- Updates ** Patch 1.4 fixed the achievement for getting all the loot items, hopefully this video helps you guys snag the achievement (used to be that Hubbard slice and flame of Prometheus being mutually exclusive broke the achievement).
Evil Genius 2 is full of loot items you can hunt down in side stories. These are powerful items of myth and legend, along side dumb carnival rides. You need to know if what you are investing in is going to be worth it, so that's where this video comes in. I explain all of the loot items in the game, how to unlock them, what their effects are, and if they are good. This list took me quite a while to put together, and hopefully serves as a hub of all the community's knowledge on the subject.
The tier list includes Pre-Order loot items, promotional loot items, and DLC loot items coming from the Cabal Pack DLC. All footage and analysis is coming from gameplay on patch 1.3.

I got the prometheus fire yesterday
Idk how I got it maybe because I have incendio cause he has something with fire
I think the magic carpet has the additional effect of "rescuing" minion from you operations. From time to time when you do operation, a regular worker will spawn from it. So it allows you to rebuild you manpower more quickly.
@@luckybenjamin6815 yeah, I tried using the Incendio side story to cause an inferno but that unfortunately still didn't give me the side story :(
I’m watching a guy play through this (Chris Pryor I believe), and he got that joke item the doors of Fort Knox. Maybe some insight there.
World's Oldest Bones: Lowers Science-class Minion's smarts. Supposedly increases science-class minions vitality and resolve.
Background info on No.2.
In the original EG1 "No.2" was the tutorial mentor. She would guide you through learning the basics of the game and was the credited creator of the many in-game tutorial videos that would explain parts of the game as you progress towards world domination. This proved her undoing as she essentially made herself obsolete that way and was executed by Eli on Max's behest shortly afterwards.
Her last words: "I never liked you anyway."
Note that the "Hubbard Slice" and "Flames of Prometheus" are both mutually exclusive with each other, whichever one you get first will lock the other

As of the latest patch they seem to have 'fixed' it.
In that if you get the Flame first, it locks out the Hubbard Slice, but not the other way around.
Naturally, the Flame's quest can show up a chapter or two earlier than the Slice...

The chair is the Time Machine from H.G. Wells' The Time Machine. Its the OG that the DeLorean itself is based on.
The Tzar Bomba is the largest nuke ever dropped IRL. It was a ~50 megaton bomb, and had they gone all the way it might have reached ~100 MT.
The Sands Of Time was a big part of my Portal Pack DLC traps, since it could heal the turrets, allowing them to sustain against just about any super agent that couldn't out and out destroy them in one hit... Or those awful, awful exploding robots.
The chair is from the 1960 movie based on the HG Wells Time Machine.
I recently unlocked the Doors of Fort Knox side story immediately after completing the first quest for Blue Saint's elimination while on Objective 10. However, I had already done the first quest for the other Super Agents elimination as well. Blue Saint was simply the last. Since completion of a side story based in SMASH territory is what unlocked it, doing missions in SABRE territory may have nothing to do with it, or at least be only part of the puzzle. That being said, I had also done a fair number of schemes in SABRE territory, including intel based heat reduction schemes.
Also, the Columbian Emerald doesn't just help minions morale restore more quickly, it actually regenerates their morale while they have the buff, regardless of what they're doing. This easily puts this loot item in S tier for me. Just my thoughts.
Yeah it’s amazing it increases their morale to the max. The emerald put right next to your stairs (or portals between floors) gives a MASSIVE morale boost to everyone in your base. Now if I can figure out how to get the door mission to spawn..

Ah. So that's what the Meditation Stone does. I just thought it was bugged and doing nothing but drain smarts and I was keeping it around mainly as a decoration like the Bones and Pandora's Box.
A point in the RAYGUN's favor is that it doesn't lose durability, unlike the regular interrogation chair which keeps it as a decent fallback for when you do a lot of schemes that take technicians and/or set your base on fire as Ivan. The latter incidentally being a situation that the Hubbard Slice didn't actually help with in my first campaign, but that may have been patched since then.

