@@elizadoolittle9657 I had experienced once. There's a close friend of mine. She's sometimes annoying and sometimes teasing. However on her last days she's somewhat apologetic. I have brushed it away only to realize it was too late. I don't know maybe sometimes people unconsciously knows their time at the end and suddenly changed so that people close to them just to be eased with them.

Or the tree scene when cloud has a flashback to where he met her the first time and then hugs her as they both fall down? THe sleeping forest scene, The final date scene, the scenes of Cloud hugging because he cant let go of her and the ending of rebirth with NPTK playing again after they say goodbye.

The theme song is all about them, how they met and more. It can even connect to Hollow. On the final date, the theme song plays in the background, and they even have a full circle moment of Aerith getting a yellow flower brooch as a first gift from Cloud, which mirrors him getting a yellow flower from her as a gift on their first meeting. Marlene tells Zack that Aerith has feelings for Cloud when he asks her. And she pretty much confesses to Cloud in the church, as there would be no reason to bring it up otherwise. If she didn’t like him romantically she could of said nothing and went straight to giving him the materia. Then the ending scene with the sweet callback to the first game with the “You gonna be ok getting back?” “And if I said I wasn’t?” exchange from the first game.
It’s so clear they have the deepest love. Their romance is so sweet and innocent, almost playful. I think it’s the best pairing, they just complement each other so well.
Promises to Keep is about how Aerith knows she's going to die and is sad because she will miss everyone. It's a goodbye letter to her friends that she wishes she could stay with but can't. It's not a love song about her and Cloud.

The flower she gave cloud in remake symbolizes reunion, it’s sort of hinting at the idea of fate and how sometimes you meet and fall in love with someone by destiny. In the original game, Cait Sith reads a fortune telling message that says they are perfect for each other and the stars align for them. The song plays off that metaphor of fate vs. chance. It’s about a love that cannot be, because Aerith has many burdens being an Ancient, so in a way she makes a sacrifice due to her duty of protecting the planet, but the price is losing the opportunity to be with Cloud and “being in love” so to speak. But what’s interesting is even after her passing, Aerith and Cloud continue to meet. Another sign that this connection is strong even after death. This is no different in the remake series. And the play “Loveless” shares many similar themes with the actual story. So in a way you can refer to them as star-crossed lovers. The song actually gives off tragic vibes, and that’s also what happens to Aerith, she had so much to live for but because she was selfless, she gave her life to protect her friends and her lover. That’s why she tells Cloud in the ending, that she wants to save the world and also “him”, to free him from his suffering. Because she cares about him, not just as a friend but someone who has feelings for him. I’m actually surprised how a lot of people seem to think she didn’t have any feelings. She’s a woman for crying out loud, and she spent a vast majority of her time around Cloud. It’s so obvious she liked him.
The game already references which girl Cloud cherishes the most. The first time you arrive in the Golden Saucer and make your way to the haunted hotel, Cait Sith gives Cloud a fortune card when Cloud asks if Cait Sith has any info on Sephiroth. The fortune card says that Cloud will find who he seeks (Sephiroth), but at the price of losing the person that Cloud cherishes most. This is a full reference to the end of Rebirth where Aerith is murdered by Sephiroth in front of Cloud. The developers provide so many clues as to who the main couple in this game should be. The various alternate dates all make for so-called player choice, but it is undeniable that Cloud and Aerith are the cannon couple and their Golden Saucer date is the cannon date in this game.
The game is designed so that players can choose who Cloud goes on a date with. However, the critical parts of the story that occur regardless of player choice all point towards Cloud and Aerith's powerful connection. Everything from the theme song, which Aerith writes in the hotel lobby at the Gold Saucer, the final date scene, the death scene, and dialogue that occurs from various NPCs all point towards Cloud and Aerith being the cannon couple. There is a reason why Sephiroth murders Aerith. It isn't to stop Holy, he can already suppress it from within the Lifestream. He murders her to torment Cloud. His goal is to break him mentally, physically, and emotionally by murdering who he cherishes the most. There are several instances where the game puts Tifa in danger, like her being pushed by Cloud into the mako pool and her being swallowed by a weapon, but non of those events cause Cloud react as he does when Aerith dies. The game is hyper focused on Aerith and Cloud's relationship - the entire ending is basically Cloud watching Aerith's spiritual form walking around or Cloud speaking to her spirit. Tifa doesn't have one line at the end of the game. You would think someone that is suppose to be Cloud's partner and love interest should have a bigger part to play in the final moments of the game, but the writers don't give Tifa any of those moments. Yea, she gets a kissing scene, which is cool, but it doesn't really make any difference or play a critical part in the story. Maybe SE will write Tifa more into the story in part 3, but parts 1 and 2 have been the Cloud and Aerith show so far with Tifa playing mostly a supporting role.
@@neoexodeath I know, the theme song lyrics definitely indicate that it’s from Aerith to Cloud, as it can’t be anyone else since it details their first meeting and so on. Marlene also tells Zack that Aerith has feelings for Cloud. The song itself seems proof enough that she has feelings for him, even without everything else. He wasn’t himself during the mako pool scene, and he does react to what he did to her pretty strongly once he snaps out of it. It’s also after that scene they have a deep chat and almost kiss. Then Aerith says something but it’s muted, and I can’t lip read. The ending was a bit strange to me, and not sure if he still thinks she’s alive or what. Not to mention the sky and multiple worlds thing. I thought part 1 was pretty equal in terms of content for the two women. And Tifa does get a lot of moments when he starts going off the rails. But Aerith is very important to story overall so it makes sense why she gets more attention, at least in part 2. Part 3 will I’m sure have some big moments for Tifa.

