This is what happens when you don't understand cameras and test procedures.
If you want anything but a white photo the camera is miles away with exposure so low most of the scene is straight up invisible. Infrared cameras may also be used.
Remember this is hotter than the sun.. Don't believe me? Get a (cheap) camera and lower the exposure all the way untill you see nothing,, then point it at the sun.. Invisible earth, visible sun. Congrats you are a fake human that doesn't exist and now you're camera is permanently grainy
(PS don't look at the sun though glass or with naked eyes you will go blind and so will the camera)

It's obvious to me that this guy don't know his azz from a hole in the ground. Cameras were placed in blast and radiation proof enclosures. It's called engineering and not all that hard to do. You'd be surprised at what a couple of inches of steel and concrete will withstand.

Decades ago it was also stated that various pics are done with protected camera & film inside a housing with filters and a heat activated shutter closing the box, probably similar to todays building fire damper steel shutters using a fusible link that melts at a specific temp.
Similarly with rocket launches close pics of exhaust on launchpad.

@@Superabound2They only look like miniatures because it's a model of a house and a car. The military doesnt go bombing fully fleshed out buildings, thatd be time and cost ineffective. They build life sized replicas of these things or use old or dummy equipment to simulate the real deal. The blast is real, the footage is spliced between pre detonation and during. The time between, they were probably setting up things or running checks which can also be too time consuming (minutes to hours) to try to put in a 10 second clip. Film couldve also been damaged somehow requiring a splice between best shot and det shot. If that's a miniature there was a fine craftsman who did it, the finest in human history with highly advanced tech to get every fine detail right.

@@Evan_Bell no shit Sherlock, you understand what a short sarcastic comment is? And I know exactly what happens during a nuclear explosion, from the various methods by which runaway chain reactions are created to how they help initiate the thermo portion of a thermonuclear weapon. And I know these things because my military career was spent around old Mr. Nukey and then I went to work for Sandia. So if you really want to get into the weeds of the effects caused by nuclear and thermonuclear explosions we can do that in excruciating detail. For example during an actual nuclear exchange it wouldn't go down like the end of ww2 or the movies where only 1 bomb is ever used on a target city or whatever. No, high value and strategic targets would be hit with anywhere from 10 to 36 individual warheads depending on what the target was. Take the PSA that New York city put out a few summers back about "Surviving the Big One" all that information was based on the city being hit with 1 bombwhen in reality those 12- 15 weapons have yields of about 8x the bombs used in ww2 at a minimum because almost every single modern nuke is of the variable yield variety. So that PSA should tell people how to put a will together because there's no surviving up to 15 thermonuclear detonations in your city.
Or if thats a little depressing just read the snarky anecdote for what it was and move on with life, stop being a pedantic little shithead or if that's too complex don't be the

The edited film was likely done In segments and multiple takes. This could explain the magical appearance of the car. Its not a surprise that there is NO vibration in the footage, as movies filmed in vehicles in motion were very common in the 1930s and subsequent years. Isolation rigging and vibration dampening are used for eliminating the vibration or jigging/ bouncing. Also the faster shutter speed doesn't allow for every single vibration to be recorded and it. Results in the slow motion capture of the footage as seen in this particular clip. Admittedly the whole thing looks like models from a Godzilla movie, and can clearly be seen in the electrical tower scene as it wobbles like only a plastic model could!

I haven't watched this JRE, but apparently they were using this as an example of how easy it is to spread misinformation and create conspiracies. This guy apparently knows the videos aren't fake (which they are NOT), he was just showing how easy it is to create doubt and create conspiracies that spread (I haven't confirmed that this is actually what happened in the JRE episode to be clear).
Still, you can find all the information on how the cameras were protected. The were at safe distances (some weren't and didn't survive). They were on 8inch thick poles, with buried reinforced concrete anchors that held the electronics, plus additional steal cables holding the poles. The cameras were in steel and lead plate enclosures, special film less sensitive to radiation was used, and additional mirrors allowed it to not look directly at the blast.
Believe the car was just added later, but the editing just made it seem like it appeared.

There is a feature on camera’s called “zoom”. When used it makes it look like you’re right next to what you’re filming. If this is video of the first test those camera’s are 10 Km from ground zero. They also placed cameras in lead boxes mounted to concrete bunkers. They also didn’t point the cameras at the explosions; they pointed them at mirrors that were facing the explosions from 10 Km away so the radiation didn’t destroy the film. Despite this, many cameras and their footage was still lost to the explosions.

      2) The car situation does seem weird, until you remember that film was expensive and not digital. You would have tested the camera ahead of time, then started it back up later. From the time when they started it to the time when they recorded the blast, someone put a car there.
If you were going to fake it to scare the Russians, you wouldn't fuck up and magically put a car in the scene.