The Sands of Time is great for your prison since all those items have a constant and pretty fast decay (actually a tiny bit faster than the Sands repair) regardless of whether or not they're being used. The only problem with that is the radius isn't very generous compared to the size of prison items, but they can go a long way to letting your engineers deal with the rest of your base instead of constantly trying to keep all your holding cells and prisoner chairs intact.

I got the Doors of Fort Knox playing as Zalika in my last game. I can't remember what triggered it (sorry wasn't paying as much attention) but it is PATRIOT (Fort Knox) item and it basically locks out tourists and certain agents. I thought it was really quite good. I did see some agents constantly try and not sure if they eventually get in after awhile or was just lucky that a minion was coming through at the same time. I was having a lot of issues in the last game of tourist just going through any door and setting off my traps (and then being told about it constantly) but when I put that up as a quick exit to the cover op with my minions that stopped most of those incidents and also forced unwanted guests down a more... interesting path to my base.
Declaration morale gain is real fast, its much better that Syrup

But they don’t get a lasting buff like the Syrup gives. The syrup buff keeps their morale maxed out for a good 2 minutes or so
Really good info, especially Excalibur. Had that once in an Emma run-through and I didn't realize it did anything besides drain muscle minions. I did get Prometheus Fire on an Ivan run-through (maybe infernos trigger it?) and it was a pain. Sets fire to everything, so it needs to be in an empty room without traps, doors, or much friendly traffic.
Ah maybe I never had enough fires at once.
I tend to do the first mission of incendio and that tends to work for me since he lights my casino on fire.

A real cool thing about Carrion Flower and a Million Bees is that they also seems to be an obstacle. so if you replace a wall with them you are effectivly trapping 2 corridors with the same trap
Arabian jars are actually not bad for dealing with symetry. If you have multiple vaults the heist team sometimes enters in seperate places and having them enter in a vault where they can't steal anything can allow you to divide and conquer them quite easilly without any hickups in your gold capacity
Yes! I felt like there was more potential to the traps than I was unlocking with my simple set up.
The split vault play sounds clever. Even though they nerfed Symmetry in 1.3 I still hold a grudge :P
In 1.4 Update, here is how I got Flame AND Fort Knox (Playing as Zalika, easy):
Flame of Prometheus was unlocked after upgrading doomsday device to stage 2. Side quest became available immediately after digging the 12 dirt.
Doors of Fort Knox was unlocked after completing 25 "heat schemes", which is tracked under the Global Operations tab. I do not think the schemes need to be in a certain region, and anything that reduces heat (even quest/story schemes) counts.
My doomsday device is at stage 2 and still the Prometheus side story still doesn't trigger
I dont know what made the sword in Stone Work for me after all but after replacing this thing in the Armory it worked wonders. Having basically a second life does help a lot cause i lost considerably less Muscle Minions. Like i said no Idea how i made work but if works its really great and i would definitly rate A if not S Tier
Sands of Time works amazingly with those Engineer workstations that break down Really fast (you know, the group think circle and test chamber things).
The green emerald basically gives a morale regen buff to any minion that passes by, also making things like Salaries completely obsolete. Any unpaid minion will just get their morale filled up by just walking by. Just put the emerald at some main corridor crossroads where all the minions walk by it. Absolutely S tier imo.
The old bones trains up to quantum biologist. But only works fully when you unlock the minion type

Honestly it looks worse than I thought in terms of feeling like cut content. Also, the devs showed that they have the ability to give us new items on existing saves (the tutorial minion loot statue is available on all your saves now) they just choose to force you to start new campaigns to use the dlc content. I've got an idea of trying to do a evil genius 2 speed run video to get them unlocked and be able to show them off. Maybe I can get someone like EasyBuilds to also do a speedrun video...

