Thank you for rescuing/ adopting a cat! Spoil your cats. I had some fun toys for our cats. My husband adopted from a shelter a dog that ignored our cats at first. Now he runs and bothers them. So we have a gate and the cats have half the house and the dogs the rest. We recently took in our old neighbor’s cat. Our neighbor passed away, so we took him in. We knew the cat (Earsy - named bc his big ears). Jim let him in and out. We can’t because the nice lady who helped our neighbor and never used him once inherited everything, sold the house and asked if we’d help the cat. Well who owns the home now rented it out and the tenants said their dog is big and vicious. So we can’t let Earsy out. We are afraid he will think Jim is back there and go over. That dog would kill Earsy. So we are trying to spoil him and love him so he won’t try to escape while we open the door to let the dogs out, etc.

Of course 🙂 Edward really likes laser pointers I’ve come to find out. That’s a bummer your cats and dogs have to be separated but I’m glad you found a system that works for your family so that you didn’t have to give away any of your pets.

@@KendraKjolseth Yeh all the cats I’ve ever had loved laser pointers. We even got one of those that rotates. I hope one day the cats and dogs will slowly get used to each other and roam the house together. I’ve always rescued our cats over the years. One time I took in a homeless cat and her kittens. They had the whole basement all fixed up for them to have fun. And other homeless cats in the neighborhood, I cleaned up our garage/ shed and put cat trees, warm cat houses with straw and much more (food, toys and so much more). My husband made me mad because it took me a long time to make it a place to go when it was cold/ winter or rain. Some would go there and even an albino possum would sleep on one of the cat trees. They get along with cats. What made me mad is that through my pain and symptoms (slowly) I work forever on making a place for the homeless cats and my husband junked it up after about 8 months or so. I want to pay someone to haul off the junk we don’t need and fix it back up. I am still trying to talk my husband into that. A grocery store down the road peoples word Don Casto, Fair, and over at the McDonald’s. We’d took a homemade shelter made of styrofoam and plastic tote for them and take food and water to them. Then one day they were gone. I can only hope that someone took them in and made them part of their family.

@@Melissa-SC73 there are so many stray cats in my neighborhood and they do a great job at keeping all the mice away. I would take them in but I already have four animals of my own and that’s already a lot of work but I do put cat food out for them here and there as they like to sit on my porch and patio. They are all so friendly and cute but I always have to remind myself I can’t take in every stray animal I see 😅 I have two dogs and two cats now and a lot of fish and right now that’s all I can handle. But I do love seeing all the stray kitties roam around the neighborhood in their little packs. ☺️
