    I get people not wanting kids at weddings. It's long and boring for them and for most of them it's past their bedtime. So they get tired and behave badly and disrupt things. Plus you have to censor stuff if kids are around.

    • @MsJubjubbird
      @MsJubjubbird 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@princessraj5921 People get months notice for weddings. If they can't find a baby sitter that's their problem. Send them to friends for a sleepover then. Kids may be part of the family but that doesn't make every event appropriate for kids. Weddings are long, they involve lots of sitting down and concentrating, they go way past the kids' bedtimes, they have to be 'looked after' and often the parents are too busy enjoying the party to do that. You have to pay for them to be there when they're not enjoying it and he bride and groom don't want them there and another adult may have dipped out on an invite to keep the numbers down Plus then the wedding has tobe "kid friendly" then. A lot of people believe in "grown ups time". If the bride andgroom don't want kids, parents can take the opportunity to enjoy the night off. People who get offended that their little darlings aren't included in a grown-ups event should try to understand that not everyone's world revolves around their little darling. The day is about the bride and groom, not a six year old and not the feelings of some relative who needs a reality check about the apple of their eye.

    • @MsJubjubbird
      @MsJubjubbird 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@princessraj5921 Not offended not after your good opinion so spare me. Usually it is put on the invite that the hosts love and appreciate they kids but the event is not suitable for them. The parents are fine and they have ample time to arrange care. If they then choose themselves pay for a kid's plane ticket that's their problem. If they choose to be offended instead of thinking "some healthy adult time for us to recharge with a pre-paid dinner and good company thrown in" then that'stheir choice, not the bride and groom's. People who get offended that an event where their little darlings are unrealistically expected to sit quietly for hours and stay up way past their bedtime- kids get so cranky when they are tired- does not include said little darlings probably need a hobby. They're also the parents that decide half way through they are having a night off and don't take responsibility when their kids inevitably behave badly. No weddings are not vulgar- though sometimes I am not sure about the best man's speech- but they are adult. There are many everyday things you can't do or discuss in front of kids and everything ends up having to disproportionately include them that includes them. Plus someone has to look after them. So I get people not wanting them. They could have a tea party or something beforehand for the family or, if the kids are a a bit older and understand best behaviour, let them come to the ceremony only.

    • @MsJubjubbird
      @MsJubjubbird 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@princessraj5921 your entitled to a wedding with children, but I didn’t want kids at mine for all the reasons @MsJubjubbird mentioned. Truth be told, all 100 of my guests happily obliged. They all told me they wanted a day with adults only. My wedding, my rules. Don’t like it, stay home. Not one person asked if they could bring their kids. I would have made an exception if needed. Youngest person was 12. But it’s your wedding- if someone can’t make arrangements for a sitter, it’s not your problem. I gave a lot of time to rsvp. There was a postal strike at the time and wedding was on a Friday. I knew with it being on a work day, many needed to plan accordingly.

      @@interestedobserver-gk3ih The bride and groom are always right. If they are okay with it sure it can clash, sure it can not be aesthetically pleasing but most fashion and color rules. He says he is not conventional but he looked pretty well conventional. Like the white shoes doesn't look like him. If he got black and white shoes they would have been more complementary to his wedding outfit and the wedding or since this is Canada some Fluevogs - so shoes with style, color and design would have worked even though he looks more like an oxford or brogue dude than a spats or Fluevogs.

    I can understand the 'no cake' given all of the allergies in the family, especially the bride. Then their are the moms: we pay so do it out way. If you want control over your wedding don't accept money from parents and password protect vendors. I think Emma is going to have problems with her MIL: this is not just your wedding but ours to and you aren't going to win this one. And then the groom locked himself in the bathroom to get away from her while she is shouting: 'kiss your mother, kiss your mother". Fortunately the guy with the nut allergy didn't have a reaction probably bc the nuts involved were pine nuts [pesto]. Most people allergic to nuts are not allergic to all nuts just some of them, the most common are peanuts. Most people with severe allergies know what they can and cannot eat so the burden of responsibility should fall on the afflicted not the bride and groom.

    • @MsJubjubbird

      I have seen a wedding where the bride was allergic to a whole bunch of food because it's fashionable- she wasn't ever diagnosed as allergic. she was one of those people who just claimed to be so she could be special- and they had a fruitcake. As in pieces of melon and other fruit stacked into a cake. Served with sorbet it made an amazing dessert.

    This woman got to decide everything in the wedding, only thing her husband really wanted was to wear white shoes, and she wouldn’t allow it. I don’t understand why some women are like that, you’re getting everything you want but can’t let the man you supposedly love have his one quirky thing ???? Why does it matter that he wants to wear white shoes, it’s just a fun touch. Some women are so selfish with the whole wedding thing !!

    They could always plan for the few meals only 8 out of 150 for people with allergies and dietary restrictions .They could always let the rest of the guests not have to restrict thier diet . They already stated a different soup would not change the price .It's pretty easy to do a nut free menu all around without making everyone be wheat and dairy free .it makes sence to have good food for your guests . Not having cake disappoints there are wheat free cakes even gluten free and it's possible to have dairy free icings ,there are sugar flowers nondairy substitutes they could make one tier gluten/ wheat free also you could always have a grooms cake without it being very expensive .Do you have to have a bus to take you to wedding it's the car they see you leave in that seen you can rent a car for a couple hundred dollars couple days versus a couple hours for thousand or more