@@zackstipic2521 seems very silly to not just have priced this latest DLC into the main game, or give it out free after seeing the unhappy reviews on the previous pack.
i think you need to have alot of Fire extinguishers in your base ((i did for my run over 20 and thats when i got that quest in chap ...i believe it was 6 maybe 7))
Fort knox doors i believe you need to "allow" enemies into your base and not hit Red alert Until they are inside ((in a sense they "break in" and now your getting the Doors to keep them out))
I think the Excalibur buff can only effect one minion at a time and if so I would pouch it down one peg.
The flame of Promitius require a rather large area around it without any flammable objects or it will have a big risk of setting them on fire so I say a bit worse than the other loot traps.
A small bonus to the grill (unless I misremember) is like almost all loot you can put it in any type of room so you can easy putt it in a effective please without having to fit a mess hall in with the 2x2 flor requirement of the game.
i have got the Flame of Prometheus Quest in the second wave of the Treasure Quests you get, you need to get something in your lair to burn before you unlock the biologist minions, otherwise you unlock the hubbard slice and that item locks the Flame of Prometheus
The world's oldest bones give any doctors working at it a personality trait that makes them lose smarts slower. However since all employees have two traits you need to have the medication stone if you want to make use of the bones.

Ive started getting back into this game, and was curious if you were planning on coming back to redo the henchman and loot tier-lists, or if i am maybe missing them in your channel.
Haha, life is keeping me very busy but I do want to redo the henchman one. Very unlikely I revisit the loot tier list.

You actually aren’t wrong about how to cue the Flames of Prometheus, you do need to have a fire started in your lair but it must be a “Raging Inferno” for it to trigger.

Idk why you can't get the flames of Prometheus, less you forgot it's mutual exclusivity with the ice block thing
The sands of time will stop capacitors from exploding when your power is low. Giving you enough time to turn things off and keeping your prisoners locked in their cells when low on power.
Same on Flame of Prometheus. I have every single other loot item in a single play through, but in 6 complete runs I have never been able to get it to show up.
in all my 5 game play throughs ive ever seen it once... on ivan

The statue of liberty torch is literally an F tier because minions seeing through disguises lose Skill and Morale whenever they do, and increasing their spotting power is the quickest way to get mass desertions.

i think the best loot is the Columbian Emerald. I placed it in the busiest intersection of the Lair and all minions got the buff. This makes them use the dining room and beds less often, and make everyone in a good mood.
Which mode that you played? Sandbox? I played normal (Create New) and i can't collect all the loots (which i don't like). How to collect them all? Is the any requisite? Thank you. Btw i love your videos so much. They help a lot
The patch allowing you to get the achievement for collecting them all just came yesterday (patch 1.4) I played on medium on the footage on the video, but you can be on any difficulty.
I have both The flame of Prometheus and the doors of Fort Knox on my Emma play through. Door is almost useless because you get what you pay for, a harder to breach door for both rouges and minions. I personally hate the flame of Prometheus. It’s a great damage trap setting agents on fire, but it has a huge tendency to back fire on minions. Those minions can run into items setting them on fire. Doors of Fort Knox, D teir for uselessness. Flame of Prometheus C teir
For the Dodo Educator you have to spawn Wrecking Bola
Will there be video about decor items and their effects? Because those items have some curious effects.
For example, item, that improves restoring of smarts from eating, actually gives minion buff "well fed", which make them restore their stats for some time.
Edit: nevermind, it seems like buff happens, when specialist minion picks their correct table.
I do want to play around with decorations, I saw a clever comment about creating a waiting room for idle minions with chairs and decorations to keep their stats topped off.
Considering how easily you can get most loot some of the more passive ones can be great
The Tsar bomb is a clear reference to the largest nuke ever detonated, the Soviet "Царь-бомба"
honestly, I like to use the Doctors formula. It's incredibly helpful when heat is very high

I think with the DLC sands of time deserves B. Having it next to my turret production is a must.
I'm not sure how I got the fire trap I played as Ivan so Chances are it has something to do with the amount of things to get caught on fire and possibly destroyed or even minion deaths trying to put out rampant fires. It's an ok trap and sets everything and everyone on fire in it's radius.
Same thing with Fort Knox door not sure how I unlocked it, but I went ahead and just used it as a fancy door for Ivan's room.

