the car and most of the dirt just washes off. I also added the 3M chip and paint protection film for the hood, headlights and fogs. I highly recommend this aftermarket product as it protects you hood from stone chips and your headlights and fog lights from scratches, chips or discoloration.
@@atoury That's ok because JD ranks the mini higher in overall quality and BMW lowered the base price by a lot. Also the X1 is now BMWs best selling vehicle 2 years in a row.
Hi Jeff, you mentioned it had heavy steering. Is it also heavy in parking lots making it difficult to maneuver or does it have low speed steering assist? I'm considering getting one for my wife. Thanks!
If you get the m sport package (like this one shown) you can also add the dynamic handling package which adjusts the steering so it’s light and soft while parking; however, even the regular non m version adjusts to a very light steering while parking, this car is very smart!
I drive a 2020 X3 sdrive. Living in a hot climate state who will never take the X3 offroading since it's not an offroad vehicle. It's a Turbo inline 4 with 248hp and 258lb-ft of torque...considering I'm never going to drive in ice or snow, it's amazing. More than enough power to zip through the slow traffic drivers and super comfortable. The xdrive would help keep the vehicle stable over snow or ice but I get 26.1mpg combined, and the xdrive would give you slightly less.
Thanks for watching & Subscribing :) What do you think of the X3? Also, what other brands and models do you want to see upcoming on my channel? Jeff
Honestly man, this is a CERTIFIED dad take / review. 10/10. Will absolutely be coming back for more. Holla!!

Hello. How has the x3 held up? I’m currently in the market for an suv and this is one I’m considering
I'm glad you enjoyed the vehicle that I built for a living ever day, made me smile.

Wanting for mine in tanzanite blue with m sport package , red interior in March. had to come from Germany as a special order.

Why BMW X3 does not have hood insulator ? Is it safe for the paint on the top of the hood, especially for the long term use ?
Best review I’ve seen so far, kept me entertained “nothing but a G thing” 😂

Can anyone tell me if nee x3’s have digital key?
Nope
yes they do
I saw some reviews on Edmunds where the phone connectivity had problems. Anyone also experience this?

I thought M Sport you got painted brake calipers? Is that available on X3 or do I have to go M340i
You'll need to order it with the Dynamic Handling Package to get the painted calipers.
it was mentioned that the color is non metallic but I think the color is metallic.
Brooklyn Gray is a Metallic color.
Lol...Holla❤️❤️❤️😂😂😂 I love it
Brooklyn Grey is in fact a metallic finish…maybe not obvious on an overcast day?
Correct. It’s actually called Brooklyn Grey Metallic.

What about the spare tire?
Btw, I would love a comparison with BMW M3

I bought the same model in the same color, but with 21 inch wheels and the sensateck black interior
I like it
It's really sharp inside and out. I was very impressed.
Does this 2022 BMW X3 xDrive 30i have a factory window tinting, back and four windows?
X3 vs X4
Jeff, can you get the 2022 Lexus RX 350? It is a Toyota product and better than the BMW. by the way, Merry Christmas!!
