    What has helped me
    1. WATCHING THIS CHANNEL BECAUSE IT MAKES ME FEEL LIKE FULL RECOVERY IS POSSIBLE
    2. Yoga 20 min every morning and every night, nothing strenuous, just stretching and breathing on the floor.
    3. Smiling throughout the day, making sure that when my body tenses up, I take a deep breath and I smile, I try to feel happy emotions.
    4. Gupta program has helped a lot, pretty much helping those negative beliefs feel less powerful, and making my positive emotions more powerful.
    5. Mid-day doing a single nostril breathing exercise while smiling
    6. Changing my job from a stressful one into an ALOT less stressful one (RECOVERY WOULDN'T BE POSSIBLE WITHOUT THIS ONE CHANGE).
    7. Watching Laughing yoga in the shower. I would get nervous in the shower (I have POTS), watch laughing yoga while showering and the lightheadedness would not come to me, this one was almost miraculous.
    8. Making sure I don't get stressed by daily activities, and live in gratitude, I think to myself, "I don't deserve this life, yet I have it".
    9. Socializing intentionally with people I feel safe around, I schedule time every week, to spend time with people I love and feel safe around.
    10. I listen to Disney music that is happy with headphones on.
    11. Dancing and being silly, and moving body without self-judgment. For some reason, I felt so good doing this.
    12. Singing songs that made me happy out loud, this helped when i felt that weird vibration inside my body, and it would make it go away after a few songs.
    13. Strengthening my religious faith has helped, reading my body out our every day.
    14. Visualizing a stronger, more amazing ME
I am almost fully recovered. But I want to say that the beginning of this journey was extremely hard. I DID NOT want to do yoga, I did not want to just sit still (mind-wise). But I gave it a shot and after a few days I started to sleep better and feel better and I knew this was helping. Don't give up. I have POTS and Long Covid. Please don't give up. Reach out to a friend for emotional support. Go on FB forums. Don't isolate yourself as much as you want to. Keep watching these stories.

“Sometimes it’s not even when my symptoms are the worst...” yes I certainly understand this!!! Although I find that mental health and the cfs symptoms can coincide that’s not always true, sometimes my mental health is the most “challenged” when I’m physically feeling better

I've only discovered your channel recently and I've gotten so much from it already. This is a great video. Yesterday I watched all of the videos on your CFS story. Seriously, who gets CFS, travels the world, works about 7 different jobs (including scuba diving) and has such an incredible story to tell after what should have been the longest period in the wilderness ever? You have such a great combination of responsibility and recklessness in your character. I'm a fan!

This video is so good! I appreciate how you broke down common themes in CFS recovery journeys. As you mention, there are not a lot of studies and things known about what works in CFS, which makes this video, based on actual experiences of people with CFS is incredibly valuable. Extra appreciation on the mental health aspect and guidance on living authentically, and staying true to yourself and your experience. I got diagnosed 2 months ago after 7 years of suffering and constant decline. It was such an empowering experience for me. It helped me understand and accept my suffering, and ultimately my limitations. It has been a huge teacher for me and I’ve made some changes since then. I’ve already been gluten free, lactose and alcohol free and work part time from home since the pandemic (and I just had 2 boys in the past 3 yrs). I’ve made some other key changes in lifestyle and diet and it’s helped so much.

First I'd like to say I'm so very sorry for your loss of your Mother. ❤ I suddenly lost my husband last year 2022 my soulmate who I spent 25 years with, the father to my children. Widowed at 41 he was only 46. We ran away in our younger years to be together. I will be writing our story sometime, anyway I digress. I have undiagnosed cfs since 2021. I know that is what this is. I'm struggling so much with the greif on top and massive health anxiety. I'm so glad I found your channel. After watching a few videos I'm beginning to believe there is hope that people can and do recover. I want to be here in this physical world. I need to be here for my children so I have to recover. Great and positive video Raelan. First my condolences for your mother. So saddened to hear. Second it resonates that mindset is key. There is no one size fits all way out bc we all got into this different ways, to me that makes sense. What I gather then is that if you understand how you got ME/CFS (stressful relationship, poor diet, ect) that becomes your primary pathway out. Address those things first! Thank you for all you do 💗🙏💗

Mine was 13 years of age discrimination after the 2OO8 crash - I was even physically threatened by coworkers when I did finally get hired for being over 40 - regardless of reaching out for help in time I was starving to death and being evicted into the streets - I had to fight so hard to keep my apartment day and night & get food in my stomach and I succeeded but by then my body mind & emotions were so burnt that I just live now in a constant of fear because for many years no matter how much I asked for help no one would help me in a city of 9 million people and a church on every corner. I acquired some financial stability but I'm alone now and age 63 so all my talents skills experience and up right character and integrity appear to mean nothing. The millinial generation has been trained by the educational system to be the most narcissist selfish generation of our time when it comes to the dismissal disregard and abuse of professionals over forty & the elderly.

