@@kosmickosm771 The Shadow Lands are a part of the Lands Between, you just can't see it.
The zeroth dynasty was the age of Dragons. They had contact with the outer god of primordial raw power. They ruled for a time.
Many peoples had kingdoms all over the Lands Between, never all unified, never all conquered. The Storm King, Raya Lucaria, Calid, Mountain top of the giants. The Shadow Lands were and are a part of the Lands Between. Merica vailed the Shadow Lands, separating it form the LB, no longer seen. This happened when she caused the third impact at the gate of divinity (see more info bellow). With that action she hid thousands of years of ancient history, almost completely lost.
The first people to rise to power in the lands between were the dynasty of spirals, they created the spiral city (Enir Ilim). They worshipped the crucible which rose up as a Great spiraled tree. The spiraled people made the gate of divinity and caused the first impact, someone ascended to godhood by contacting an outer god, likely the god of spirals. They ruled for a time.
Then the Knox people took over. They used the gate of divinity to cause the second impact. They contacted the outer god of Knox, this god had gravity defying power, someone ascended to godhood. The Knox added gravity defying architecture to the spiral city after taking it from the spiral dynasty. They kept the Great Sprial tree. The Knox dynasty (2nd) spread across the Lands Between establishing the cities of Knoxstella, Knoxron, and the Namless city.
The horn sent were guided by the outer god of the crucible which now gave beast powers like horns and wings. The horn sent took over the spiraled city from the Knox. They took over the Sprialed Great tree. They started to get the gate of divinity ready to welcome the outer god of the crucible and (disordered) beast powers.
But Merica, a slave, betrayed their hopes. As a slave Merica never had loyalty to the horn sent so this betrayal was one sided, for her it was just revenge. Merica destroyed the horn sent's plans and did the exact opposite. She welcomed the outer god of order (the Greater Will) as opposed to the disordered horny crucible outer god.
Merica took over, she sacrificed the hornsent at the gate of divinity, she caused the third impact by contacting the outer god of the Greater Will of Golden Order, and ascended to godhood. She did not conquer the spiraled city from the horn sent, no she wanted to destroy all previous history, all previous dynasties erased, she was going to start over, new and fresh, with the Greater Will. She would restructure the Lands Between and fully conquer it in the third Dyansty.
Then Merica with the Greater Will, cut the roots of the great spiral crucible tree, stole the roots and grafted them onto the new Erdtree, stole the crucible current power of this world, feeding the Erdtree and gaining ultimate power over the Lands Between, the Scaduetree (aka sprial tree) has been dieing eversince. She also destroyed destined death which was a designed part of the old crucible sprial great tree.
In her conquest she vailed the ancient lands now called the shadow lands. True destined death still exists in the Shadow Lands. She established the Third Dyansty. She banished the Knox into the ground similar to the Shadow Lands. Merica's Golden order ruled for a time, until we, the tarnished are called to determine the fourth dynasty. We can also help Miquella start the fourth impact to welcome in his godhood and the dyansty (4th) of compassion.
These notes are rough, some things are wrong, but this is the big picture (ancient history) I see.

My only real grievances are that there aren't recommended weapons levels for somber weapons, and I would personally fight Morgott earlier in order to not completely steamroll him. These are really minor grievances, so overall, this is extremely well done.

Malketh is also probably steamrolled for similar reasons; if you go into the higher level area that is Mohg's palace (it's second only the haligtree). Also dragonbarrow is still such a weird place. It's above Farum Azula in terms of enemy levels yet it holds half of the access to Altus. The idea you do it even before getting Morgott is expected but complete wack on balance.