A year late but for prometheus flame you need a RAGING FIRE in your lair at least once. Meaning lots of items on fire
Cupid Arrow also reduces Skill and Resolve. Might be useful to know.
You may have too low an opinion of Morale Restores loot. Cheap enough in terms of costs to acquire, can be plopped down anywhere, low or even 0 power cost, and cannot ever be destroyed, only stolen? They may lack any "flashy factor" but do a pretty solid job at the time you acquire them?
Does the Moai head count towards your camera count or not?
The Tsar bomb is, sadly, not EG 1's Doomsday Device.
Fort Nox doors has no healthbar so it is unbreakable

Lol, I didn’t even know there were requirements to actually unlock mission to get loot items, on my first play through with Red Ivan I started getting loot items at around chapter 4 I think, and managed to get fortnox door, I just used it as the final door into my main prison room, literally no one was getting out of the room without meeting my reactive security force.
I think to get the flamees of prometheus you have to complette the firts quest for clara jones
I really wish they would tell you in the missions which ones are exclusive to others so you don't get something that locks you out of something else. Trial and error is one thing, but it's a lot more error than anything else if you don't get a clue what denies what.
Yeah, seems like with all the effort the devs put into the side stories (voiced scenes and stuff) that they would try to make it easy to experience as many different side stories as possible.
I had the flame of Prometheus it set all of my stuff on fire and during the mission it lit random stuff on fire
I hate that there are loot items that can only be obtained by playing poorly.
I got the liberty's Torch before that part of the main story.
I can’t get atomic Ulga to spawn is there any tips to do it besides doing a lot of schemes in hammer and letting it max out because I really want the sword in the stone
All I can say is upgrade those criminal networks so you have higher max heat and run specifically money making schemes to completion in the region. Hope you get the sword!

The sword in the stone was bugged I know this because when the game came out and I got the sword in the stone I watched multiple of my security minions pull it out I believe it was just a bug in process being punctured out it’s very good I would say it would be at least a B tear
Yeah they had some undisclosed ultra strict requirement for a guard to be the chosen one at first. Similar I think to how the decorations had a decimal point wrong in their effectiveness at first. I would agree that it is a good loot item now.
How do you sign up for the newsletter to get the dog statue? And how do you transfer the other statue to your game if you join the Discord?
My understanding was those loots were only put up for grabs pre-release to kick start building those communities. The discord is still very active and if you go over there they'll help you get unlocked whatever is available.

Try playing Emma for the doors of fort Knox I got it on my first playthrough I didn't really do anything special to get it besides get my ass handed to me allot lol

If you mean the traits on the minions yes they do. Unfortunately I still do not have a good list of all the trait effects, the only ones I know are the ones that were changed in patch 1.3 and detailed in the game notes.

Yeah, I can't get the Flame of Prometheus either. I don't have the Hubbard Slice, I've had saboteurs burn parts of my lair before now, and I've let Incendio burn down my casino in chapter 7, nothing works.
(This is playing as Max. I'd think it if was just stuff catching fire, I'd have gotten it while playing as Ivan before now)
Yeah sifting through suggestions from other comments people think that maybe it has to do with how many simultaneous fires you have or a number of items actually being destroyed. The side story being bugged for some users is also always a possibility.
I never grabbed the Declaration of Independence because of it's historical value but now that I see it raises morale I believe it would be useless for me

I think only base game loot is considered. That being said there still seems to be a bug with the achievement and the hubbard slice/flame of prometheus.

Yeah we got some nice quality of life improvements since this video was made.
Something to note about the moai head: unlike other cameras, you can put it in rooms other than hallways like your vault or inner sanctum which is what I did and it absolutely ruins symmetry's ability to start in your vault when she gets detected immediately.
Haha nice. And with the new 360 camera in the latest dribble of dlc we've got even more ways to ruin Symmetry's day.

I hear they are changing what some of loot items do because they don't function as they were intended. Bit strange.
Hopefully it is a simple fix, like how at first we were only getting one John Steele outfit and they can just "turn on" the effects that are bugged.

I always thought the Million Bees was disappointing, if only because we already have plenty of bees. Yes, bees are my go-to trap (Welcome to Applebees, sorry, we're all out of apples) but loot should be interesting at a minimum. Doubling down on a well covered concept... isn't.
Plus, there are plenty of other options. How about scorpions? Or snakes? Or spiders, just to fill Emma up with warm fuzzies? There were other, more unique options to go with.
But "you're one in a scorp-ilion" just didn't work as well as bee-lion and the devs think the pun potential of the name is just as important as the item itself :P
So just use a different pun. "I Spy-der," "Outback Snakehouse," or "Evil Genius Inscorporated."