It's honestly surprising that Clerith is not as popular as Cloti, given the large amount of vocal Cleriths. Cloud and Aerith clearly have great romantic chemistry together. Opposites attract. Cloud and Tifa are nice, but they clearly both have psychological issues that need to be dealt before they can get into a romantic relationship.
Yeah, if you watched AC then you can notice tifa and cloud did have a chance to form a loving relationship, but that didn't happen because cloud was dealing with his traumas and his depression during that time, he did love aerith more.

The moment the truth was revealed that Cloud and Tifa were never "childhood friends", I no longer supported them as a romantic couple. Especially after seeing how Tifa had friends as a little girl, but Cloud was not one of them at all. She never even invited Cloud into her group which was the worst part of all. I always have been pro-Clerith at the very beginning and liked the Cloti ship until I saw the Lifestream sequence in full detail. If Tifa really was his "childhood friend", she wouldn't have stood there while the entire village blamed Cloud for her seven-day coma. NO FRIEND would ever do that. That's definitive proof that Cloud and Tifa were never friends as children. They were just neighbors at best. Their relationship is more akin to siblings than childhood sweethearts. I don't hate Tifa at all, but I still have a hard time forgiving her for how she treated Cloud to this very day. The main reason I don't want Cloud and Tifa together as a romantic couple is NOT because I hate either of them, but rather it's because I LOVE both of them and believe they both deserve the most compatible partners. Cloud and Tifa's relationship is rather parasitic than mutual. Tifa keeps asking for more than what Cloud can give and Cloud keeps trying to meet her expectations but falls short of her quota. That's not a healthy relationship at all. They both already have traumatic experiences and trying to make their relationship work is just going to put more psychological strain on both of them.

She didn't believe it but she also had no memory of the incident to know if it were true or not. They're just incompatible imo, Aerith and Cloud have an unspoken connection that Tifa and him just don't have. Maybe it's the shared grief of losing Zack or being alienated because they're different, regardless i think Aerith sees through Cloud's persona without him even having to explain it. As for Tifa she's consistently struggling to understand what's going on in Cloud's mind, begging him to explain it to her so he can seek comfort. Which he does but there's something inherently less intimate about that. I always question if whether or not Cloud's feelings for Tifa are real or if they're illusions due to the fact he can barely remember his own childhood and only remember his crush on her. She was the one who insisted on marching into the mountains to see her deceased mother, it doesn't take much thought to discern that SHE was the one responsible for her own predicament. As for Tifa yelling at Cloud, I get she is trying this "tough love" approach in order to get him out of his self-doubt. But she needs to remember that Cloud is emotionally and mentally fragile. She's making him feel even more insecure with all the scolding and the accusing. She's basically treating him similarly to how the other villagers of Nibelheim(except his mother) treated him as a young boy.