For the base game, if you talk to Rya in Liurnia and then climb up the Ruin-Strewn Precipice to reach Altus Plateau without ever getting the Dectus Medallion or necessarily even visiting either Raya Lucaria Academy or Caelid at all, and then talk to her again to get teleported directly to Volcano Manor.
Given that both Blackguard & Tragoth can be summoned to assist you in the Magma Wyrm boss fight to pass the Ruin-Strewn Precipice, and Lansseax guarding the path up to Altus Plateau will teleport away when you deal only about ⅓ of her HP in damage, its surprisingly accommodating for a very different route at a lower level.
For the DLC, It's worth going everywhere possible BEFORE either approaching Shadow Keep in Scadu Altus OR passing the Grace beyond Bonny Village to approach the region with the Cathedral, as that will trigger a world-level change (Miquella's Rune breaking). You can get to the Cerulean Coast, Charo's Hidden Grave, Rauh Base, & Jagged Peak before that happens.
Additionally, Cerulean Coast & Rauh Base have the critical map segments that will prevent you from being totally lost when youre at Rauh Ruins or Jagged Peak / Charo's Hidden Grave, as it contains those regions respectively. (Speaking as someone who wandered and completed those whole regions utterly blind, it's something I'm enjoying WAY more in NG+ having the full map already).

A wonderful visual representation of the map and the suggested path! The only suggestions I could mention are...
1: Perhaps highlighting the named places on the map, although I am torn on this as it still permits the exploration "Into the unknown" in those places.
2: Mention of small "alternative" routes more directly, like going around Stormveil Castle to get to Liurnia without defeating Godrick or the Cave in Liurnia to ascend to Altus without the Dectus Medallion. Keeping it broad, just to give hints that there's another way, if you seek it. Normally I'd be against such "spoilers", but the info has been doing the rounds enough to make note regardless.

    Things to note:
The Left Dectus Medallion is found in Fort Haight in Limgrave.
The key to access Raya Lucaria is guarded by a sleeping dragon on the lake just west of the Academy. Since it's sleeping you can run behind it with Torrent and take the key as it's waking up to avoid having to fight it.
The Right Dectus Medallion is found in Fort Faroth in Cealid.
You can access the Atlas Plateau without collecting the Dectus Medallion by going through the cave that's entrance is found beneath the grand elevator, found by following Liurnia lake to its northern most point. The cave entrance can be seen as a red circle on the map.

The first thing you have to do is to use teleporter chest in the ruins Northeast from the starting location to go to Caelid, lvl. 1-10
Activate Sellia braziers, grab Night Comet & Meteorite staff and get access to Dragonbarrow area
Liurnia is a great starting location too using path alongside the Stormveil and, actually, Renalla is better first shardbearer boss then Godrick
While in the Dragonbarrow, grab beast repellent torch, Radagon Sorseal and half of the Dectus medallion. With other half you can start exploring Altus Plato & Mt. Gelmir early, just make sure to get to Ranni before you go to the Altus if you're planning to do her questline
lvl.30-40 is generally enough for Altus, Mt.Gelmir etc.

Only thing i feel is that Storm hill should come after Weeping in terms of progression. Cool vid.
A weird thing in the DLC is that in the grace menu the celurian coast and hidden grave as well as the jagged peak are all part of the graveste plane. And in my blind playthrough i follow that and so i cleared out literally everything down south and got to Bayle (although i dont think i killed him at the time) before i even killed Rellana.

I don't know how I did it. But my first play through I missed the entire southern half of the map until after I killed Messmer. I missed Midra, Bayle, Metyr and all the other boss fights around them. Had to go back and spend hours trying to find my why through all the hidden paths. I honestly still haven't found a lot of the stuff I've seen on YT and feel like this whole DLC is one big maze filled with hidden paths disguised by riddles to confuse you.

As Elden Ring was my first souls gave, I can say I messed up order so much. I tried to sprint into hardest arenas, level up quickly and beat the game, instead of admiring the exploration. After 200 hours, when DLC came, I stopped myself from rushing and tried to enjoy every moment. In dlc I did pretty much the same route as explained, still I regret I can’t go back in time and enjoy Elden Ring from the beginning the right way.

  • @ethandoughty6705
    @ethandoughty6705 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

In the DLC area, it might be preferable to explore Cerulean Coast and Charo’s Hidden Grave before approaching the Shadow Keep or the Upper-East Part of Shadow Altus, because moving into those areas “breaks a seal” which progresses some quest lines and cannot be undone.
