First time when he was dropped, it made sense. But last time it was unfair, he scored more runs than most in that series which was a low scoring one anyways against england!
Hey man.. this analysis makes my mind let go off from rooting for a warrior like him... coz those 2 bgts he was the fulcrum of Indian batting, straight to the face of bowler, putting heads down, take those bruises and just bat ❤❤.. but time has come to pass the baton for the younger ones who may or may not do the same but score good runs down under 🤞
Please make a video on VVS laxman , his playing style and his ability to bat with tailenders and win us matches in the 4th innings. A habit which earned him the title"The God of 4th innings". We need someone like that in today's time when chips are down . I mean we had a replacement for Dravid with pujara but we are yet to get a batsman like laxman even today in the lower middle order . True. Laxman is one person who's been irreplaceable. 85-4 and in walks Laxman to stitch a 300+ partnership with Dravid to set up India for a famous victory at Adelaide test in 2003-04 BGT. And countless such innings!
@@irfannaru Also remember that 2010 test match against Australia in India where he batted with Raina as his runner and pragyan ojha at nonstriker's end for 9th wicket 😳. I remember watching that live 😀, we won it by the skin of our teeth. Great times they were 😍🥲🤌

@@asheritty7815 thats just a bs excuse, he consistently performs with the bat and ball and does it under extreme pressure, takes crucial wickets and scores important knocks.
We literally have the exact same archetype of Pujara - Baba Indrajith. Yes, he's untested so far. But the point is, he needs to be put in the reserves and given some play time to unleash his potential. Can truly help overseas.
Actually I think that bringing Pujara and Rahane will do more damage than good for the Test side, Both were great in the both of the BGT series in 2018/19 and 2020/21 and contributed in the victories but they are now nothing but players of the past. Selectors should instead go for players from the domestic circuit who can replace their roles and also the coaches must work on the spin playing ability of the players.
I don't think Pujara is a concern. Even though he is someone who has issues, he should get this series as final series of Australia to play. If this issue was problem then he wouldn't be able to score hundred in county so I think Pujara, Ajinkya and Hanuma Vihari need chance.
It can be Priyam Garg he is young and bats at no 3 for UP in Ranjis and has a commendable domestic record or other option can be Suved Parkar of Mumbai Ranji team
Find me a 20 year old version of Virat then 😂 this is too much 😂 you think he will have as much experience and consistency as Virat 😂 cause the only "young Virat" we have now is gill and we saw what he does 😂@@aireyesgaming8426
The problem is in the current Indian team every player playing attacking cricket which is forcing someone like virat to take up pujara’s role. Virat gets runs only if he plays like how virat normally plays.
Please no! Forget the past,no matter how good his play is,he wasn't reliable when team needed him the most, the WTC final! He id aged, there are already so many youngsters who have the potential like Baba Indrajith , Abhimanyu who could do the same like Pujara
Pujara got limited a batsman as he went on in his career. Since BGT 2020-21, I remember only seeing him playing cuts in lose balls, straight drives and leg glance to fast bowlers. Can't take a risk with this.
I agree. For Sarfaraz Khan, his current performances in the New Zealand test series is poor and needs improving before playing against Australia in the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar trophy. This includes other players such as Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant by focusing on staying at the crease longer and reading each ball carefully with precision and decision-making skills.
Key factor to that was Virat Kohli and how he rated Pujara due to his fitness. I remember in 2018 tour of England, when his average was humongous, KL replaced him at no3 and from then on he became replaceable and dented his confidence.
Consider this, you trail by 300 with 2 wickets down. U play a whole session getting 50 runs and another session 70. Now lost only 1 more wicket, but still almost 200 behind with half your batting gone. Can easily loose from there. So much pressure on batting team in last session they are bound to loose wickets. If some attacking batsman even though in just 2 sessions gets a 100, they have knocked off more than half of the trail with still 7 wickets ramaining and less than 100 to get. The game has changed and confidence is key in batting. Now everyone even the tail will wag. And post a lead or win the match depending on which innings it is. In first case you are still losing or draw at best.
The only problem is, nowadays the thinking is getting runs gets you out of trouble quicker than holding the fort and not getting any runs. This applies from no 4 or 5. The openers batting like Rohit have no excuse of course
totally get where you're coming from. However, this is a by product of batters at 5 & 6 not trusting their defence. If we had Pujara like batters at 3,5 & 6 - it would be a different ball game!
Good analysis and verdict. Until the toss at Bangalore; India were primed to smash NZ 3-0. Now with the series lost and a whitewash looming; we cant go backwards. Just got to trust the selected batters and hope a repeat of the 1977-78 series in Australia is replayed; with India winning the BGT.
The most absurd drop was of rahane he was the lone warrior for india in wtc final 2023 plays good knocks under pressure great player of pace dont know how they think kl is better🤦♂️
it is the cycle of cricket! Saw this towards the end of 2011/12 when Dravid, Laxman, Sachin were all coming to the end of their careers. Same here - India is due for a transition very soon!
Naaaa he's had his chances. Don't be emotional by looking at his performance from 3 years ago 😂 Pick some deserving youngster from Ranji and give him enough chances.
@aireyesgaming8426 rohit is indian teams best batter in (2019-2024)wtc history(runs, avg, centuries) recently his form has dipped but i hope he will get back to his good form, virat is backed on his match winning capacity, capabilities he has which we all know, also our team is already in a transition phase like pujji, rahane are out rohit, kohli, jadeja, Ashwin, shami are at backend of their carrer so u should sideline them slowly so that team does not look weak and new
a lot of batters are ahead of him in the pecking order. He only got a chance because of the number of injuries in the squad in those last couple of tests.
the problem is, Rahane & Puji have always done well in Ranji - that form does not necessarily translate at the highest level because of the sheer difference in quality of bowlers and pitches
