Just curious. What was the point of taking the other scales apart from the lanyard barrel. I didn’t see you use any of those parts again. Couldn’t you have just left them together?
Hey thanks for watching! The point is to show people how to do a scale swap on a Manix. Most aftermarket scales require reusing the liners. My aim is to make the video helpful to folks even if they don’t have liner delete scales and new hardware. If you get these scales, you can definitely just leave the scales and liners together.
@@olbubs ok thanks, I’m aiming to buy the AWT which are liner delete. I’ve never changed scales on a Manix. Hopefully the ball or spring don’t go flying 😂
I just got a standard all black manix 2 the other day and was worried about the blade being off centered, thank God it was absolutely perfect 👍. I've heard so many complaints of slightly off centered Spyderco's on TH-cam that I figured I would get one also 🤷. I was also anticipating a very long break in period for it to drop shut without encouragement, to my surprise it fell shut with a triple bounce back first time 👍. I guess i got lucky or something 🤷👍.
I wanna do a Cru-Wear Manix build with some AWT scales. These scales are so awesome! Exact ones I want. I love the purple. I wanna do a Joker build with green Titanium accents.
Sizzle sauce options are less abundant for the LW models. You can absolutely dye the scales as desired, but they do have some incompatible parts. You might be able to buy a replacement ball cage like I have and a spring and have it work but I’m not certain because the LW has an additional piece outside of the washers that nest into the FRN. I haven’t scoured the internet though for a scale set made for the LW but it exists for the Para 3 so I wouldn’t be surprised if folks are making them or working on them.
@@EDC_DRE hey man, my reply may be going to your spam folder or something. I've replied to both of your last emails. My counter offer is lower than what you proposed! I want to get them sent off to you. Let me know here if you can't find the emails I sent you and we'll figure something else out.
Would you happen to know what size bearings one would order if they wanted to try to put bearings on the Manix instead of washers? Someone told me about a company called Skiffs or something like that but in order to buy some you have to know the exact size ID and OD and how many bearings. Anyone tried this?
Thanks for watching, unfortunately they do not. I think a person with some fab skills or extra parts could make it work, but they are not a direct replacement for the LW.
I actually like the Manix better than the pm2. The tip is a bit stronger and it isnt as much of a pocket hog. I'll have to try this. Though getting scales shipped to Norway after i move there next week could be a problem 🤔
@@CNYKnifeNut great to know, thanks! I did run into a problem with Original Goat for scales for my Hogue Deka. They don't ship international apparently. But hopefully they will soon.
I certainly can't know what any particular person knows or doesn't know. I'm of the opinion that if you are taking apart the Manix at all, a replacement ball cage is worth it, but there's nothing at all wrong with the OG plastic! The liner delete is also fun. Anyway, thanks for watching!
One of the smoothest disassembly and reassembly that i have seen. Thank you sir.
You are most welcome, thank you for watching!
Always a pleasure watching the business with ol bubs.
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed!
The way u explain every step in such a way where there is no dough that people could mess up is great 👍. Thanks, i wanna customize my manix 2 now.
Thanks for watching, I’m glad you enjoyed, the Manix is awesome to swap scales on. Hope you go for it, and enjoy!
I just picked up a set of Metonboss titanium scales and am looking forward to changing them out. This was helpful - thanks!
Awesome! Glad it helped, thanks for watching and have a great time on your build!

Can we put sizzle sauce on the new manix 2 lightweight that comes with screws?

Has the shininess worn off on it at all?
It hasn’t yet, but I have a pretty large rotation of knives I carry.

Do you still have the green scales you took off? Would u sell them?
