      Honestly, the other woman does have a year still to find the right dress. It’s not really a make or break situation like it is for the bride in the episode. I know dresses take about 8 months to come in, but she could shop around some more. AND the sales woman was on her side asking her repeatedly is this the dress for her and she didn’t respond. But I definitely agree, never go shopping with another bride.

    The groom keeps saying "I'll just work some more overtime" whenever he proposes some ridiculously expensive accessory. Sounds like he's already living paycheck-to-paycheck; what happens when the economy tanks and he gets laid off? Will he cherish the memories of the seven-layer cake and $150 centerpieces while he and his bride are living in their car?

      Sure, a wedding is a day, marriage is for life, debts are dangerous.
      He is better than many brides on this show.
      He is saying he is going to WORK for paying It.
      Most brides on this show ask others (husband, mother, father etc) to pay for their expensive taste.

    • @enibeni2071
      @enibeni2071 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also, I want to say that he wanting the expensive ring isn't different from what most brides on this show (and in real life) do . Most brides on this show think her dress is the most important thing on a wedding and they pay for dresses that are over their budget ( +800, +1000, +2000...).
      On the other hand, the ring can be used many times, the wedding dress can only be used 1 time.

    Our wedding cost approx £250. We had a cheap caravan honeymoon and fishnchips and a bottle of champagne in a beach pub, after a reg office in Cornwall. Two witnesses as guests only. It was lovely. My dress was a vintage ebay find for £25. It's not all about the money and a big wow effect, it's about commiting to someone for the rest of your lives.

    Never go bridal shopping with another bride and be careful on your entourage. Her 'friend' that is pushing for the princess gown is choosing it because that is what she would wear. By the way the other girl who also wanted the dress was very generous to give up the dress for her. I hope she finds something prettier because she is far more deserving and is far more deserving of better friends. She should kick these two to the curb.

    • @MsJubjubbird
      @MsJubjubbird 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      If you shop with another bride then you'll be influenced by their choices. It's a normal psychological phenomenon to not really want something until someone else has it. If the other bride picks a dress and it looks good on them, you might want it then too, even though there could be a dress that is good for just you. Her friend then was the same girl who had a whine about not getting the bridesmaid dress she wants when it's not ehr wedding

      I really hope that part was fake and set up by production for extra drama because that was awful of the featured bride to do to her friend that is also a bride and loved that dress and had it on first. And the friend that wasn't a bride sucks in every way too, so rude. Also wasn't that the first dress the featured bride saw on the rack and passed on because of the color and told her friend to try on...then was only interested in it when her friend loved it. Disgusting behavior in my opinion. The only way I would ever try on/get a wedding dress that my friend that is also getting married had on first would be if she didn't like it on herself at all and encouraged me to try it out for myself

    11:00 I feel so bad for her friend! She really loved the dress and was so uncomfortable. I hope she found her perfect dress.
    14:02 Tom uses the technique - door in the face. He makes extra large requests which he knows will be denied like, a ten tier cake to someone who wants a four tier and then makes a smaller demand (seven tier) which seems like a compromise but is not.
    17:41 Same for the centerpieces, where even 55$ was over budget initially but 65$ seems acceptable later.
    14:36 and 23:36
    The girl too wants the bigger cake and the expensive ring but just acted reluctant.

    Tom is a “keep up with the Jone’s” kind of guy. He’s too worried about what other people think and how they perceive him. Not a good combo when your bride is more on the fugal side. I don’t even think she’s frugal, she’s reasonable. I have a male friend amongst my circle of girlfriends, we are forever teasing him about his pretentious attitude. He only drinks a special type of expensive coffee and turns his nose up at anything else. If it’s more expensive then it must be good. We tricked him by switching his coffee and put Folders in his coffee can. He swears that he would know the difference.. but he didn’t! LoL We didn’t have the heart to tell him either, we just held our breaths as he sipped a good ole cup of Folders and bragged about how delicious it was. LoL

    We walked down the aisle together - the same way this couple did. My hubby is 1/2 Finnish, and it’s a tradition for them to not have the father give the bride away. My father died when I was 15, so I didn’t have a father to give me away. I think walking together is a great compromise - especially if your father isn’t around anymore for whatever reason.

    They want a Champaign wedding but only have a beer income. You can't fund your wedding on overtime. Well at least they won't starve: they will be eating cake forever. If this guy wants this extravagant wedding they should delay the wedding until they have b=the budget saved to support it. Everyday college students acquire staggering amounts of debt for education but at least it has a purpose that will hopefully give them an income to pay it off and live well. But to acquire this massive debt for one day is beyond my comprehension.

    There’s no reason they both can’t buy the same style of dress and wear it. Almost all dresses come in various shades of white and unless you’re buying the floor sample it’ll be custom fit to your measurements. Order that dress in white white and the friend can order the same style in off white.

    I liked the dress on Patrycjas lower body best ,but it didn't sit as well on the chest as on her friend (a bit looser). The sleevelettes helped enhance it a lot.White seems to suit every other season except fall much better: spring ,white blossoms/flowers; summer, clouds; winter ❄️, snow...does anyone think of white (silver or grey) for fall?(aside from the bride 😉)Let me know,it doesn't leap to mind.Champagne colored bridal makes sense if it suits you...or gold/lots of gold detail.Long dresses with longer sleeves.
    The centerpieces were so tropical they didn't look remotely autumnal. Fall leaves may have gone a long way.
    I have to give it to him, the cake did look nice,and in fairness food is something u eat not something you throw away at the end of the evening. 1 splurge seemed fair :dress, cake... but after that it helps to be conservative.
    I totally get the ethnic attitude, love this element.The religious ceremony with the other ingredients is the most comfortable type 🤗

      It’s a box that guests put checks or cash into. I’m in the US, lived on the East coast for 50 years & never heard of this but was at a Czech wedding in Pennsylvania where guests paid cash to dance with the bride. Best part was the reception in the fire station (fire trucks in driveway) & all food was homemade by Czech guests who were excellent cooks, no caterers.
