they might try to replace pujara with abhi easwaran, they're not the same type of players one being an opener and one being 1st down. But lets face it we do need a test specialist player and the selectors clearly have moved on from pujara and rahane (which i am not that happy about but i kinda do get the selectors side also). But yeah i think easwaran might also play when rohit is opening but down the order.
if gg wants credit for winning, he should take credit for losing as well. 😂😂 we seen the results of aggressive mindset in test cricket. let test be defensive and slow. we need to develop anchorship in players.
He's simply asking the media not to behave like one inning got the team through the match ffs. He's not telling them, "Give credit to ME". He's asking the media to credit the whole team instead of crediting one person.

rahane wasnt steady on indian pitches. neither pujara had good stats on indian soil. i think if india wants to give rank turners, they should play domestic players instead. also its high time we should think virat's role as well. its been 4-5 years and he is not a match winner in tests anymore, bgt should be the last chance to redeem himself. not asking to drop him but he should be asked to play domestic, he is playing too bad against spin but still not reluctant to work on it in free time. if he thinks family is more important, he should just retire, there are enough players who ll choose country over family and we want those kinds of players.
Before GG was head coach, India's batting was already a big problem than it's bowling. In Rahul tenure, India's batting was going down series by series but was ignored because of their winning series. Now under GG tenure, same batting lineup gets exposed when losing. Earlier, team's batting had great record in spin condition but now they can't even play in same tracks. I think under Rahul coaching, there was option for defence in batter's mind but now they're only trying to score runs, which i mean they're enforcing themselves to score quick runs by playing boundaries and not prefering strike rotation as an option for scoring runs. Batters need to use defence technique both in spin and seam tracks along with their natural shot selection. And now selectors are also not interested in selecting players who can play for long time just to stand in wickets. That's also makes new comers to change their playing style in test which is not good. Aggressive mindset should be in white ball and shouldn't be copied from English batters because in the end they also lost by that techniques.
Agree with you that this was going on for sometime and We need an overhaul of the batting lineup. Also, there was an effort to perform overseas in SENA conditions which are not spin dominant but are more pace and swing dominant, we see batters play pacers better than spinners, and since India was strong at home and these other teams did not have many quality spinners, the Indian batting's struggles against spin was not completely exposed. Also, in spinning tracks where we were at the point of collapsing and loosing, someone like an Ashwin or Jadeja performed and saved us putting the attention on the opposition team's weak performance against spin and sweeping our batter's weak performance under the rug.
The second test match against Bangladesh that took place recently, KL scored a 60 quickly helping India get a score on board for the last day. You can't just forget that and think of others in place of KL for BGT in Aus.
Contrast this... 10 days ago Pak team was getting written off with another 3-0 drubbing against Eng on the cards. India was touted to steamroll NZ and win 3-0. How the tide has turned.... With SA winning in BD; they too are in contention for WTC finals. SL too are gunning for the finals. 12 years & 18 home series; this dream run had to end somewhere.. GG has a lot of thinks to ponder and its going to test his character and resolve as he steers the team through some tough assignments.

Because he played for KKR , Not only in Test In T20 Hardik was going to be sure sort captain of T20 side after Rohit but GG made Surya Captain out of No where Because he played under GG in KKR I think the Hype of the GG era is Unnecessary. I feel KL Rahul should be made to open because that’s the spot he’s scored most of his runs. They should definitely look at Hardik Pandya as an all round option. He’s been in great form and can bowl shorter spells if fitness is a concern.

we were 46 all out on a fast bowling pitch. we were 157 all out on a spin pitch. we only perform on flat pitch. that too against Bangladesh only.😢

This batting line-up lacks the steady (Rahane) and grinding (Pujara) mindset which is much needed against quality side like New Zealand 🇳🇿
