    Brilliant as always. I think I am up to 4 pieces fixed by your channel! This is a wonderful piece, color, the up escalator is charming. So, another data point. I was focusing on lower turntable, but start nothing without looking at you stuff a couple of times. My house came with front window out, I had minimally had glued it, so was able to pull it off. After your video and observing the motion I decided to try something. The handrail came unglued without trying. I then did the attached experiment. ... Well no vid upload. But I inserted a stick and levered the side of the escalator 1/8" or so. It presses the gears on the other side. Click goes away. Will try linger term experiment.

    I’m so excited for this video! I really appreciate your repair videos; they are such a good resource for people like me who wouldn’t have a clue how to repair Lemax pieces otherwise.

    Nice job as usual. You were talking about returns. Lemax apparently doesn't want anything back. I bought a Haunted Cuckoo Haus from them directly. One of the Grim Reapers on the carousel had been glued a few mill's too close to center, his shoulder was scraping on the doorway. I knew I could fix it, but hey, I wanted to spend cash on one that works. I contacted them with the problem, they asked me if I wanted a new one or a refund and keep the first one regardless. Of course I said send me another. The first one just required a dremel tool to the inside shoulder and some paint. Can't even tell there was a problem. So it was a BOGO deal for me.

    Thank you. Now I can fix mine. I just popped the top gear off so the escalator did not spin. Mine did the same thing. Could not figure out how to take the top off but now I do. Thank you

    I have just returned a brand new Lemax Wooden Nutcracker Factory which has the same issue on the escalator belt gear. It was making loud tapping noises as the little figurines pass under the escalator. It looks like this is a common issue on models with escalator belts since the display item instore also have the same problem. Lemax needs to address this design flaw.

    I have been involved with Lemax in Sydney, Australia for 20 years, but not anymore - Every Lemax item is designed to be impossible to repair, either because they never make spare parts available to the agent, or they make them "modular, so that they are 99% impossible to get at the parts!! Good Luck.

    Hi, after 2 years of use (only the Christmas period) the area of rotating characters has started to make noise. In practice, the wheel that makes them move freezes on some characters and makes an audible “tac”. I sprayed some silicone spray and it’s quite improved. What can I do without disassembling everything? Just remove the bottom lid and spray them or don’t I solve anything? Thank you

    • @RandomJunkChannel
      @RandomJunkChannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like a gear may be cracked. The audible tac or click with the freezing of the motion is a sign of a gear failure. Lubricants will help but will not stop it from happening.
      Every once in a while I will find the clicking to be related to an overcasting on the rotating parts catching, or something stuck in the track, some debris such as dirty or grit.
      Check are it for debris and clean it out, if nothing changes, I would go back to a bad/cracked gear,

    • @fabiochiaiese6570
      @fabiochiaiese6570 ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn’t disassemble anything for fear of breaking everything. In the end after half a day of use the noise has almost disappeared and the characters swing a minimum that I notice from fixed

    Just out of curiosity have you ever thought about making silicone molds of the gears when you take them out? I’m sure they use a lot of the same gears in their buildings.

    Hi I used the wrong power adapter cord on accident and when I put the right one in it doesn’t turn on I think I blue then fuse from the other one…would I still be able to fix it?

    • @RandomJunkChannel
      @RandomJunkChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are no fuses. You might of blown a component, if so, hopefully it isn't the blob chip. Most everything on the circuit board is replaceable. When you plug it in does anything work, even for a moment?

    Got the gear pop dealt with. But had a plastic on plastic scissor noise, every 40 seconds or so. Pulled the foam, click came back. Noticed One bag was hitting in inside bottom of handrail. Gave a little tug and that cleared. still getting plastic on plastic at top. Reviewed video again, likely brushing at top on flip. Probably every second or third time around.