And yes I am very angry - I was athletic beautiful strong talented positive joyful and at my peak at age 48 - I was far from old and much healthier than most 20 years old but companies barred me out of the job market simple based on my age - the saw a resume a done with a lot experience skills which is what disqaulfied me even an interview.

You mentioned in passing mold, but this deserves more light. I've listened to every interview you've done (And many others from other channels), and the majority of these people moved houses or jobs just before becoming sick or just before recovering, often both. I plan to go back and document each instance with timestamps. Think about all the people that get sick at university, for instance. Those people recover more often than others because when they fall Ill, they don't stay in their university house like the rest of us do. We tend to stay in our caves. I believe the stress and overwhelm that most of us feel prior to illness is a result of the mold toxins triggering our panic center (to get the heck out) and burdening our detox pathways. Do professional athletes get cfs because they pushed too hard? No. Everyone in the western world is burning the candle at both ends, we are not special or tougher than anyone. When you look at the mold literature and CIRS it all comes together. I think your content is fantastic for aiding in recovery, but you need to incorporate this final piece. If I'm not mistaken your Thailand trip was the turning point of your illness, was it not?

My heart breaks for you and I am so sorry for your loss, and it is one of the most amazing testimonies to recovery I've seen that after the unique and horrible stress and the emotional pain that comes with losing someone to depression, you are here, showing up, still focused and doing everything in your power to stay strong and help all of us and do work I can't imagine having the strength and energy to do! So many people are impressed you have run a marathon, but to me, THIS is proof of where you are in your journey and how far you've come, more than that, even. You have a way of saying things that helps makes things click. Your honesty is everything. Because when you are honest about the struggles and the hard stuff, it means the hope is real, too.

It's so rare to find someone that is positive about it and is able to share clear tips for recovery like you do. I'm amazed by all the information I find in your channel. Only after applying some of the principles you talk about here I was able to recover, I think I'm at the 70% mark right now, cause I can't seem to recover my vision to the point it used to be although my eyes are clinicaly healthy. Living in a stressed state has been my pattern for decades. I'm now working hard in recognising my negative thoughts and stressed feelings and literally telling myself to stop, then reset using deep breathing. It's made me realise how many times during the day I feel stressed. Yin yoga is a massive help to anyone interested in resetting a damaged nervous system. Good luck everyone 🍀

Raelan your words are so inspiring and a boost for motivation and hope. I often watch your videos. TH-cam is such a great resource but at the same time is a a way to earn money and an “advertising” place and I saw a format that repeats: people who interview other people who have healed and now offer consultation or trainings. This “format” of a people who recover and now sells something (coaching, training or something else) looks like a new way of business and if on one hand these video are inspiring on the other hand you ask yourself: are they real? What’s the purpose? Because you listen that some one has recovered but if you want to know more you have to pay a consultation. are these ways to promote people’s business? It would be great to interview someone who recovered but don’t sell anything.. just share what worked for him/her to help others.
I tell you this because as yours there are other channels about cfs,Lyme, fibromyalgia.. and all the interviews have the same format: a person recovered and now sells you something ( coaching, training..) and lately there is this trend of brain training.
Don’t get me wrong: it’s right that you earn money because you invest time and energy in this channel. It’s a job. But.. the people you interview.. why they all are “ consultants”? Why what made recovery possible is something that cannot be shared freely but needs you to take consultation with them. Is this the reason why lately in all the channels are interviewed people who recovered with brain retraining? Because it can be”sold” through consultation and cannot be shared on an interview? Maybe I am wrong, and I’m not against you (I love your videos) I’m just afraid that this thing of recovery when paired with money is exploited

@@SRF-vm3fy Thanks for asking! I was reading about TMS and Dr John Sarno stuff, and you know what? In mid December 2021 all my ME/CFS symptoms just switched off. It felt like a switch - something in my body just changed! I have been ill since 2000 and have been hoping to get my first 24 hours this millennium during which I am NOT ill - and that time has finally arrived! Since mid December I have had no ME symptoms and I have been doing all the things a "normal" person would do. I get tired easily but I don't feel ILL. It is not surprising I get tired. In 2014 I was bedridden and decided to do whatever it took to get well, which meant doing as little as is humanly possible ALL the time (you'd be amazed how little I can do!)