What I don't understand though is her expectations of him even after the death of so many friends, he's a deserter who struggling to process his traumas whilst suffering with amnesia (and sephiroth's mind control). I understand that sometimes Cloud can be insensitive and blunt but she lets her feelings get in the way of acknowledging his deteriorating mental state. He is obviously not mentally present/stable when he's questioning whether or not she's "real", she's so caught up in the idea that he doesn't trust her that she fails to see the bigger issue at hand. That he's struggling to grasp reality. Her approaches to him feel less like "tough love" but rather self centered kindness(???), it's less about actually being kind but rather doing so to satisfy/sooth ones ego. I mean she said it herself in Nibelheim, she feels like she always needs people to like her which i think is a major flaw of hers that sabotages a deeper connection with Cloud. She's aware of this flaw and hates it but does she actively work against it? I don't think she does which is why they'll never fully work out. I wonder where how their "relationship" will pan out in part 3 now that Aerith isn't physically there but Cloud can see her
The scenes with Aerith are always so sad. I get this strange sense from her. That she is an ancient creature who just wants to be a normal girl. Burdened with a cruel destiny. You see her true form once the ribbon is drawn, the martyr.
I won't lie, they made it much harder in this part for me to choose between Aerith and Tifa. I feel like both girls had good chemistry with Cloud. In part 1, I feel Aerith was the one who had the best chemistry and that Tifa felt more one-sided.
It kindda bothers me how they changed cloud's personalty in the second game, just to favor tifa a little bit more, when in the first game he was so unniterested towards her...

Now is no longer 1997 the value, the mindset and global environment totally different. people need more positive and faith for good. Multi ending in part 3 would be more appreciated than just let the player day dreaming in the DLC.
Exactly. They should make multiple endings. There could be an ending that would end just like the OG ff7 for "purists" and happy endings where Cloud and Aerith/Tifa (depending on the players choice) get into a romantic relationship. That way everyone could be happy + the arguments over which one is canon would keep the game alive pretty much forever.
I'm not looking forward to them shoving the Cloud and Tifa relationship down our throats in the third game. I know some (maybe most) of the male audience are looking forward to it, but I'd just don't get the appeal now.
Aerith's death has been devastating in 1997, lol.. but the fans didn't expect it to hit so hard a second time. People want an end to the yearning...some relief that can meaningfully conclude their unrealistic expectations...which, let's face it, were put there on purpose.
I love how the CA gondola date gets 2 references/callbacks in the main story! And the fact that it’s in the ending credits, Square really went out of their way to be like, you can get the other dates and have fun, but this one is the one that matters. Cloud x Aerith are perfect together, such an iconic romance 🥰
It was the same way with the special scenes in Ch. 15 of Remake. Square Enix will provide a bunch of optional scenes to make the fan base happy with whoever they ship, but always put clues in the game, like at post game credits, of what scene is cannon for the actual storyline. They did this with Kingdom Hearts too where they added special scenes and character interactions during the credit roll.
Cloud always softened and being himself when around aerith. He always lost his cool around her. Seeing their relationship much more pure than with tifa which more like standard relationships kissing etc. But with aerith, cloud emotion is touched in different kind of level. Love this pair so much
Cloud x Aerith is canon: Aerith plays Rosa in 4 of the 6 dates & is Rosa in the credits & makes the most sense narratively & Aerith’s date has been default & canon since 1997
@@yakistolfo There’s still the other Aerith too! We saw Sephiroth enter the Church but it was left ambiguous what happened. Also she’s the Aerith with the pin. She has a distinction now in her character model, I feel they’re going to do something with that.
In my playthrough, they did something that imo meant almost as much as a kiss, if not more. Around the part at 17:48 in this video, in my playthrough, cloud actually grabbed aerith's hand and they held hands, interlocked fingers and everything

I don't get the hype behind Tifa. Sure she is beautiful and she is a badass fighter but her whole personality is that she is nice.+ She is a total freebie, Cloud would only need to snap his fingers and she would start jumping until he says to stop. That's just boring. She feels like an NPC compared to Aerith.

i suspect it is a narritive choice, imagine this, if aerith knows she is to die at sephiroth's hands, would you still persue a relationship, knowing full well that the death of a romantic partner messes a person up even more than the death of a close friend, albeit only slightly less?, that is atleast my headcannon, that they chose to write aerith so she has feelings for cloud and wants to persue him romantically, but she has to sacrifice her feelings in order to save cloud, atleast to me that is the only logical reason for it, but it could also be cuz of dumb/lazy writing/animating on SE's side

This remake has stayed fairly faithful to the og 97 one but the Tifa romance has gotten very deep already and it wasn't supposed to be this early because they become lovers way later in the story Zack is back so maybe they thought there's no more need to keep the love triangle going that hard anymore but then again since Aerith is dead in the main universe there could be a way she makes it in the Zack timeline and get things going that way. Clerith tbh is pretty much nonexistent again but Zack though is an outlier.