      This piece, same as the Horrid Haunted Hotel, use the same conveyer belt system and they come out of alignment a lot, or they were never in alignment from the factory. It is a trial and error process to fix each individual one. They have a tendency of tipping or tilting towards the front of the piece rubbing the railing. Centering it varies on severity of angle. but in the process, make sure you don't bind up the ring and worm drive, it can crack, although the gears are easily attainable, it is still s hassle and delay. Propping the edge up as you mentioned earlier, it good, I used layered glue to fix mine versus a stick, but either is good if it works.
      Rubbing sounds can be mitigated by lubricants, I use 3M dry lube or a PTFE grease depending on where and what is rubbing. And the clicking, if not a broken gear, is most likely an alignment issue with the gears when adjusting the conveyer belt.

    Ciao, complimenti per la riparazione, sei stato bravissimo.
    La stessa attrazione mi è stata regalata. Ti volevo chiedere se è normale che si sente il motore mentre è in funzione, tipo un ronzio.
    Ovviamente con la musica si sente di meno, ma senza musica diventa un po fastidioso.
    Oppure deve essere silenziosa e la mia è guasta ?
    Grazie anticipatamente.

    • @RandomJunkChannel
      @RandomJunkChannel  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Grazie. Se il rumore è eccessivo, il motore potrebbe non funzionare o un ingranaggio non è allineato o lubrificato. È un pezzo rumoroso a causa della configurazione del meccanismo, ma non sono sicuro di quanto sia rumoroso il tuo rispetto alla media. Un'ultima cosa, controlla che non ci siano parti mobili che potrebbero sfregare, questo è comune. Spero che questo ti aiuti.

      @@RandomJunkChannel i movimenti delle varie scene, funzionando benissimo, sono fluidi.
      Il ronzio sembra venire dalla base a sinistra dove i personaggi entrano nel centro commerciale. La cosa brutta è che non saprei se questo ronzio sia normale dovuto al movimento dei meccanismi ed del motorino.
      Essendo trascorsi 14 giorni dall'acquisto non posso nemmeno chiedere la sostituzione.
      Gentilmente c'è la possibilità di farti sentire l'audio o mandarti un video ? Essendo tu l'esperto saprai capire sicuramente se sia normale ed io mi sto isolo preoccupando inutilmente.
      Per piacere mi puoi aiutare? Grazie infinite.

    I have a couple of Lemax Chrismas houses that were working up until last night. It’s like they all just shorted out when turning on individually. Upon turning on the power switch wheel, the lights flashed, then made a pffit sound then it just died 😔. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    • @RandomJunkChannel
      @RandomJunkChannel  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Are they all Lemax? The pffit sound is concerning. The flash from the lights, was the flash brighter than the normal operation of the lights? If you smell around the houses, do you smell a burnt smell?
      Without seeing, I am hoping the failure is just the grease shorting out the motor and not something more serious, such as the circuit board.

    • @SimoneScott-h6i
      @SimoneScott-h6i 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@RandomJunkChannel Thank you for replying, yes they are all Lemax - Tinsel Town Plaza, Ludwig's Wooden Nutcracker Factory and The Christmas Chocolatier Truffle Factory. I have a bad feeling it is the circuit board, there is no burnt smell though. I did pull one apart and couldn't see anything obvious. When I turned the power switch wheel on each one they did the same thing - just lit up for a second then died! This all happened in the space of a few minutes for all three of them. Also, I don't think the flash was brighter than the normal operation though. What is involved if it is the circuit board - are they dead for good :(. All I want is for the lights to work, I don't really care about the movement. They were all connected separately with their own adaptors to a 4 way plug with a surge protector.

    That just stoped working. No power. I tried other power supplies. But nothing. Can you help with this thanks

    • @RandomJunkChannel
      @RandomJunkChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      First thing I would check would be your off on switch, most of them just pop open with a little pressure along the seam. Normally there are five wires inside and it's common for one of the wires to break free. After that you would probably have to open the unit and it would either be the wires attached to the back of the power port or the motor has shorted out. I can assist you if you are unsure about tackling the repair.

    Hi, do you know where to get a main board? My tinkertown factory dont sound and smell burn

    • @RandomJunkChannel
      @RandomJunkChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do not. Most of the boards I find are from damaged pieces but the boards are still intact. I find them occasionally at Michaels in their clearance or Goodwill's and thrift stores. Have you tried opening it to see what may be burnt on the board? Sometimes it's a component that you can desolder and resolder a new one back on.
