@@RandomJunkChannel you have a website? Mine needs repair also. No power. Part of the light strip in the middle was also detached. Anyway to contact you?
I do not. Have not had one to work on. But if it is similar to the octo-squeeze or the plane ride it is a timing issue with the gears or the micro switch is bad.
brother is great this video, i am very happy and my wife sending you five URRA URRA URRA , AND WELL THIS TRHOFI IS MY, JAJAJA ONE DONNA TONIGHT bye brother . aaaaa other iten were i bay the pinion an the other elements thank you. remember i am live in colombia.
I don't understand why they don't make them to last. If we hear that they breakdown and cannot be fixed it puts doubt in a lot of people wondering whether to buy one. I would love to buy one but not when they have a short life. If they don't last a lifetime they are not worth the cost.
Nothing is made to last anymore, if it did companies would never survive due to costs and low return business. Our society is replace rather than repair, I am trying to show that repair is cheaper than replace.
Here is a link to the small gear www.amazon.com/uxcell-30Pcs-Plastic-Accessories-Teeth/dp/B07DH9JT8S/ref=pd_vtp_328_2/137-5070729-9013449?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07DH9JT8S&pd_rd_r=58bc5f0d-8896-4d2e-8ff9-e44a8ddf4352&pd_rd_w=G73A3&pd_rd_wg=2vehU&pf_rd_p=4c59963f-307a-4d53-b0f5-7922eec09cff&pf_rd_r=D8AC2829X52X8FPAPY6C&psc=1&refRID=D8AC2829X52X8FPAPY6C
Sounds like a power issue. Either bad power coming in or something internally has failed in the circuitry or a motor. It would have to be opened to determine cause if it is not the AC adapter.
I just opened up the xmas boxes and found that are Elf Made Toy Factory has no sound. It only makes a buzzing noise. I replaced the speaker looking for the easy fix but still no sound only buzzing. Everything else works as normal and I see no visible burn marks on the board. Any suggestions other than toss it? Very informative videos! These things can get hectic when your kids grow attached to them and they no longer work. lol!
Is it animated? Most of the time a bad (shorted) motor will cause buzzing in the speaker. You can always email pictures or video's to randomjchannel@gmail.com. We can try and diagnose easier that way.
I used to be a Lemax retailer for more than 10 years - they Purposely design them to break - there is absolutely no mechanical reason why you would have to use a rubber O-ring other than that rubber wears out whereas nylon doesn't!!
I have this same unit. My mechanics are fine, but the LEDs on the top all died this year. I was thinking a driver on the lower board went bad, but I see from your video that there is another small board in the top, which appears to have the LED controller on it. I'm now thinking that is the issue. Hard to think a chip would just fail like that, though. The other issue is that all of my other rides come on when you apply power to the transformer, this one will not power on unless you manually UNPLUG the transformer from the ride, and then plug it back in while the transformer is powered. It doesn't work to just unplug the transformer, no matter how long you leave it sitting to drain. That is the strangest issue yet! Any ideas?
Most likely the board in the top section. The wires can break the solder joints up there. Seen it on a few that where sent in to repair. I would check there first for that then if you have a variable power supply, try and connect the light string directly to power at a low voltage, around 2 volts and go up from there to see if they turn on. Do not exceed the voltage of the unit, 4.5 volts, if you test thr lights directly and make sure that at least one side is disconnected from the circuit board when you do to prevent send power backwards through the board.
Funny you sent his now. I was able to get the top section accessed and it was just a cold solder joint. Still can't figure out the power issue. So odd that you have to physically unplug the DC jack before it will start running. I'm thinking that relay has something to do with it, but just started digging into that.
@@RandomJunkChannel So after the LED's were repaired by fixing the cold solder joint on the surface mount IC (talk about bad QC), my spin stopped working! Go figure. I have repaired most of my Lemax rides at least once, with the exception of this one. I'm a former electronics tech with a 3D printer, so I think I can repair most anything. :) Anyway, I found a much easier way to get this one open. I used a razor saw to just slice through underneath the post, right where it meets the base. Clean cut and you can't see it. Takes about 10 seconds per post. Also, I used a Dremel to drill out the plastic rivets holding down the spiral sheet. That left easy exposure to the screws in the bottom plate without any sheet damage. I will screw the sheet back down and print some screw covers (if needed). I will also leave the posts unglued at the bottom, as you cannot tell the difference. I always leave the ride so that they it be easily opened again in the future. The problem was the same as yours BTW - broken gear tooth. I'm thinking it bound up when I replaced the planetary gear. Maybe it wasn't quite lined up - even though it worked fine for a few minutes. I printed a replacement gear and all is good now. I thought you might like these tips for the next time one comes in... and I'm sure it will!
@@screen-o-matic The reason why your "spin function" stopped working is because the tiny O-ring is busted!! Lemax PURPOSELY design it this way so that they ALL break down within 1 - 2 years - "designed obsolescence!!"
90% of the "no Movement" problems come from either a slipping or broken O-ring drive - this is typical "designed to break" philosophy of "Made in China" products ($100 item depends upon a 10 cent O-ring final drive) - I know this for a fact as I used to be a Lemax retailer and designer back in 2002 - 2019.
thank you
Yeah just bought one used probably same thing with the small gear

Large gear I was unable to locate. I rotated it to allow it to grab new teeth.
Hope this helps

What I'm finding is the 10-tooth gear breaking or the motor shorting out. I figured I would find more broken belts than I do.
