    Andrew, awesome car to start with. That's my favorite of the impala's. The 63 on the floor Pan assembly. They only offer one After market floor Pan assembly, no distinction between convertible or hard. Top any differences between the two and you will have to modify yourself. Good luck on your project !

      Ok I understand. I haven’t seen any challenges I haven’t overcome yet so I’m just going to get into it. You obviously know that these aftermarket parts aren’t what they used to be and the people selling them aren’t either. So much misinformation out there. Especially from the people selling the things.. I appreciate your response and I will keep you posted on the progress. Thank you Robert!

      I did my 61 vert used a 1 piece floor and unfortunately 61 62 are different in toe area and bench seat holes are different as floor is based off 63 also the manufactures wont put in the extra convertible mount hole and nuts in the cross brace's even if you wanted to pay extra ! 61 62 vert rams mount to floor and a very strange thing is that some verts have a pair of drains off top area and drain into rockers dont think those cars without them like this one was ever supposed to be sold in rainy areas lol

    Bro. You could probably make aftermarket sheet metal parts for convertibles. I bet people would buy them up. Nobody makes em.

    I am preparing to start this same project on this same car. I thank you for COMPLETELY changing the way I was thinking of doing it! Rather than an absurdly complicated cage or braces welded up inside the car to support everything and trying to work around and underneath all that, instead I will support the body from underneath as you have done. Will likely also leave the doors on the entire time so I can check my work as I go. Thanks for sharing your revolutionary how-to knowledge.

    I did an almost complete rebody of a ‘68 Camaro. We didn’t check to see if the windshield frame was straight and got all the way through paint only to realize the convertible top didn’t want to fit and driver’s side door glass wouldn’t close to the A pillar. Lesson learned, no more rusty convertibles! Love your videos!

    Hey Robert awesome work and thank you for what you’re doing for people like me that are learning from you and others on TH-cam! You are an excellent craftsman and teacher as well. I am actually about to start my own 63 impala convertible floor and trunk floor. I have a question for you. I want to purchase a floor with braces and inner rockers already installed. Was this installation done with a complete floor such as this? And more importantly will a 2 door hardtop complete floor work on my convertible? Are the different besides the 4 added brackets you cut off? Any advice would be greatly appreciate. Thanks and keep up the good work!!

    Such an incredible job, and the old repairs are horrible and time-consuming. I wanted to ask about our 62 impala. What do you replace first the rockers or the floor, or do you do them all at the same time.

    • @guzzifabrication3448
      @guzzifabrication3448  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on the amount of damage, if your using a frame fixture you can cut it out all at one time after proper bracing. Thanks for watching brother !
