Thank you. What I enjoy about Vega-Lite is how easy it is to cut and paste different ideas together. This came from the building of a lasagne plot. Once I saw that, all I had to find was how to do the height and width step. It's all very intuitive. 🙂
wow, excellent solution, thank you very much, the only thing missing is that the adjustment of the text in the headers be dynamic like that of the native Matrix of power bi, it is the only limitation that I see in the language of Vega or Vega-Lite...
Hi, I've a table which each row is for a product, the columns Country/Region, City, Category, Sub-Category and Product Name are displayed. One row is for each product. I've a matrix which each row is for a product as well. The columns are repeated for each Year-Month. I would like to combined both so that the Year-Month columns of the matrix will be displayed on the right hand side of the table. I can't use the step-off option in the matrix because the sorted by column of the table is by user selection. So the user can select to sort by either City, Category, Sub-Category or Product Name. The nesting hierarachy in the matrix make it not possible to do such sorting. Is it possible to create such a table & matrix combo with Deneb? Thanks!
Awesome! I've a question about a limit of columns inside matrix visual. In Power BI, we've only 255 columns as a limit. How to change this limit by using vega code? Regards
You are doing an awesome job. I got so many solutions from your videos. But I am stuck at one point. I am creating a sales report for my company. for that each month I get txt file. The size of each file is around 150mb. For that, I also have to combine old data. data for the years 2019,2020 and 2021. now the thing is, I also get patient data. now, I want to give the patient's id. Based on the patient's name and DOB. The challenge is Patient's id should only be given if that patient coming for the first time. if the patient comes again after two years, an old id should be given. One more condition; all patient information should not be included in a data model. I have to delete all columns except the patient's id. How can I do this? please help me. I am stuck at this point for while. Thank you in advance. Keep going.
Awesome job! Thanks for sharing! Out of interest, can I add double header? I.e. Category & Sub-Category at the top of “x” “field”? Or it will only accept one field? Thanks
Thanks! :) Yes, you can add a Category/Subcategory on the x field. It's a little bit hacky I suppose, but it works well. I should update the Deneb templates on my website so you can see it there, thanks for the reminder!
@@PowerBIFerryTales Hi, cool video with explanations. Standard Matrix visual is missing so much stuff. Would be great if you could add Category/Subcategory/SubSubCategory fields to your examples. It very usable!
Ok, thanks for this Ben, I'm 5 videos in and you've almost convinced/inspired me to go down this rabbit hole. Nice work. 👍
Excellent, happy to hear it. The rabbit hole is deep, but very enjoyable. 😄
Great solution. Matrix solved. Next TABLE: to have headings underlined by color, also fixed sizes, ...🙂
Ha! I like this challenge! 😃
Congratulations Ben, that is very impressive. A lot of hours must have gone into mastering this.

Awesome!
thank you for the video. How can we add a grand total for rows and columns?
wondering if I could mix it with a bar and an area chart. really nice work.
Oh yes! Lovely work. I'm off to rip up some crappy matrices!
Do it! Let them burn and we will rebuild! 😄
Really appealing !!! ❤
Great! One thing I was wondering is why didn't you fixed the blank in the matrix?