It does make sense if you believe that CA and CT are both canon. I think it’s established throughout the many media and interviews that Cloud has feelings for both women, and they for him. The new novel confirms Tifa’s love for Cloud, OTWTAS confirms Aerith’s. There’s more that confirm it too in dev interviews and Ultimanias etc.
Well it's a japanese game/drama, most romantic japanese couples in real life and media don't show that much affection in public and they decide to only show it when they're alone in private or behind closed doors.
I love all Cloud ships couple but for me. I would choose Aerith. She's so cute. And honestly this is my headcanon. But i also like CloudxTifa/Yuffie (as long as Tifa is not cheating on Barret or cloud wait for Yuffie to be an adult)
If you were playing the OG, you will have to make a hard decision when you want to date Tifa. I mean in the OG, Aerith would start out with the highest point with this affinity system by default of course which means if you are nice to everybody, Aerith will date you. So if you are in love with Aerith and suppose you were to play the OG, the most difficult part for you may also have to include being mean to Aerith which may include calling Aerith a slum drunk, or choosing not to be jealous of Aerith's past relationship with Zack. In the OG, they give you dialogue options to choose from and you won't get an early notice unlike the Rebirth version. In Rebirth version, at least the game will tell you that your relationship status has changed. In the OG, you have to keep track on how mean you are to Aerith just mean enough for her affinity points to be lower than Tifa.
Ngl I had to spoil myself on the saucer date since I seen the tifa one. And man I figured they were going to go this route. The Zack timeline now allows for aerith to be with her puppy first love knight in shining armour zack in his timeline. While cloud gets to be with tifa in the current timeline. Imo if aerith wasn’t meant to die, I’m sure her and cloud would be together but I knew square didn’t have the balls to not kill her.
I really hope they will let the player determine who cloud ends up with (I’m certain that aerith is going to return somehow). It seems like the only fair way to sort out the love triangle conundrum. That way both cloti shippers and clerith shippers will be happy. Though I think you can probably guess which side of the fence I’m on being that I’m watching this video😂
Hate to say it but the original hits the feels so much harder. Briefer, the music, and something about a little more being left to the imagination… made it better in my opinion.
Why is Aerith kinda gas lighting Cloud and hurting Tifa intentionally? She gives him a flower as a flower girl and scolds him for gifting it? She tells you that Cloud has to value the friendship with Tifa more, sees that Tifa is in love with Cloud and tells her in her face "we were on a date😁" just to see her hurting face? Making her even more insecure? She doesn't need that, it makes me unlike her :(
There are two variations an intimate and a standard depending on affinity. I had pretty much everyone maxed out in the party by CH.12 and got Aerith for the date, I think both T/A start with a higher default affinity towards Cloud so one of those two are much more likely to get the date scene than Barret/Yuffie/Red/others but you still have to do a lot of SQ to get the intimate variation.

The only thing sad about this is people in denial. Thats really sad. Aerith literally confesses to Cloud in the game with every word "Right now I want to be with you." as they interlace their hands. And then she sings the Theme song of the game that its all about Cloud and Aerith and the night they met while they look completely in love at eachother. Marlene confirms this to zack himself. Aerith has feelings for Cloud now and he understands.
I romanced tifa in rebirth 😄 and this was what i would call a date. She is super cool in the remake. But i also love aerith for her deep kindness. Shes a really pure soul. Love the FF7 cast since playing the original one back in 1997. It had a massive impact on me.
Fortunately, this kind of game only allows you to date 1 character only. If you date any other character, it will be a sexless date. Cloud will only kiss Tifa. This is the kind of game where only a player have a power to choose who they want to date but Cloud have a power to choose who he wants to kiss. Just like when playing Final Fantasy X, players can choose who they want to date and flirt with but only Tidus chooses who he wants to kiss and that will be Yuna. Example is Tidus can choose to flirt and date Rikku and he also have options to flirt and date Lulu but they won't share a kiss with Tidus.
Canonically it’s Aerith. Although fans can choose Tifa. These days it’s up to player interpretation. But yeah, there is a reason why in the original timeline Cloud didn’t get with Tifa after FF7, he was mourning Aerith who is his (as of the original timeline) canonical love interest. But yeah, it’s really up to you in your actual playthroughs though.
@@KamusariHR Creators has stated a few times, also lots of the moments that Cloud shares with Aerith happen by default if you don’t really pay much mind to the whole love triangle thing in the original game, suggesting her being canon over Tifa. Also Advent Children is canon, and notice how Cloud distanced himself from everyone, including Tifa, and lived alone at Aerith’s church as he basically mourned Aerith all that time following the events of FF7.
The sad thing is Aerith interactions with Cloud is like someone who yearn for affection yet still barricade herself enough so that their relationship doesn't gone to far. As if she knows that she wouldn't be with him later on. 😢

