  • Today I share with you what items I keep in my 72 hour bug out bag or "to go bag" is what I like to call it. It's good to be prepared for any emergency situation, so why not prepare with me? I thoroughly enjoyed making this video and as always thank you for watching!
I wanted to clarify items shown in this video I accumulated over the course of years, most items shown in this video were bought at Walmart, Amazon or gifted to me. I also have a whole area of my house prepared for any type of emergency situation as well. After filming this video I also decided to add more dog/cat food to my 72 hour bug out bags after realizing I initially packed only enough food for 36 hours!
    Additional items packed off camera:
    -Extra outfits
    -Bigger quantity of pet food
    -Extra vinyl gloves
    -Toothbrushes
    -More food items
    -Feminine products
    -Items for protection

Dang its great you are thinking of a bug out bag. Honestly it's important to prepare and what i like to do is imagine different scenarios 😂 its sounds childish or like we playing pretend but it has improved the contents of my bag. Like toilet paper for example they sell dry tablets that you can hydrate and make a wet towlet to use for many things including to wipe. They save allot of space and don't weigh as much. Like i said just keep thinking like you are right now and keep those electronics charged. Have a good one and keep working on it. Oh yeah and you need more food for you and your spouce.

Oh yes there was so much I realized I was missing after filming this video and rewatching it while in the process of editing it hahah. I added a ton more food for my pets and my spouse and I as well! I’m just glad I decided to upgrade us to two bags instead of the one we have been using as it wasn’t nearly enough stuff for the both of us. Thank you for watching and for the kind words, also sorry if I seem all over the place I’m very exhausted right now hahah. One of my favorite shows is TWD on Netflix and after rewatching it again recently it made me realize there’s SO much more I could add. But it’s unrealistic to think one could ever make the “perfect” bag. 😅

Take batteries out and exchange for lithium, they don't leak

Ohhh good call! I’ve heard lithium lasts much longer which would be a must if a person is needing to survive without power for a long period of time. I usually just buy the cheapest batteries I can find but I do believe the cheap ones are usually alkaline. That’s a good tip which I didn’t think of so thank you!

Thank you so much! After making this video and then going and watching other people’s bug out bag videos I have since realized there’s a ton more I could add. I’m thinking of doing an updated video in the future after I add additional items. 🙂

I love seeing others prepping for emergencies, whether it be a natural disaster, civil war, another Cword outbreak or whatever else! Too many people are complacent. None of us know what will happen within the next hour or years. Never hurts to be prepared. Also something is better than nothing! Glad to hear it. I'm a Veteran and it's good to see civilians taking their life into their own hands and not just assuming everything will be sunshine and flowers all the time. Doesn't mean you should live in fear but always be prepared. Could mean life or death. I suggest seeds you don't have to buy them either, you can save them from the food you already buy! Something to sterilize water with/learn how to clean your own water. Mres/dried goods. There's tons of "smaller" items that can go a long way. Such as cotton balls rolled in Vaseline, they can be used to start a fire in wet conditions. I've thought about starting my own channel for many years about prepping, may need to since things are starting to ramp up and get out of hand.

@@KendraKjolseth also might I suggest buying a little silver and gold to barter with because the Dollar will collapse sooner then later. Gold and silver have been a world currency for thousands of years...it won't change.

@@RomanRome-fm7kt I always recommend starting a channel, TH-cam is hard work but very fun as well! Seeds are an interesting idea, I never would of thought of that! I definitely should add some more food to my bags for sure sooner than later though.

Most of it are useless junk. You can live without skin care products. Now think: on what and under what are you going to sleep? In what are you going to cook your food? Sleeping pads, sleeping bags and tent are essential. You need some cooking utensils for camping. Medkit needs some thought too. What if gunshot wound on knife stab? Even in natural disasters maraudering violent armed gangs or individuals are not unheard of. You need tourniquet, QuickClot kit or other hemostatics and, of corse, a lot of bandages. To apply it you also should have some training in calm environment first.

I definitely did not pack any skin care products as they aren't essential, only sunscreen! As I mentioned I do have a sleeping bag, tent and vehicle for sleeping, but those would be dependent on how fast we'd have to leave and if driving would be a possibility or not. I do have a ton of camping essentials for camping specifically, but those items I didn't want taking up space in my bug out bags for an actual emergency. I compromised by packing food which doesn't need utensils, though admittedly I should of packed much more food and water. I did not pack a tourniquet because I thought the bandanas or an item of clothing could be useful for that but an actual tourniquet would probably work much better. And lastly my spouse and I have a ton of training for medical emergencies. Lots of good feedback so thank you!☺