The flower she gave cloud in remake symbolizes reunion, it’s sort of hinting at the idea of fate and how sometimes you meet and fall in love with someone by destiny. In the original game, Cait Sith reads a fortune telling message that says they are perfect for each other and the stars align for them. The song plays off that metaphor of fate vs. chance. It’s about a love that cannot be, because Aerith has many burdens being an Ancient, so in a way she makes a sacrifice due to her duty of protecting the planet, but the price is losing the opportunity to be with Cloud and “being in love” so to speak. But what’s interesting is even after her passing, Aerith and Cloud continue to meet. Another sign that this connection is strong even after death. This is no different in the remake series. And the play “Loveless” shares many similar themes with the actual story. So in a way you can refer to them as star-crossed lovers. The song actually gives off tragic vibes, and that’s also what happens to Aerith, she had so much to live for but because she was selfless, she gave her life to protect her friends and her lover. That’s why she tells Cloud in the ending, that she wants to save the world and also “him”, to free him from his suffering. Because she cares about him, not just as a friend but someone who has feelings for him. I’m actually surprised how a lot of people seem to think she didn’t have any feelings. She’s a woman for crying out loud, and she spent a vast majority of her time around Cloud. It’s so obvious she liked him.

The game already references which girl Cloud cherishes the most. The first time you arrive in the Golden Saucer and make your way to the haunted hotel, Cait Sith gives Cloud a fortune card when Cloud asks if Cait Sith has any info on Sephiroth. The fortune card says that Cloud will find who he seeks (Sephiroth), but at the price of losing the person that Cloud cherishes most. This is a full reference to the end of Rebirth where Aerith is murdered by Sephiroth in front of Cloud.
The developers provide so many clues as to who the main couple in this game should be. The various alternate dates all make for so-called player choice, but it is undeniable that Cloud and Aerith are the cannon couple and their Golden Saucer date is the cannon date in this game.

The game is designed so that players can choose who Cloud goes on a date with. However, the critical parts of the story that occur regardless of player choice all point towards Cloud and Aerith's powerful connection. Everything from the theme song, which Aerith writes in the hotel lobby at the Gold Saucer, the final date scene, the death scene, and dialogue that occurs from various NPCs all point towards Cloud and Aerith being the cannon couple. There is a reason why Sephiroth murders Aerith. It isn't to stop Holy, he can already suppress it from within the Lifestream. He murders her to torment Cloud. His goal is to break him mentally, physically, and emotionally by murdering who he cherishes the most. There are several instances where the game puts Tifa in danger, like her being pushed by Cloud into the mako pool and her being swallowed by a weapon, but non of those events cause Cloud react as he does when Aerith dies. The game is hyper focused on Aerith and Cloud's relationship - the entire ending is basically Cloud watching Aerith's spiritual form walking around or Cloud speaking to her spirit. Tifa doesn't have one line at the end of the game. You would think someone that is suppose to be Cloud's partner and love interest should have a bigger part to play in the final moments of the game, but the writers don't give Tifa any of those moments. Yea, she gets a kissing scene, which is cool, but it doesn't really make any difference or play a critical part in the story. Maybe SE will write Tifa more into the story in part 3, but parts 1 and 2 have been the Cloud and Aerith show so far with Tifa playing mostly a supporting role.

Marlene also tells Zack that Aerith has feelings for Cloud. The song itself seems proof enough that she has feelings for him, even without everything else.
He wasn’t himself during the mako pool scene, and he does react to what he did to her pretty strongly once he snaps out of it. It’s also after that scene they have a deep chat and almost kiss. Then Aerith says something but it’s muted, and I can’t lip read.
The ending was a bit strange to me, and not sure if he still thinks she’s alive or what. Not to mention the sky and multiple worlds thing.
I thought part 1 was pretty equal in terms of content for the two women. And Tifa does get a lot of moments when he starts going off the rails. But Aerith is very important to story overall so it makes sense why she gets more attention, at least in part 2. Part 3 will I’m sure have some big moments for Tifa.

It's honestly surprising that Clerith is not as popular as Cloti, given the large amount of vocal Cleriths. Cloud and Aerith clearly have great romantic chemistry together. Opposites attract. Cloud and Tifa are nice, but they clearly both have psychological issues that need to be dealt before they can get into a romantic relationship.
Yeah, if you watched AC then you can notice tifa and cloud did have a chance to form a loving relationship, but that didn't happen because cloud was dealing with his traumas and his depression during that time, he did love aerith more.

The moment the truth was revealed that Cloud and Tifa were never "childhood friends", I no longer supported them as a romantic couple. Especially after seeing how Tifa had friends as a little girl, but Cloud was not one of them at all. She never even invited Cloud into her group which was the worst part of all. I always have been pro-Clerith at the very beginning and liked the Cloti ship until I saw the Lifestream sequence in full detail. If Tifa really was his "childhood friend", she wouldn't have stood there while the entire village blamed Cloud for her seven-day coma. NO FRIEND would ever do that. That's definitive proof that Cloud and Tifa were never friends as children. They were just neighbors at best. Their relationship is more akin to siblings than childhood sweethearts. I don't hate Tifa at all, but I still have a hard time forgiving her for how she treated Cloud to this very day. The main reason I don't want Cloud and Tifa together as a romantic couple is NOT because I hate either of them, but rather it's because I LOVE both of them and believe they both deserve the most compatible partners. Cloud and Tifa's relationship is rather parasitic than mutual. Tifa keeps asking for more than what Cloud can give and Cloud keeps trying to meet her expectations but falls short of her quota. That's not a healthy relationship at all. They both already have traumatic experiences and trying to make their relationship work is just going to put more psychological strain on both of them.

Maybe it's the shared grief of losing Zack or being alienated because they're different, regardless i think Aerith sees through Cloud's persona without him even having to explain it. As for Tifa she's consistently struggling to understand what's going on in Cloud's mind, begging him to explain it to her so he can seek comfort. Which he does but there's something inherently less intimate about that. I always question if whether or not Cloud's feelings for Tifa are real or if they're illusions due to the fact he can barely remember his own childhood and only remember his crush on her. As for Tifa yelling at Cloud, I get she is trying this "tough love" approach in order to get him out of his self-doubt. But she needs to remember that Cloud is emotionally and mentally fragile. He is obviously not mentally present/stable when he's questioning whether or not she's "real", she's so caught up in the idea that he doesn't trust her that she fails to see the bigger issue at hand. That he's struggling to grasp reality. Her approaches to him feel less like "tough love" but rather self centered kindness(???), it's less about actually being kind but rather doing so to satisfy/sooth ones ego. I mean she said it herself in Nibelheim, she feels like she always needs people to like her which i think is a major flaw of hers that sabotages a deeper connection with Cloud. She's aware of this flaw and hates it but does she actively work against it? I don't think she does which is why they'll never fully work out. I wonder where how their "relationship" will pan out in part 3 now that Aerith isn't physically there but Cloud can see her

I won't lie, they made it much harder in this part for me to choose between Aerith and Tifa. I feel like both girls had good chemistry with Cloud. In part 1, I feel Aerith was the one who had the best chemistry and that Tifa felt more one-sided.

Exactly. They should make multiple endings. There could be an ending that would end just like the OG ff7 for "purists" and happy endings where Cloud and Aerith/Tifa (depending on the players choice) get into a romantic relationship. That way everyone could be happy + the arguments over which one is canon would keep the game alive pretty much forever.

It was the same way with the special scenes in Ch. 15 of Remake. Square Enix will provide a bunch of optional scenes to make the fan base happy with whoever they ship, but always put clues in the game, like at post game credits, of what scene is cannon for the actual storyline. They did this with Kingdom Hearts too where they added special scenes and character interactions during the credit roll.

This remake has stayed fairly faithful to the og 97 one but the Tifa romance has gotten very deep already and it wasn't supposed to be this early because they become lovers way later in the story Zack is back so maybe they thought there's no more need to keep the love triangle going that hard anymore but then again since Aerith is dead in the main universe there could be a way she makes it in the Zack timeline and get things going that way. Clerith tbh is pretty much nonexistent again but Zack though is an outlier.

And sure CA could of kissed, but their relationship is complicated. Yet what they do have, especially in the later half of the game like you mentioned, is meaningful.
It does make sense if you believe that CA and CT are both canon. I think it’s established throughout the many media and interviews that Cloud has feelings for both women, and they for him. The new novel confirms Tifa’s love for Cloud, OTWTAS confirms Aerith’s. There’s more that confirm it too in dev interviews and Ultimanias etc.
Well it's a japanese game/drama, most romantic japanese couples in real life and media don't show that much affection in public and they decide to only show it when they're alone in private or behind closed doors.

I think I'm fall in love with Aerith. She is nice, pretty, yet so cheerful, so adorable! Really love her. But, dunno, I still shipped Cloud with Tifa.
If you were playing the OG, you will have to make a hard decision when you want to date Tifa. I mean in the OG, Aerith would start out with the highest point with this affinity system by default of course which means if you are nice to everybody, Aerith will date you. So if you are in love with Aerith and suppose you were to play the OG, the most difficult part for you may also have to include being mean to Aerith which may include calling Aerith a slum drunk, or choosing not to be jealous of Aerith's past relationship with Zack. In the OG, they give you dialogue options to choose from and you won't get an early notice unlike the Rebirth version. In Rebirth version, at least the game will tell you that your relationship status has changed. In the OG, you have to keep track on how mean you are to Aerith just mean enough for her affinity points to be lower than Tifa.

Ngl I had to spoil myself on the saucer date since I seen the tifa one. And man I figured they were going to go this route. The Zack timeline now allows for aerith to be with her puppy first love knight in shining armour zack in his timeline. While cloud gets to be with tifa in the current timeline. Imo if aerith wasn’t meant to die, I’m sure her and cloud would be together but I knew square didn’t have the balls to not kill her.

I really hope they will let the player determine who cloud ends up with (I’m certain that aerith is going to return somehow). It seems like the only fair way to sort out the love triangle conundrum. There are two variations an intimate and a standard depending on affinity. I had pretty much everyone maxed out in the party by CH.12 and got Aerith for the date, I think both T/A start with a higher default affinity towards Cloud so one of those two are much more likely to get the date scene than Barret/Yuffie/Red/others but you still have to do a lot of SQ to get the intimate variation.

The only thing sad about this is people in denial. Thats really sad. Aerith literally confesses to Cloud in the game with every word "Right now I want to be with you." as they interlace their hands. And then she sings the Theme song of the game that its all about Cloud and Aerith and the night they met while they look completely in love at eachother. Marlene confirms this to zack himself. Aerith has feelings for Cloud now and he understands.

I romanced tifa in rebirth 😄 and this was what i would call a date. She is super cool in the remake. But i also love aerith for her deep kindness. Shes a really pure soul. Love the FF7 cast since playing the original one back in 1997. It had a massive impact on me.

Fortunately, this kind of game only allows you to date 1 character only. If you date any other character, it will be a sexless date. Cloud will only kiss Tifa. This is the kind of game where only a player have a power to choose who they want to date but Cloud have a power to choose who he wants to kiss.
Just like when playing Final Fantasy X, players can choose who they want to date and flirt with but only Tidus chooses who he wants to kiss and that will be Yuna. Example is Tidus can choose to flirt and date Rikku and he also have options to flirt and date Lulu but they won't share a kiss with Tidus.

Canonically it’s Aerith. Although fans can choose Tifa. These days it’s up to player interpretation. But yeah, there is a reason why in the original timeline Cloud didn’t get with Tifa after FF7, he was mourning Aerith who is his (as of the original timeline) canonical love interest. But yeah, it’s really up to you in your actual playthroughs though.

@@KamusariHR Creators has stated a few times, also lots of the moments that Cloud shares with Aerith happen by default if you don’t really pay much mind to the whole love triangle thing in the original game, suggesting her being canon over Tifa. Also Advent Children is canon, and notice how Cloud distanced himself from everyone, including Tifa, and lived alone at Aerith’s church as he basically mourned Aerith all that time following the events of FF7.
